Yes but you felt this was understandable...

I am saying if she has any bias she should not be an expert.

I never said she would display bias in a unprofessional way. Everyone has personal bias, admitted or not.

I would think she can be professional and testify on her professional opinions based on Jodi's self report. Legally that's all she has to do ethically.

When asked by Juan ... Isn't it true it could also be true that blah blah blah... If she admits that's could also be true. She has done her job, legally and ethically.

For those who watch New Girl, I imagined her response to the jury not being impressed with her joke by doing the jazz hands and singing, "Tough crowd!!!!" like Jess does in New Girl.

I really don't see JM asking anyone what the process was in writing their book.

But he will go over their credentials and expertise. It's what is done. So people can stop bashing the DT for this one.

Dear Judge,

The State is willing to accept the doctor's CV in the interest of time.

Sincerely,
Mr. Juanderful

The defense would never agree to that stipulation because they want the jury to hear her qualifications and experience so that they will find her testimony credible.

I think that Juan will handle ALV differently than Dr. S. I don't know how, but she has a totally different personality.

Definitely. Dr. S was abrasive and arrogant. It was quite entertaining to watch Juan push his buttons and get him upset.

I have a feeling he will be more effective with her if he appeals to her emotions using facts that she may not have yet heard about Jodi. She is much more down to earth and soft spoken and I don't think she'll respond well to an aggressive attack.

In reality, a good 90% of DV victims are women - but it won't help men to come forward if even advocates won't fully concede they can be every bit as abused or victimized, and sometimes even more so, than females.

Actually, an advocate for abused women, Murray-Strauss, did a study to confirm some findings and found that there's actually parity in domestic violence, women initiate as often as men (which is often dismissed by the bogus claim women don't do much damage) and where a weapon is used, women do it more. In other words, in trying to confirm some results he found results that made him anathema.

The dynamic of domestic violence is extremely complex and isn't served by the old tropes of sexual politics.

People talk, and rightly so, about how under-reported rape is, and the need to make it less painful and stigmatized for a woman to come forward.

That being the case, it's not hard to imagine how under-reported men as victims of domestic violence is.

And the problem is worsened by the Violence Against Women Act (what's wrong with the "Violence Against People Act?)but all that assumes men = perpetrator and makes it so that should a man report being a victim of domestic violence, he's basically called himself in a reservation at the jail.

Small confession: sitting in the drive-thru @ Cinnabon. Bad traffic and PMS made me pull over to get a sugary dinner and say, "Haha Jodi! You'll never eat one of these again!"

IDK Cinnabon had drive thru LOL

Anyone notice the DV witness sizing up/look intently at all the jurors???

She's definitely slipped through the cracks as far as having to do the more difficult things like the peer reviewed research, Phd, etc. She seems to be able to insert herself into areas where she takes a lot of credit though.

I remember when CMA did that :floorlaugh:

I was expecting Willmott to ask - "Oh, did your children wear those red sneakers like mine did??"

  • #1,697
Well that was dumb.

Another long winded witness. Where do they find these people??

Thank you! I was waiting for someone to say this.

Yes but people make fun of KN appearance and Dr S appearance---no one is immune to it so its OK.

What possible "criteria" would it take to get her to accept this case based on the spewed testimony of a proven liar who premeditated a murder, then drove over 1,000 miles to commit it, and never showed one ounce of remorse.

Just threaten them with a wooden spoon. I mean, what are the odds of them growing up to despise you and be sociopaths?

The odds depend upon two things:
1) who is doing the scoring
2) which version of the score sheet we use
