Jurors look interested in a fresh new witness. Some are already taking notes. #JodiArias

Small confession: sitting in the drive-thru @ Cinnabon. Bad traffic and PMS made me pull over to get a sugary dinner and say, "Haha Jodi! You'll never eat one of these again!"

  • #1,663
Gee, that was a cheap shot. "I hope so when I get back."

It is actually common practice for a lawyer to go over the credentials and experience of their expert witnesses to establish credibility with the jury. Juan will do the same thing with his witnesses.

I really don't see JM asking anyone what the process was in writing their book.

I hope her testimony is milky... that she doesn't swear that Jodi has been abused by Travis. There is no proof that any of it happened, only words of a liar.

It is down to her honesty to me. I'm curious as to how far she is willing to sacrifice her integrity for this case.

I don't give a flip what she looks like or what her own personal philosophies are. I do care, very much, that she validate male victims of domestic abuse every bit as much as their female counterparts.

My concern, after reading several of her papers and watching a few of her keynote speeches, is that she does show bias towards female victims. In reality, a good 90% of DV victims are women - but it won't help men to come forward if even advocates won't fully concede they can be every bit as abused or victimized, and sometimes even more so, than females.

I have to question, as an advocate, how she could seemingly ignore very common abusive characteristics Jodi has displayed but I guess we'll find out soon enough.

ITA!
When she starts all that " Jodi was battered" bs I will look at her as a paid liar.

Seriously. She's not there to be honest or see through JA. She's being paid to push the DT agenda. She is not there to be objective.

Yes, but will she flat out lie when JM questions her? Or will he be able to "flip the witness"?

she's not a researcher. She's a ghost writer. This is very impressive.

She's definitely slipped through the cracks as far as having to do the more difficult things like the peer reviewed research, Phd, etc. She seems to be able to insert herself into areas where she takes a lot of credit though.

Oooh, she's worked on stalking cases before. That's good. She shouldn't have any problem answering Juan's questions.

  • #1,670
She sounds like she is going to be the best hope for Jodi, sounds like they have the right person up there for what they want to accomplish.
Her first case in 1984 sounds exactly like what they hope for here.

Alyce has tested out a few jokes so far only to be met with cricket sounds. ::chirp chirp:: #JodiArias

seriously is this a time to joke?

I noticed she stopped smiling REALLY fast once she looked at the jury after she made her joke. I wonder if the jurors weren't impressed. :blushing:

I'm sorry I don't care about her credentials; the fact that she would testify in this case for the sociopathic murderer who butchered a human being, makes her less than credible. i dont' think any self-respecting expert would testify in this case. that's how i see it.

So we agree, don't we?

i have done one federal case and one post conviction case . . . . i have worked for the defense about 15 or 16 times. . . prosecution about 9 times . . . and i have worked with prosecution where i just volunteered . . . i do volunteer mock trial so the prosecutor can practice with an expert witness . . . . cross examine . .

a particular criteria where you decide whether you will help a case?

Approach and recess ....

Well that was telling!!!!!!!!!!!!

"I hope so when I get back."
<-------------- Think she feels the heat for helping an abuser?

She didn't know testifying was a paid job - then once she found out, she has done 60 cases and mock trials. So, she implied money motivated her interest in forensic testimony.
