She seems too mild mannered and I doubt she will be a challenge for Juan. imo

  • #1,625
And there it is...she has a book coming out in April.

  • #1,626
So the last few minutes are just going to be about LV's background...?

  • #1,627
Why is JW smiling????? How inappropriate.

JW didn't know the camera was on her a couple times as she was making a Duper's Delight smile after objections of hers were overruled.

Proves she is just trying to disrupt Juan's questioning.

Ok..we know she is really educated..lets get on with it!!

This is the engaging part. She's trying to win the jury over with her credentials and gregarious personality.

It won't work in the end, I'm just sayin'
So let's let her have her 15 minutes of fame (shame)!

I don't think they'll get to any testimony today. Why didn't both sides stipulate that she's an expert and saved us from this crap?

The long, drawing out of credentials is really painfully unnecessary. I'm sure the jury could accept the witness without knowing the details of her thesis, her opinion on the difference between a master's an a bachelor's degree, and the purpose behind the groups she ran. It's almost insulting, the amount of detail they go in to.
Didn't Ted Bundy do volunteer work on a hotline?

Her book is expensive! Like 40 dollars or something close to that!

  • #1,631
She's testifying for the defense. She is there on behalf of Jodi. She is there to try and validate all of the lies about Travis. She is a hired mouth to bash Travis Alexander. All I need to know. I despise her.

Seriously. She's not there to be honest or see through JA. She's being paid to push the DT agenda. She is not there to be objective.

wilmott will keep her on stand for 3 days
Well after that we can move along?
Why didnt she ask Samuels if he published anything.
It's not DV when you stalk your abuser!
Slash his tires!
That's something the abuser does not the victim! She claims to be.

Can't believe I read the term "Femi Nazi" on here and other very personal insults on here.

I'm guessing the defense is going over this lady credentials because JM will probably to say she really isn't an expert or something like that? :rocker:

It is actually common practice for a lawyer to go over the credentials and experience of their expert witnesses to establish credibility with the jury. Juan will do the same thing with his witnesses.

Yes... And my gut tells me she would see through JA. She has extensive experience to draw from, I would think a lying woman would not pull the wool over her eyes. (I could literally walk to her office from my beach office) how weird...
The thing about anyone who is caught up in the cycle of violence (man, woman, child), they will try to "help" the abuser. They also use coping skills with you that work with everyone else - lying is a big part of how they stay alive.

So, even when you know they are not being truthful, you must stay supportive until they feel safe. Just saying.

It is going to be interesting to see how she explains the "why women stay" vs. Jodi's claim, while Jodi was not married to Travis, did not have children with travis, did not live with Travis, lived 1,000 miles away, he had broke up with her, she was a stalker, she vandalized his and a friend's property, she broke into his house, his internet, e-mails, etc.

  • #1,637
she's not a researcher. She's a ghost writer. This is very impressive.

Lets me honest here. Any expert in domestic violence the bulk of experience is going to be on abusive men.

That is because most men do not report or are humiliated when they try to get help. Today's time I would think the numbers are the same or very close. This is not 1950 or even the 70's, woman today are not stuck in the home unless they wanna be!
