Just had a thought.

Has Herber ever been officially reported missing? If so, wouldn't you call the local Feds? Call local FBI, U.S. Marshall Office, U.S. Attorney Office, U.S. Magistrate, I don't know. They could do an emergency check and demand to see Herber since it has been announced that he will be there at 11 a.m. today, say he's been missing since 2004. I have no idea who could be called, but that seems another likely place.

Because the COS is legally and by court order a church and religious organization the govt is very slow and hesitant to get involved, how often do you see the FBI raiding catholic churches and hauling pedophile priests off in cuffs, you dont, its that thing that we call seperation of church and state that makes it very difficult for the authorities to get involved in these matters, look what happened the last time they did, Waco, Texas, the govt is still getting a lot of flack and criticism for the way that was handled and people generally do not like the state getting involved in religious matters. FLDS same thing, the FBI got involved and look what happened, most of that was thrown out of court and the courts frowned on it very much, a few members went to prison but that was mostly for things not connected to the raids themselves. Again, the govt is very hesitant and for good reason, to get involved in the affairs of religions and churches.

It is not as easy as some of you might think it is to simply report this stuff to the feds and expect them to act on those reports. It is a VERY touchy legal issue in the United States.

I actually have some reason to believe that Travolta wants out and has wanted out for a long time and the recent stories about him being gay (he may be but who really cares thats his business) were planted by COS to keep him in line. I really think JT is a decent fellow and he is definitely no TC but I think JT is terrified for some reason of coming out of the closet, assuming the rumors are true and this is what the COS has on him to keep him from talking and exposing what he knows. Sooner or later JT is just going to say **** it and walk and isnt going to care who knows if he is gay or not, at his age now it really doesnt even matter and I bet he would get MORE movie roles if he were to just come out and admit it (again assuming he is gay and I have no clue that he is and really dont care either way).

Molly Lambert's Grantland piece:

Tom, Katie, and the End of Hollywood's Most Ill-Fated Marriage
---
There's all kinds of places Katie Holmes can go with her life starting now. She's been granted a mulligan on the last five years of her career. She apparently designed a fashion line called Holmes & Yang, from which she fired Tom's daughter Bella two months ago (foreshadowing). Katie should headline a Broadway revival of Ibsen's A Doll's House or play a female version of Liam Neeson in Taken. For Tom Cruise there's only one place left to go: Quentin Tarantino
.

I am on the edge of my seat wondering what is going to happen with Heber at his son's memorial today..I'll post when I find out!

bolded by me.

But there is another factor in this besides scientology: he's married. If he weren't it would be alot easier to just come out of the closet (if he is in one).
I agree with you for sure in not caring if he is gay or not. His belief in scientology is troubling, not his possibly being gay!

But it shouldn't be a touchy legal issue. A crime is a crime and the crime happening in a church or religious place should not matter. Using religion to hide behind your criminal actions is cowardly. A priest that molests boys or girls is a criminal and should be prosecuted in a court of law. An older male that marries (another) a young, very young girl is a criminal and should be prosecuted in a court of law. A person who subjects members to punishments that are the same as torture is a criminal and should be prosecuted in a court of law. The seperation of church and state was not brought about so that people could hide behind their religion instead of facing whatever punishments are deemed appropriate for their criminal activities. When something is a crime, then it needs to be stopped. The Church of Scientology and some of its members, not to mention the founder and the current leader, engage in criminal activities while hiding behind the "church" part. If the government can do nothing about it (or won't) then it is up to others, the average ordinary person, to do what they can to tell people the truth about the "church".

MOO

Not a gypsy here either, but wish I was! I don't know how people get taken into this. I think it is mostly young people that are finding their way. I have no idea how adults get caught up in it. Guess that is why I keep watching all these videos, but I'm still not understanding that part. I'm just too big a pain in the behind to go there I suppose. School of Hard Knocks and all.

IMO it is because even adults are seeking direction in their life...seeking something to fill a void....seeking solutions to problems in their life....and so on. im not sure how an adult seeking out scientology is any different than an adult seeking out christianity......they both promise a reward for doing something....they both promise to fullfill whatever it is one is seeking.

I find it very easy to understand how and why people fall for things like this....

Yes, yes I agree and what is even more troubling at least to me is IF he is gay, and that is fine if he is really, but he has no business shilling for the COS if he is as the COS is probably the most homophobe organization in the world, they claim they can CURE homosexuality, so it would seem that IF he is gay he is using the COS as well as wife and kids as a cover to distract everyone from it. And that is indeed troubling.

But you know, I really like JT I just wish he would come out and be done with it, he is a great talent and from what I have heard and experienced myself he really is a nice guy in person, genuine and thoughtful.

Wow, yes, that is even more troubling! He can't admit he's gay because that would be like admitting that scientology can't do one thing that it purports to be able to do, cure homosexuality. He's really got himself painted into a corner, IMO.

He does seem like he really is a nice guy. Too bad he's entangled in such a web. IF reports are true.

One thing that some seem to think is far fetched, but I do not is the CoS providing Kelly as a beard for John.

I don't know if many of you know the timeline of event leading up to their "blessed union." in 1991 it was leaked that the National Enquirer was coming out with a big story and interview with JT's ex-boyfriend. This was a man he lived with for approximately 4 years, in the late 70's / early 80's, and was seen with openly at many public places. JT didn't make any effort to conceal this relationship at the time JT being quite open with his sexuality during this time and in his career slumping years. There were many witnesses to their long term relationship and the guy was quite credible.

So this was going to be a pretty big story even if JT wasn't the mega star he used to be he was trying for a come back and this might kill the small comeback he made with the talking baby movie the previous year. The same week the story was due to hit newsstand -wham - John marries fellow Scio Kelly Preston. The story ran but the marriage really helped the public dismiss it as tabloid fodder. (This was the early 90's a more naive time for the public knowledge of closeted and gay celebs.)

As far as I know there was no connection to Kelly and John, besides the CoS, until right around the marriage. No rumors of their dating or being seen out together. I have always though Kelly was approached by the CoS, she was a struggling actress who's biggest claim to fame was being shot by Charlie Sheen, to marry JT as a way of boosting and helping both of their careers. Sell it as CoS power couple ********.

She is told to marry JT for the good of the cult's PR by protecting (at that time) it's biggest celeb. Besides it was a good deal for her, it made her instantly wealthy, greatly increased her name recognition, helped her get movie roles and by all accounts JT is a nice guy so maybe it worked well as a mostly platonic relationship that allowed both of them to have the children they wanted.

It's maybe a mistake to conclude that his marriage is a complete sham, because he is interested in men. For all we know, it might not be. There are such things as 'open marriages', I've heard. Oscar Wilde and his wife had a very loving relationship, and she knew all about his adventures/misadventures with men.

From what I've read, he genuinely loves her and he would never leave her. And he loves his kids.

I decided to google Marty Singer, Travolta's attorney, and I came up with this little gem.

http://jacqibone.blogspot.com/2011/1...1cddea9e2cc8c4

When one of his wealthy clients comes to him with a valid legal claim or some problem they’ve gotten into requiring damage control to protect their image and/or assets, Singer steps in. He infiltrates the opposing party’s life by any means possible to dig up information he can distort, exaggerate and use in a character assassination to discredit them. He will even take an event that actually occurred and flat out lie about the facts surrounding the event in order to tarnish the reputation of the opposing party to discredit them. In a sensational manner, he puts the false and/or distorted information into a demand letter which is protected from legal claims by the opposing party under the litigation privilege (immunity for attorneys). He usually states in the demand letter that the opposing party is engaging in “criminal conduct” and makes a direct or implied threat that the opposing party is going to be criminally prosecuted or subject to substantial liability to instill fear in them. Then he usually makes a further threat by stating that if the opposing party does not comply with his demands, it will be at their own “peril” implying imminent physical danger. He writes these bogus demand letters with the intention of misleading any third party reading the letter, including a judge, into believing that his statements are true. Remember it is assumed that attorneys are being honest and ethical in their conduct because of the Attorney’s Oath they are required to take in order to practice law. Singer then usually sends Paul Barresi, ex-🤬🤬🤬🤬 star and former associate of federal prisoner Anthony Pelicano, to hand deliver the demand letter rather than sending it via U.S. mail or via legal courier. Barresi has publicly boasted that he employs intimidation tactics. He is also known for engaging in illicit activities for profit and recognition. And it is believed that he has ties to the mob. Do you see the picture I posted of him posing with Victoria Gotti (daughter of mobster John Joseph Gotti, Jr.)? I would be remiss in not pointing out again (as I did in my posting of 8-19-11) that Barresi claimed publicly that Singer paid off witnesses to give false testimony under oath in the Eddie Murphy matter of 1997. The main witness in that matter (Atisone Seiuli a.k.a. Shalimar) turned up dead less than a year after her dealings with Singer, Barresi and Eddie Murphy. Exactly how does a person just randomly fall off a building to their death? I invite you to read every posting I’ve written about Barresi in this blog to understand why Singer’s longtime business relationship with Barresi is so suspicious and inappropriate.

The guy is a shark, he sounds exactly like CoS attorneys operate. He is also Charlie Sheen's attorney.

True, and I do understand that. The difference is that with a legitimate church, the knowledge they offer isn't for sale. They don't dangle carrots of higher spirituality or deeper understanding or better living for $$$.

I think everyone should be able to explore whatever faith works for them without getting ripped off and/or abused.

And I don't care for the way COS appears to use celebrities to increase their membership and attempt to legitimize their organization. Off the top of my head, I don't believe I have the slightest clue as to the faiths of other celebrities or where they choose to worship.

That is all true of the COS indeed but you can study and practice Scientology for free all the materials have been smuggled out of the church and are now available to the public at no cost if you are willing to go out and find them. And as I have said before the philosophy can be very helpful to people if it is applied and used properly just like any other tool but also like any other tool if it is misused you may very well cause harm and misery.

The important thing to remember is that Scientology is but one tool that can bring one to a place of mental and spiritual peace and perhaps even enlightenment although enlightenment can take many many lifetimes to achieve, I think it took the Buddha over 250,000 lifetimes to finally reach it so while it has been achieved by Buddha and documented by the monks who studied at his feet it is not something that is easy to achieve and there are many and various ways to achieve it, the most spiritually enlightened person I have ever met was a Buddhist monk that I had the pleasure of meeting during my military travels in Tibet years ago, he used no holy books, rituals or prayer beads or anything, he owned one robe and a needle and thread that he used to sew up the holes in it when they appeared, he ate one meal a day at noon that was brought to him by people who knew of his endeavors, all he did day after day and night after night was sit in a cave for over 25 years, he did not utter single word during that entire time only to nod his head as a thank you to those who brought him food and water, he meditated 20 hours a day and slept 4, that is all he did, he did do some yoga exercise for obvious reasons but that is it, besides breathing exercises the yoga and meditation he did nothing else, he read no books, watched no TV and that was his entire life, he came out of the cave after 25 years and was able to offer some of the greatest insight I have ever had the pleasure of hearing, stuff that I myself cant even begin to put in to words but at the time I "got it" and I understood it, he still did not have the meaning of life and what our purpose was but I was suggest he was pretty damned close and as close as anyone I have ever known and I have known some pretty dedicated holy ones over the years in my spiritual quests to find what was right for me, this man had a peaceful presence and glow about him that I had never seen in another human being prior or since and the only tool he used was sitting in a cave closing his eyes and meditating deeply and pondering the meaning of his existence, while he didnt find those answers he was able to quiet his mind and soul and find a peaceful balance that allowed him to live the rest of his life in a way I can only dream of, I wish I had that sort of dedication but I do not unfortunately, I admire greatly those who do however and to this day that man had more influence on my life than anyone before or after and we really didnt even talk much just sitting there looking at eachother and almost communicating in silence told me all I needed to know, my point here is that there are many ways to find spiritual peace and balance, it is no big mystery and you dont need any fancy churches or tons of books, just sit down and spend some time reflecting and most importantly quieting the mind and calming the soul, when you are doing those two things alone you are giving your spiritual self the nourishment it needs to grow strong and healthy, to this day I spend at least one hour just sitting in a dark room and thinking about nothing totally calming the mind and quieting the soul to the point that all becomes one and when I am in that state being everything in the world is right and all the conflicts that I struggle with all day every day are gone, even if only for a short time they are gone and that is the time when real spiritual progress has a chance to take place.

Paximus I have been following this thread as a reader only. I finally had to post just to tell you what a light you are.
