Toronto mayor admits crack use

From the Star, the cellphone is supposedly lost on April 20th:

Though the new details do not reveal who Juiceman is, they show that Lisi had spoken to the same person a month earlier, on April 20 — the day Ford reportedly lost his cellphone at a community event in South Etobicoke, where he was picking up garbage with most of his staff.

The police document refers to the mayor’s phone being lost on April 20 several times — but additional details remain blacked out.

In October, the Star reported that Lisi is alleged to have gone looking for Ford’s phone, offering marijuana in exchange, after it was apparently stolen. The disappearance of the cellphone panicked the mayor and his staff.

It’s still not clear what, if anything, was on the phone or why his office was panicked. There’s no indication the video was on it.

The document also shows a flurry of phone activity between Ford and Lisi on April 20 — more than 20 calls and attempted calls.

The same day, Lisi phoned one of Ford’s staffers, Thomas Beyer, and Ford friend Fabio Basso.

It’s interesting to see who is left in the Mayor’s office. ..

They include an employee who came from his brother’s office (and who Vice magazine reported was trying to enlist someone to hack into a website that supposedly housed the crack video).
An employee who contacted Sandro Lisi 73 times, and
one who was promoted to Chief of Staff who has hardly any experience, due to the fact he has only been on the job for a few months and came from his radio program.

I always thought the phone was just "lost", not "stolen".

Okay folks ... last time ya lost yer phone (or had it stolen) did you assume that some conventional type person might find it and you therefore offered a conventional reward for its return? OR, did you assume some cracker or stoner had it and therefore you offered pot for its safe return?

Be honest ... Hmmm?

SMH....I don't get it. Just how far does he have to go for people to wake up?

Do a large portion of these people think it's no big deal to smoke crack and hang with criminal thugs and that wouldn't interfere with performing duties as mayor of a major city?

Rob Ford: Mayor’s support at 42 per cent, poll finds

Perhaps most interestingly, 33 per cent of respondents said they planned to vote for Ford in the next election whether he goes to rehab or not. And one fifth of those surveyed said they would support Ford for prime minister — an aspiration he reiterated last weekend to Fox News.

A “domestic assault” call to Mayor Rob Ford’s house in August disrupted a nearby police sting involving alleged drug dealer and Ford friend Alexander “Sandro” Lisi, court documents released by a judge reveal.
The trouble at the Ford house prompted Lisi to make a rapid flurry of calls to Ford and city hall staffer Dave Price, and apparently stopped him from driving into the sting. The domestic call also sent uniformed officers to Ford’s house and caused the undercover detectives to break off surveillance that August evening.

Many more ridiculous details at the link.

I read somewhere today that another police call came to his home where a limo driver with limo and a scantily clad woman were arguing while Ford is screaming into a phone. Will find link later.

The Star has also learned of other trouble calls to the mayor’s house, including one in 2012 in which local officers arrived to find Ford outside his house in the early morning hours yelling into his phone, while a stretch limousine idled on the road and its driver and a scantily clad woman stood in Ford’s driveway, arguing. An emergency official with knowledge of the incident described it to the Star.

You are forgiven Matou!

Many of us understand how challenging this is for you Torontonians. If Ron Burgundy stands up for you...well the rest of us certainly must stand up for you too!!

:floorlaugh:

(It boggles my mind that so many think that this guy has saved them money, even though he made up "the numbers" himself. What the heck! Let's not let the facts stand in anyone's way! This reminds me of the Tea Party in so many ways. )

Toronto police issued a city-wide alert for Rob Ford's SUV on Aug. 29 after witnesses called police with concerns about the Toronto mayor's fitness to drive, CBC News has learned.
....
Later in the evening, police spotted Ford's vehicle in the parking lot of the Grand Hotel & Suites at 225 Jarvis St., where Ford was staying. CBC News has learned that a police sergeant spoke to Ford inside a hotel room and told the mayor that police had been looking for his vehicle and told him why.

Ford was not charged in the incident and it appears the investigation did not proceed further.

well well well. Ford gets away without being charged with drinking while impaired. Lucky guy.

Staying in a hotel room on Jarvis??

(biting my tongue.)

He reminds me of Chris Farley, if still alive he would be using this material for years! Don't feel so bad our politicians in the USA are just as bad! Just they know who to pay off to keep it quiet except for Bill Clinton lol.Except that one can't remember his name who just got busted buying coke !

As a Canadian I have been following this closely and my feelings changed as time went on. When the news of him having smoked crack once came out, i thought good he didn't resign because everyone can be stupid once. And few politicians are lily white, just some get lucky and their past peccadillos never come to light. Not a good thing for mayor but one that reasonable people could see past.

Then he started speaking and showed himself for an out of control oaf. The comment about his wife dumbfounded me as did others. He is a disgrace. His behavior at the city council meeting itself was enough to strip him of his powers.

That said his antics have now made me join in the laughter its so bizarre. Its like something out of Monty Python.

On a more serious note, he is in dire need of help. I pray he gets it, if its due to alcoholism and he sobers up he might manage a comeback down the road. Thats where i feel bad for laughing, we are watching a man go down in flames due to his own mental health issues imo.

Yeah I know. High end and low end escorts in the area.

And somewhere in that ITO is the account of the teacher who was riding his bicycle in an area behind the hotel and saw RF in his SUV exchanging something for a package with a young man who was not Lisi. Apparently the area is known as "crack alley"?

And this was in August. So in a three day period he had a domestic altercation at his home where police were called, moved into the hotel on Jarvis for three days, was seen in what looked to be a drug purchase, went to a Conservative BBQ with Stephen Harper present, was kept away from Harper because he was inebriated and then got in his vehicle and drove away which prompted calls to police again and an alert to be on the lookout for him driving his SUV. While this is all "alleged" if just some of it is true, those are quite the binges.

MOO

Rio breaks off relationship with Toronto in wake of Rob Ford crack scandal

The mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is no longer interested in a relationship with the City of Toronto in the wake of Mayor Rob Ford’s crack cocaine scandal, according to one councillor.

http://www.thestar.com/news/city_ha...oronto_in_wake_of_rob_ford_crack_scandal.html

Speaking of this, what goodwill has RF extended during his official trips as Mayor of Toronto? Has he brought in any interest in the city?
