 She kicked a dog! :furious:

I have no tolerance for people who abuse animals. :gavel: Let alone abuse other human beings.

I hadn't heard that she was originally supposed to be brought in for mitigation. Interesting. Does anyone know the date or approximate time she switched to defense witness?
8-25-11 DT needs a replacement for their sick expert.
5-18-12 DT announces ALV will take over, but only in the mitigation phase.
10-25 DT announces ALV will now argue during CIC

5 months to change her mind

This happens after the state asked for her COMPLETE NOTES, and after the 8-8 hearing on the letters.

NEW ARIAS TAPE ON HLN NOW

Are you still going to like her when she testifies that in her professional opinion, TA was a pedophile and an abusive boyfriend?

Uh, no.

I meant that I kinda like her so far.

Sheesh.

Have a great night, ya'll, I'm calling it quits.

Be kind to one another :)

Is Dr. Samuels allowed to speak now, or does he have to wait until the trial concludes?

I hope you won't mind me playing devil's advocate here, in a sense. I understand the desire to have abuse validated but there are some victims, real victims, who don't have proof of their abuse either.

It doesn't negate them as victims in my opinion. Probably because I was that woman, desperately attempting to 'prove' to a family court judge that my (now ex) husband was incredibly dangerous with almost no evidence to prove it so I believe I came across as a woman scorned, maybe? The court finally conceded...but only after my ex had attempted suicide in front of his 12 year old daughter, became homeless, lost his job, and plead guilty to drugging and raping his 14 year old niece while already incarcerated on a weapons violation stemming from pulling a gun on me. (He was also allowed to plead to both charges for lesser sentences.) Until the very last charge, plea, and conviction the court maintained he should be allowed visitation with our then 4 and 6 year old munchkins. :furious:

So Jodi *could* be an abuse victim without medical documentation, police reports, restraining orders, or even others to validate her abuse. At that point though one has to look to a pattern of behavior instead. And Jodi's pattern of behavior is wholly indicative of the profile of an abuser, not an abuse victim.

All JMO
That's an excellent point. God knows I've listened to enough cops, DAs, and PPos tell me that "she's the crazy one," in all my years when I knew just how cleaver the partner was at hiding the tracks. And believe it or not this is doubly true when the people have money.

Still, in this case, the evidence of Jodi's pattern as a stalker far outweighed her testimony of what Travis did to her. Then her stories prove false in more than one area, and finally this new evidence of her violence with her mother. The DT would have to pile on a mountain of corroboration to even move the balance of who was the primary aggressor in this case.

Let's hope that Juan got some advice from Casey Gwen (or other pioneering DA in the field of DV) so that he can flip this witness on that very issue.
:websleuther: Listen for those two words: Primary Aggressor

I am on the fence about this witness - let's wait and see.

She seems as though her career has really been about battered women. I don't think she will be as combative with Juan when he cross-examines her and brings out some of the salient points pertaining to Jodi's lack of fear of men.

IMO I believe she will concede the ridiculousness of some of what Jodi has done - the "grinding" on a Ryan Burns (practically a stranger to her) less than 24 hours after commiting murder, being willing to go on a camping trip with a group of barely known men, having had anal sex with at least three men (they weren't all batterers forcing her to do it), initiating most of the sex on the sex tape, confronting men she was broken up with, her own stalking behaviour, etc. Even the premeditation - most battered women go back to the men because they are begged. Travis did not beg her. He didn't even invite her.

I don't think she will concede that any of it was ridiculous. I think she will say those things are EVIDENCE of Jodi being a battered woman. JMO

She's talking about a time in high school when she kicked a dog. It apparently had diapers - she wishes she could apologize ...............to the DOG

Yes, let's not forget her sole intention is to paint Travis as a pervert and abuser, and by doing so get Jodi off.

Thank you for this post. I dont think people realize how common the flip side of the coin can be.

I know of quite a few men that are in mildly abusive relationships mainly of the verbal abuse kind. The women that dominate them are very controlling and it is very sad to witness the "put downs" and demeaning remarks. It seems like the women enjoy to put down their SOs in a public setting with mean hurtful remarks sometimes disguised in a joking manner.

The type of men I know that are in these relationships choose to be submissive and they remain silent and just "take it" because I am sure they know if they publicly argued or threw a nasty comment back at their SOs, then they would feel their wrath when they got home.

I have known two serious cases in my life. One was grossly physically and emotionally for years and was almost killed by his wife when she threw scalding hot water on him when she was in one of her rages. The other one was a co-worker of my hubby's. A wonderful man and caring father. His wife abused him all during their 18 year marriage and when he had enough courage to leave her she shot him 6 times in the back and then stood over him and shot him in the head two days before their divorce would have been finalized.:(

There are many many more but they don't tell anyone and its because society dismisses abuse suffered by a male at the hands of a dangerous female.:banghead: And women like ALV are part of the problem.......not the solution.

IMO

OMG How long is her education going to go on? It's her whole life history Now she's frightened of men.

I'm guessing that the rest of the court week will be with this witness.

Clip about dog: at first I was like poor Flores having to listen to her ramble. He even let out a big ole please shut the h*** up sigh. And then jumped in with "you need to apologize to Travis." Flores is awesome.

I am steeled to hear whatever ALV has to say or imply or impugn about TA without judging her (too very much). And I hope and trust that Travis's family members are steeled for this next onslaught as well.

But I sincerely hope that JM can present an expert to discuss with the jury exactly what happens when a good and trusting and exceptionally naive male is deceived and abused (psychologically, emotionally, physically) by a female who is not suffering from PTSD, not suffering from an amnesiac fog, who is in fact not suffering at all--but who needs and requires full control and domination of any male unfortunate enough to partner with her.

NG has previously unseen tapes w/ Flores and Jodi and Jodi admits to kicking a dog and it "didn't yelp but ran away and she never saw it again."

It's creepy and makes you wonder if Travis was her first
