Smeone started a check list upthread of things on the continuum that Jodi meets - need to add Jealousy and Threats. ALV gave the example of the spouse who made up child abuse as an attempt to control the other spouse for fear of losing the child. In Travis' email that may have precipitated the roadtrip - he is clearly angry about something Jodi made up to make him look bad - my guess is she was threatening Travis with false acusations about pedophilia or some other deviancy in an attempt to control him. Check and check.

To me the fact that she has done good works in the past have noting to do with the role she has accepted in this trial. If I killed a man TODAY, it has noting to do with weather I was a SAINT in my past.
The fact remains that she has chosen to speak on the side that is responsible for horribly murdering Travis. The fact that she has a lot of experience in this area, actually makes it WORSE that she was not able to identify true abuse when she sees it.
She has chosen her responsibility in this role, and she must accept it.
And I despise her for accepting that role.

you and me both-- she is despicable for testifying in this case and IMO she has no integrity. ugh

Wonder if a kitchen knife was "never seen again" after poor Jodi had to clean up diaper trash that the damn dog tore up from those damn babies who took all the attention away from Jodi?

I keep wondering if she has siblings young enough to still be in diapers when she was in high school. Does anyone know their ages? TIA

ALV can't discuss Travis. It was ruled on at a previous hearing. What she is doing now is explaining what DV is and not in relationship to anyone? I think JW will ask her questions about abuses Jodi has stated. I think JM will do the same regarding what we know Travis experienced without mentioning his name. Frankly, Jodi's journals mean nothing. By Travis' text message she did something and I bet we are about to find out what exactly she did to make him that mad. Not sure how you leave a relationship when you are in your own home and she keeps finding ways to get into the home. jmo

exactly, HE told her there wasn't any room at his house and she wasn't welcome but she slept under the xmas tree wth?! HE dumped her,HE told her he wanted nothing to do with her shortly before she murdered him.
he was in his own property and she wouldn't leave him alone.

he isn't totally innocent in this in the way he kept using her for sex but how many of us have used someone or been used for sex, ive been both and here i am, not committed any murders and nor do i plan to

We're getting to the sex part now. This really is a joke. JA was 27~28 years old at the time she had a relationship with TA. She had been with multiple men before that and had quite a few kinky (not meant to be derogatory) sexual experiences.

It would be different if she was YOUNGER or had a learning disability (low IQ).

This really p's me off!

My grandson has Aspergers and it's a learning disability. It's due to putting thoughts to paper and dysgraphia and it has nothing to do with intelligence.

I didn't know that, I just had two small grandchildren diagnosed with epilepsy. And just got a call from my daughter, My granddaughter is on life support. The dr's are giving her 20% survival.

Reading here to keep my mind busy.

Oh Katiedid2, I am so sorry. I gulped when I read your post. I will keep both grandchildren in my prayers.

Jean C. just said the jury is paying attention, but not taking notes! Her perception of the jury is usually a little different than our court watchers, but that sounds like good news to me! I'd think they'd be writing down these points on the chart if they thought it was important. Interesting.

I can't wait for cross already and am curious to see what the jury questions are!

So sorry!!

My ex was possessive, insecure, stalked me, stalked me by proxy, threw huge fits when I tried to break up, constantly messaged me. and in the end when I finally ended up having the strength to break it off, got really furious. I'm still scared of being stalked. and she is female, so I think it's really important for people to realize that women can be aggressors too, against men and other women. (I don't want to compare my ex to JA though, I mean she isn't a murderer, but she made me uncomfortable and took a chunk of my life and energy and I believe emotionally abused me on top of the stalking.)

I think this DV expert, I hope not to demean her judgment, but she's been manipulated by someone she would have instant sympathy for (a young woman who has allegedly been battered.) That, and the appeal of appearing in a high profile case, but still, I think her sincerity's been taken advantage of here, and even the defense knows it.

I think that her work with "men's groups" was that the men were abusers, dealing with their anger issues, etc. Someone stated that academia is catching up to the fact that abusers can be women, and men can be victims... but I suspect ALV is old school.

Actually I think she mentioned helping abused men--she said it was a much smaller number, but they exist.

Well this appears to be excessively boring. I may decide to watch the rest of this later. However, it's :offtobed: now.

Could somebody put the post #'s of the summaries in the tags section. I was doing that, but I can't do that in my sleep.

The constant messaging makes me wonder about the number of times Jodi called or messaged Travis in relation to the number of times he actually called or messaged her. I'll bet she constantly blew his phone up with calls and text messages while he ignored her and rarely called or messaged her.

Does anyone know if the phone records have been broken down to show the ratio of calls and texts?

I like this witness, and she definitely knows what she's talking about in terms of all the various forms of abuse. I am really eager to hear how she relates this to Travis and Jodi. I would be surprised if she makes a flat out conclusion that Travis was an abuser -- maybe she'll couch it as Travis having more power in the relationship and Jodi's perception. A lot of what she will be relying on will be what Jodi has relayed to her, but there are other pieces of evidence besides Jodi's word that she can point to as well.

For example, Travis not wanting Jodi to spend time at Rachel's, Travis joking about why Jodi would want to spend time with her family, telling her not to write things in her journal, the names Travis called her and ultimately telling her she's the worst thing that ever happened to her, Travis getting mad at her for hanging out with John "🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬" because he was not in the church, etc. Those are all things that can be found in her journals or in the text messages between Travis and Jodi.

And I hate to say it, but those behaviors of Travis' are unhealthy behaviors and are not appropriate in a romantic relationship. Obviously, the healthy thing to do would be for Travis to leave the relationship if he was unhappy with Jodi's behaviors. Travis did have more power in the relationship, but that does not mean he was abusive -- especially in this situation because Jodi was constantly doing the passive aggressive stuff to hurt Travis and sabotage his life.

I'm not particularly worried because there are so many behaviors of Jodi's that Juan can ask her about that clearly fall within her continuum. And besides that, there's nothing that remotely would cause Jodi to fear for her life when she murdered Travis.

Totally disagree. She's just making things up as she goes, she makes unsubstantiated claims and expects people to believe things are true because she says so. Her reasoning is bizarre as well. I just can't trust anyone basing their conclusions on their some "continuum" they made up that seems to have no actual validity and was not subject to any kind or review. I can't believe people fall for these so called experts. Bad as he was, at least Dr. Samuels used some scientific tests.

this is why they have purple

Has that been confirmed? Do we know why they have ribbons on in court today? It could be for DV and it could be for Epilepsy. I tend to believe it's a stunt and they are wearing purple for DV. :furious: Since the Alexander family did not take off their ribbons, the A family is just being spiteful. JMO

Don't fret over this expert witness. Once again, all Juan has to do is remind the jurors that this is Jodi we're talking about. Just like Samuels....all Juan had to do is ask 'is it or is it NOT possible for someone to make this up? And that will be the end to her generalized testimony.

What good are her examples if they don't fit the personification of the person she's testifying about? This all comes down to what Jodi told her and we all know Jodi's words are a crap-shoot at best.

Like Juan so eloquently pointed out in Samuel's round...there's no brain test nor 'crater' to tangible SEE in order to substantiate what's being said. It all boils down to what Jodi told them and how these expert witnesses are giving her the benefit of doubt bases on her words (and their pay check!)
Jodi isn't worthy of any benefit. Only doubt!

My concern is - HOW can he end that sentence? If he refers to the tires, etc., it will be objected to as hearsay, and something that hasn't been proved to have been an "act of Jodi." Much of the other "stalker-ish" information we have has come from the media, and was not admitted as evidence at trial.

I'm not saying JM won't have plenty of ammo to toss, but I think our assessment of how helpful this testimony is to the prosecution is colored by the fact that we have more facts available to us about JA's background than the jury does.

What do you think are the strongest points JM can make, using only the evidence of record?

He can say 'theoretically' if someone cut someones tires, or spied on them or sent a new interest an intimidating email.....

I was watching the heat is on video about Juan, and thought wow that needs a flash mob for when Juan walks out of the courthouse. Hint hint to our insiders.

Sorry if this has been rehashed ad nauseam, but can someone tell me what the acronym BBM stands for in people's posts??

A cursory web-search returned Black Berry Message and Big Black Meat

Not sure where this is going...I though Black Berry's were extinct.

"I just kind of pushed him away with my foot, he didn't yelp or anything, but I haven't seen him since." - Jodi

Yeah, a dog running away from you forever happens only because you push him away with your foot.

We owned dogs and at least a couple of times I was carrying a handful of stuff and the dog would run around me and I'd push them out of the way with my hip. Those dogs never left and even licked my face when I bent over to put the stuff down. Somehow, I think that was a lot different than what she did. Just sayin'.

Personally Steely I think she killed the dog.

The point Samuels really crumbled yesterday was when he testified Jodi created an alternative reality was her way of dealing with her murdering Travis, JM replied she'd already told us she did that to avoid being caught and all Samuels could say was "She didn't tell me that." I wonder if we'll get another point like that in this cross. ALV seems less gullible!
