How could the defense possibly get crime scene photos unavailable to the prosecution?

I caught the tale end of NG, as I waited for the mystery series after her. She was saying that the defence had 250(?) crime scene photos that were only turned over to Martinez 45 mins. before direct (???). She said that can only be considered 'lousy lawyering or deliberate deceipt". In her opinion the judge ruled correctly in giving Juan his 45 mins. as the legal system is geared toward the defendant, not the victim. NG does not agree, but that's the law.

Now I only caught the tale end. I'm sure one of the regular NG watchers will have a far better take than I, but that's what I heard. Pictures of knives laid out in front of the kitchen knife block were being shown on the screen.

I feel like it may have been to stage "suicide" maybe with the fake pedo letters? IDK?

For some reason, I don't think that would be Jodi's style. I get the feeling that making Travis's death look like a suicide wouldn't work because she wanted to show everybody the great job she did. She wanted people to see her handy work.

I went looking for Here with Me and came across a video of a girl hiding in a closet, looking through the slats the door. This is disturbing. Is this how she did it? From a song?

It's impossible to know why she sang that particular song in the interrogation room. It could just be a song she happened to like. Nonetheless, it is not implausible to me that she had, in the days or weeks before the murder, fixated on that song as something that spoke to how she was feeling.

I THOUGHT I heard late today that Jose was going to be in the court room on Monday also. Please somebody tell me I'm in a fog and it's not true. Something about him coming to show Jodi his support. The man is insane after what he did to Caylee to express his opinion on anything.
He's scheduled to be on HLN After Dark Monday evening playing the "part" of a Defense attorney.

Yes, but I think her primary goal/interest was to gather as much forensic information as possible so she could see what LE had and what/where they were focusing their attention. imv, I think it is just that simple.

Agree. She wouldn't have had the crime itself so embedded in her mind due to time constraints, therefore she HAD to see the crime scene photos to form her stories around them.

I do believe, however, she has likely spent many hours over the past years trying to recreate the murder and form the best "story".

Juan asked JA if she was on her tippy toes in TA's closet and in the video she is on her tippy toes on the ledge.

I know they are not related, but just creepy.

I really liked that Dido song and had never seen the video...great now JA and that song will forever be linked in my mind. Seriously though that video is so creepy and so JA!

Just saw a clip of JM asking JA about pointing the gun - deliberately asking her (again) that she claimed she held the gun with both hands.

I think this is going to end up being key - somehow.

RSBM

I agree, it's going to be key!

Regarding the first assault, JA's claim she held the gun with both hands will most likely be proved false!

More than likely she initially held the camera in her right hand and knife/gun in her left with TA trapped in the shower stall. ...

Well yeah...consider the source and all that....:what:

But why all the 'new' stuff all of a sudden? Its creeping me out. Is it because there has been very little court this past week, and they need to keep their ratings up? I mean FGS they created a whole new show titled like a cinemax softcore 🤬🤬🤬🤬 marathon....:waitasec:

If the media screws up this trial I will do headstands all over them!

Moo.

Watched her program also, and that is just about the same take I got on it. Must say however, I wasn't listening to everything she said toward the end (cleaning up dinner dishes) but I did see the layout of knives.

I have actual experience with this. What you are describing is called "slide bite"' and results in injury to your hand. You can search for pictures. Smaller guns are more likely to do it if you have large hands. I cannot even get my finger through the trigger guard of any .25 I have ever handled, and I'd certainly never own one.

Luckily there will likely be some gun owners to explain the litany of things wrong with Jodi's gun story:
  • Almost nobody buys .25s compared to .22s/9mms/etc.
  • A guy certainly wouldn't buy a .25, especially if he has a cop sister and a gun nut friend to get advice from.
  • Even if he did, he'd certainly have at least a partial box of shells around and probably an extra magazine or two.
  • And even if he popped in a magazine full of shells (highly unlikely) and left off the external safety (or it didn't have one, which is possible), he sure as hell wouldn't rack a round into the chamber and then stick it up on a shelf.

She's peeking out of the closet into a bathroom as she sings. To close for this is be explained away.

Since the PTSD Samuels talked about was AFTER the murder, and Juan will get the crime scene determination thrown out, what else will Samuels have to testify to?
Does anyone think he will really get into the spoon defense?

and the Psychologist admitted that he (or any doctor) must thoroughly examine a patient for PTSD etc within weeks of the incident to give a conclusive diagnosis. He admits his diagnosis is speculation.

He examined her 18 months or more later, then only briefly (12 visits, approximately 1 visit for 1 hour each 3 or 4 months) This is a VERY insignificant amount of time.

What I am saying with confidence is IF THE DEFENSE team felt she was a victim of Domestic Violence, emotional and physically beaten by this man to the point she slaughtered him to save her life and now has PTSD among other things, they had UNLIMITED state funds to get her HELP.

She needed help if they believed that story and not that they had a Classic Stalker on their hands.

Stalker-Sociopath = NO Therapy (as there is no treatment for this)
Battered Woman = Intense Therapy which they could provide as the State paid Dr. Samuels $255 per hour in many other cases to the tune of over $10,000.00 in State paid therapy bills.

If her own team believed she was Abused, they would have a Therapist in there at the minimum, once a week for 2 to 3 hours and it gets paid for. This appears to be an Expert Witness Paid only to bolster a Self Defense Claim that is made up.

OR they would have gotten her the help she needed and deserved. (but they didn't)

I know! I don't know that I can enjoy anything by Dido now without thinking of JA.
This too shall pass.

I think the state has laid the perfect groundwork for premeditation with JM's 62 Second's.

Everything JM does or says from this point on will point to the fact "JA HAD to have the GUN and Knife with her in the Bathroom in order for that timeline to work....and there you have your premeditation.

Her 18 days on the stand, all her lies, all her sparring with JM, and all the possible mental illnesses she could have won't mean zip.:moo::jail:

Can somebody please answer something for me. After TA sent these msgs. to JA, WHAT happened that he allowed her to come visit him June 7th? Did he know she was coming to see him?

I don't think he 'knew' she was coming, but since he knew she was on a road trip, he probably suspected it. And I think she left him apologetic messages and explained that she had money for him and his CD and wanted to apologize in person. So she was setting him up for a few days.

I think Travis thought he could handle the situation. Especially since she was on the way to see a new potential boyfriend. I think that gave him a false sense of security. Like maybe she wasn't that obsessed with him anymore, so he could safely be around her now. Poor naive guy.:rose:

That is as bizarre as her saying she thought the gun was unloaded. Why point an unloaded gun at someone who is within inches of you, threatening your life? Love Juan Martinez's question "what were you going to do, throw it at him?"

:silly:

One of many times Juan has totally destroyed her story. Travis would have known whether or not the gun was loaded. If it wasn't loaded it wasn't going to stop him. And the fact that she claims she didn't know one way or the other makes her story even more unbelievable. You go for a gun when you don't know if it's loaded, rather than turn the other direction and run out of the house? Not believable.

He also nailed her on the timeline of the crime, when he grilled her on how her story didn't add up to the 62 seconds it took to kill TA. It was hilarious to watch the DT during that cross. Wilmott often looks like a deer in the headlights, and Nurmi just maintains that same look of arrogant disdain on his face no matter what's going on around him (when he's not busy "digging" or "scratching" or objecting...or just being objectionable).

My favorite testimony to date is Juan's brilliant cross about where the knife was. He nailed her to the wall with that, and Nurmi was powerless to stop it no matter how many ridiculous objections he raised. I did a fist pump every time the judge said "overruled". Classic :rocker:.

I came back on WS to see if anyone had figured out why the defence had crime photos that Martinez did not.

When did the defence take the photos?

Or, were they given them by the prosecution and never returned until direct. Surely Martinez would not give them originals?

Strange! Another mystery to sleuth. :waitasec:

Judge Stephens has allowed JA et al to transform the courtroom into little more than a freak show.

After watching this trial I have concluded that TA could scarcely have been more violated than what JA did, is doing, and will do to him and his memory -- including what Judge Stephens has allowed in her courtroom.

JA has no shame, but I am ashamed that I have watched 'her show' now for more than a month.

It's time to cancel her show and consign her to death row.

When Judge Stephens was newly appointed to the Superior Court in 2001, she was placed in the Juvenile Dept.. In 2004 she was moved to the Criminal Dept., then in 2007 moved "down" to Family Court, and now is back "up" in Criminal. Is that rotating around, rather than "graduating up", unusual? Seems so to me. She began in the AZ Attorney General Office, so her felony trial experience may be very limited, explaining why she seems much less confident and much more tentative than usual to me.
