I wonder at times if they become one by conditioning at a very young age, as in infants and toddlers.

I know many of you have seen mothers that has a kid that controls the house. They give them what they want to shut them up. I've seen mothers take something away from one child and give it to the troublemaker, and that kid only grows worse. I see that in Jodi. It's terrible of me, but I wonder if Jodi's mom was the " throws the baby in the bed with a bottle" kind.

The age old argument..nature vs nurture!

I'm sure that would be according to her Defense Team.

I invite you to investigate the matter. At least one of the doctors was court appointed.

Katie my dear, you do indeed have a way with words!! I began crying as I read the first part of this post, but you turned that around by letting us know that our guy is taking good care of the fam and that made me smile!!

(I am out of the loop as to what your situation was with your family, but just knowing something happened to you and you are willing to fight and do good for others really touches my heart!)

I had posted earlier today that I was glad that jerkwad cut in line the other day bc everything seems to be falling into place! Thank you for keeping us in the loop and for passing along our support to his family. I'm really happy I joined this site last week - you are slowly restoring my faith in the human race!!

Katie- I also do not now what the situation with your family was/is but thank you for giving back to others that find them in the horrible place of being a victim or family member/loved one of a victim.

The age old argument..nature vs nurture!

My humble opinion, totally as a layperson. Nature and nurture.

Good for you. It is a fascinating field. That is the degree I hold but my official title is Psychometrist. I have no claim to fame here when it comes to crime. Anyone pursuing the degree will take Abnormal Psych. Fascinating. I once worked with sex offenders but after a year I transferred out. Kept me awake at night. Now i work with Dual Diagnosis. It is a challenge considering how these folks fit in to Services. I work with behavioral and have some who can be quite violent. 31 years. Time to retire but for some reason cant quite get there.

How fascinating!

I work in federal LE now, and have done my fair share of interviewing (for criminal investigative purposes, not psychological reasons, obviously!) of suspects regarding child 🤬🤬🤬🤬 cases. I can't tell you how "dirty" and disgusting I feel some days when I go home, after sitting near some of the individuals. Blech.

But in my early deputy days, my CO asked me if I wanted to specialize in a task force for sex offenders, or elder abuse. I didn't want to be doing follow-up on sex offenders...I had much more interest in making sure victims of elder abuse were still doing okay, and to be there if they needed help. (It was oftentimes by family members - THOSE are the ones I would have loved to have interviewed, as to WHY THE HECK did you do this to family?! Ugh)

Yep, maybe I should go back to school and go into Psychology, with a criminal emphasis............

Well, yes. I wasn't necessarily talking about that. I was more talking about SSRIs being prescribed for people that are actually bipolar or schizophrenic because of misdiagnoses by healthcare professionals that don't specialize in the proper field to make these assessments. I also agree that biological therapy helps on certain levels, but it needs to be accompanied by some other sort of actual emotive therapy for it to be fully effective. I don't agree with doctors that dump anti-depressants on their patients and tell them to come back if stuff gets worse. That's not how it should be.

I do agree. There are way too many Docs just handing out pills. I/Agency i work for are conservative on the drug issue. We try everything and anything first before adding another drug. I come from the B Mod. Model and CPI. Some of it is incorporated but due to the level of violence 911 is our back up. Often knowing your Client CPI on the Verbal Continuum can deescalate. You just need to be tuned in enough to know when it's not working and you cant get near them to give a PRN you call 911. We no longer use physical restraints unless it's a matter of self preservation until Police arrive.

I do not mean this with any rudeness at all but can you point this out to me because I do not see the media trying to side at all with the defendants. If anything I see them as trying to be first in line to report something whether it was used or not.

In fact, I often see people who state anything positive toward the defendants being pushed for negative things ("so you never saw ANYTHING that implied that she was a stalker and a killer"? )or mocked as if they are a fool or naive.

It seems to me this is why Florida has the sunshine law which can benefit the defendant as well if they are innocent. The media often reports what is rumored or leaked to them without regard to whether or not there is any truth. We have not heard from the prosecutor or defense whether or not this is true. We do know from an email TA sent to JA whether or not she had gotten into his personal accounts. To me we seem to be focused more on their sex life than on the actual crime and why she killed him. She certainly did not kill him because he sent pictures of men's body parts if this is where this is headed. "Bombshell, TA send pictures of body parts." Maybe she was into body parts and she let him know that they were interesting from an artistic viewpoint. We will never know.

What bothers me is the virus warning on TA's computer when LE turned it on. The very fact she claims to have "cleaned" his home tells me she had access to his computer. We don't even know how many times she may have been in the household when no one was home because he never locked the doors, which she knew because she said so in her statement to Flores. To me the only person who could verify whether or not he sent those pictures is dead. jmo

Sorta OT...

I'm happy to have found this place to discuss/debate and sharpen not only myself but hopefully sharpen others. I wanted to mention that true communication involves voice inflection/tone, facial as well as hand & body language. I've read some posts were people (myself included) were offended regarding the victims family moving on and I'd like to say I went back and reread those and I honestly think they are coming from the heart in order to help the family. Some are more articulate than others, some of us have never been even remotely close to this kind of situation and we make make an ill worded post all be it with the best of intentions. I would like those of you who have gone through this horrible experience to help educate me as what to/not say to/about a bereaving (sp) family member. Innocently with a soft voice I can see myself saying the anger isn't help you physically. Explain to me as a victims advocate what/why that may not be the appropriate thing or maybe even it's just the timing of when to say it.

Asked with utmost respect and sincerity!

yes - she was a server a a few hi end resturants - where i am sure she made a ton in tips - which was why she could prolly take all those road trips - and she worked for PPL - but idk if she ever made any money doing that - imo

Here are restaurants she worked that I have heard mentioned during trial.

Look at the way she's rubbing her neck obsessively starting around 47:30. It just really creeped me out. Then the deadpan "Oh, I didn't." As she breaks character for a few brief seconds.

If i had to do it all over again I would Major in Criminology. My husband keeps urging me to do so. Are u kidding me lol. I am about to turn 57. I will take courses out of interest when i retire. Some weeks I think i need to go. Others not so much. Yet soon. I use to thrive when the action happened. Now it exhausts me with the adrenaline flow. I think what keeps me there is I/We have a amazing Team. They are alot of fun.

Ebay Bidding is up to $8,100 and it ain't over!

View attachment 29515

When the first Casey Anthony item hit eBay (Halloween mask) there was a bidder who had no intention of ever paying for it. They took the price right up to $999,900. They did not pay and, in the feedback section, took the opportunity to leave some choice words. The non-paying bidder sacrificed their eBay account to make sure that neither Casey nor anyone else profited from Caylee's murder. I was so relieved when I found that out. The same thing could be going on here.

In the event that it does sell to a paying bidder, there is one small silver lining. I can tell you that eBay and PayPal charge ridiculous fees and the seller will only end up with about 80% of the selling price. (But zero would be so much better in my book!)

BD1 - Did you know CA's psych evaluation was made public and she was found to be 'normal'?

I also saw a sexual addiction type test was done on her too but I can't find it anymore.

No proof so far Travis was controlling, demanding, a sex pest or abusive physically or emotionally.
Where as Jodi was all the above with alleged proof (ie: witness testimony).
Enough said IMO.
I'm not in favor of the DP, I'd much prefer her to rot in jail and have a constant reminder or what she did to this man.
I hope she sees his face every night when she goes to sleep and its the first thing she thinks about when she wakes each morning!!
JUSTICE FOR MR ALEXANDER!

I thought most people on here had decided that it was not his penis? I myself did not do the analysis. :floorlaugh:. As you said, even if the penis was his. SO?

The media loves it because it makes the story more interesting but I do not think that they are stating that hes not guilty because of it. Truthfully I think the only people more eager to dirty up Travis Alexander than Jodi's defense is the media. Not because they want her to walk but they want viewers at any cost.

i saw that some where in the court minutes - but IIRC i think it was sealed - i think it is the defense trying to keep it out of the court

She has no soul...just a deep void inside her.:moo:

And at least two of three on the outside. ...sorry couldn't resist.
