Isn't the argument for a mistrial done in open court??

Because it has to do with a juror saying something they probably have to put each juror on the stand and since they are supposed to be secret they probably can't. JMO

Don't listen to anyone's opinions who try to read the jurors at this juncture, it's impossible to know what they're thinking, or which way they are leaning, and the testimony isn't anywhere close to being over.

Hmmm...I shudder to think, but maybe they are trying to get the family to agree to a plea deal. I can't imagine that the State would agree given the time and expense of trial, and likelihood that she is going to be convicted...but maybe she is offering to plead to second degree again? I can't think of any other reason for them to be back there.

Is it possible that this motion hearing will take a while and that is why Travis' sisters were taken back to chambers? So Juan can keep them updated and they don't have to wait in open court?

I honestly don't think a mistrial is in the works. If anything, juror #5 would be replaced, but I can't even say that's what I think is going on.

I have a gut feeling that JA is asking for a plea deal in exchange for LWOP if she admits to everything, confesses she's guilty, clears Travis' name from all the lies she told about him, and tells the family she premeditated the murder and anything else they wish to know.

OTOH - I could be totally wrong.
