ITA, I believe that the whole idea of putting someone into prison is for punishment, in other words, a prisoner is not suppose to like it!!!!!!!

Punishment? I agree, we should all be held accountable for our actions but rehabilitation is supposed to be part of that process as well. That part of it has gotten lost- we put people in cages and forget about 'em. Maybe we aren't supposed to like jail but most of us who have been in jail eventually get out and wouldn't it be nice to know that when we do get out we have learned a thing or two about how to act according to the rules of society? Simply lockin' us up and forgetting about us.. not caring what happens to us, treating us as if we are all bad isn't teaching us much about how we should treat others.

Excellent, informative video- it really opened my eyes.
Thank you for posting it, O.L.G.

The one on people with mental illness in jails is a good one too!

Oh I think they DO have to comply. At the very least, they need to stop any line of questioning.

See, IMO cops are tricky in how they approach that law too.. if you say "I want my lawyer" but then continue to talk to them.. they aren't doing anything wrong. If you ask for the lawyer but still answer questions, those answers can be used against you. You gotta ask for a lawyer and then shut up in order for the request to be binding.

I disagree, but I'm not going to argue the law - that's why we have lawyers.

Most of you probably already know, but Tommy's attorney James Werter has opened a channel at YouTube called "werterlaw". He has had a running dialogue for the past few days seemingly to promote Tommy's claims and postion. I posted a few comments that essentially amounted to "Tommy lied about the alligators and failed his polygraph, why should I believe anything he says?"

This was his reply to me:

You're right as to the temperature but broadening all the circumstances and feeding habits to get a clear view of the situation.

WTH? Is there anyone who can translate this shuck and jive mumbo jumbo into something that I can understand?

This whole case and every one of these people are like a collision of The Twilight Zone and Deliverance. I don't think we will ever know where Haleigh is or what really happened to her.

Here Papa let me try....

The heat has been turned up man. Yeah Dude lied but dayum, there's reasons for it. And I'm just doing what I can to keep the "sharks" of our arses, cause someone going down Brother, do you feel me?

He's taking lawyer speak to a whole new level-the level that doesn't make any sense. But he might be saying that the body just lay there until the alligators were ready, but he might not be. who knows....That's morbid, I know, but they're the ones who opened that can of worms, & backed themselves into a corner. Do you think Werter is being so careful with words, because he wants as little on record as possible? trying to leave a little wiggle room? Personally, I think he knows that Tommy's story needs some fine tuning, (major overhaul), so he's trying to leave room to avoid being locked into an exact account.

maybe he's saying that it's not out of the realm of possibility, that there could've been that one exception to the rule, & an alligator was feeding that night. So we need to broaden our narrow minded thinking, when it comes to mother nature, & accept that possibility. ummm, but if he is...that's gonna be a hard sale.

Well, I'll accept his one rogue alligator who defied all known biological characteristics for the specie IF he can explain how ONE alligator fits into his client's oft repeated version of so many alligators they "swamped the dock" and "looked like Lake Placid" during the fishing trip with Cousin Joe who was only here for 2 weeks during the coldest time of the year.

I thought that Ron is the one who said Tommy relayed the story about the gators swarming the dock? If thats true, I dont believe a word of it.

I've banged my head against the wall a thousand times as everyone else has trying to figure out what happened to poor little HaLeigh Ann Marie Cummings and we come up empty handed. I've cried a thousand tears for this little girl and yet we have no answers. I've asked myself a thousand times how can a 5 year old little girl vanish in thin air without a trace. It makes no sense to me. All the lies and side shows in this case have taken our focus off of what truly happened and that is exactly what they wanted to do is side track us. These are simple folks that haven't got the sense they were born with but yet they have been able derail this whole case by all their antics and lies. I sincerely believe this case isn't as complicated as everybody seems to think it is. I truly believe the truth is right in front of us but because of all the b.s. and crap that's been thrown out there we don't know what is fact from fiction, but if we step back and start with what we know to be fact and put those pieces together I believe we can figure it out.

If anyone believes that James Werter is going to tell us what truly happened to HaLeigh Ann Marie Cummings then think again. He is a defense attorney and its his job to protect his client at any cost. I put attorneys in the same catagory as shisters. Defense attorneys are hired to cover for their client not get the truth.

LOL that's cool, we are allowed to disagree and as I have admitted countless times before I'm no lawyer.. I am an ex-con who has dealt with the law on the other side. My opinions are far from popular and I'm ok with that. Though this may interest you.. http://www.hightimeslawyer.com/knowyourrights.php (see the parts about Miranda rights and questioning.)

ETA- Please don't take this as me saying LE is wrong in how they go about getting the answers they need to solve crimes. I have nothing bad to say about their methods, they do what they have to do to solve crimes and I'm good with that- nobody should be excused of there crimes. If we break the law we should pay for it.
