IMO if the jury knows anyone or have heard of fibromyalgia they will know a about brain fog and know JA is lying

Do you mean to tell me that the judge did not look at this magazine nor any of the slides during that time?

Willmott doesn't have a paper copy - how prepared. since she KNEW this would come up!

Okay, so Wilmot wants to argue that the psych doc in a box should be able to use a Time article, but she doesn't have a copy of the article to share with the judge? That's just so lame.....

This whole friggin deal is lame.

I am really beginning to have serous reservations about this judge.

We should not even be having a conversation about Time Magazine..this is like the twilight zone. Are they going to rely on US Magazine and the National Enquirer for scientific data next? This is unreal....

My conclusion is they could not get a respected, renowned expert for this presentation.

Is she really not going to ask who wrote this article?

  • #1,207
Please tell me this is not Mr. Samuels.

I thought the longer lunch was for JM to interview the so called Dr and for her to make a ruling on all the other stuff.

Please correct me if I'm wrong....what scares me is that appellate issues only apply for JA to appeal, get a new trial, etc. but the PT has no 'do over' if she is found guilty of a lesser charge or acquitted (not an option here).
So if the judge is allowing things that would have been issues in an appeal for JA's benefit, there is no recourse if what the judge allows puts the prosecution at a true deficit.... Those scales of justice aren't swingin quite level IMO.
Also, if I would have used Time Magazine as source for a college paper my profs would have laughed their tails off at me....

Are the court watchers able to see the rest of his bogus carp on their screens?

Willmott like her client is rather snarky and biotchy...ummmmm

Why is this being discussed at all? You can't take snippets out of a magazine article probably written by a freelance journalist and use them in a criminal trial.

Seriously?

She did mention the two times she blacked out due to alcohol when she was 14 and 15 yrs old. She said this on the stand when being grilled about her memory loss/blackouts.

One or two times is hardly the history you would expect from a drug-addicted vet with PTSD. My post referenced a study that found no strong link between reduced hippocampal and PTSD when controlled for alcohol abuse. Since there is no testimony that Jodi is an alcoholic (except for two blackouts when she was a teen) , this further undermines Samuel's contention that she suffered memory loss related to PTSD.

My brother in law came back from Vietnam with PTSD, and he remembered every thing about it. He would wake up and be in a rage. My sister said she would get the kids and go outside and stay till it was over. He would smash walls, throw things through windows. It was terrifying.

Saying it's not premeditated doesn't even make sense at this point. It is all but confirmed as a fact.

  • #1,219
This is really bad to have to hear from expert defense witnesses who are basically going to lie and say Jodi is abused and pyschologically impaired because of it. I cry fowl because Jodi heself admitted on the stand she doesnt need physhological help. She said she is normal.

So lets believe her this once and get to Juans rebuttal.
