Wow, that's very touching! My brother was murdered as well, but there were witnesses and they apprehended the murderer at the scene. He was convicted without much ado.

ITA with shameless defenses of blaming the victim; coincidently, what ALV has dedicated her life to preventing, so she says!

Same with my brother's murderer, arrested at the scene, admitted to the shooting , and still thought he would walk out of court a free man.

It's not about respect, it's about compassion. I get where you're coming from and I agree that some of her behavior in court has been offensive, however, I still feel sorry for her and wonder if those behaviors are defensive mechanisms. No matter what you think of her, she is still a parent facing the prospect that the State of Arizona wants to put her child to death. None of us can know the contents of her mind as she sits there each day.

Is this judge not able to do anything on time? You tell the attorneys on your other cases that their time ends promptly because you have other cases and I would think a death penalty case would take precedence over all other cases anyway.

I've never heard of them, but maybe they are banned in canada? I just started Zyban on Tuesday, to help me quit. Hasn't started working yet but I'm hopeful.
I'm not a big smoker, a pack lasts me about 3 or 4 days so I hope I can do this.

I think her behviaor it the courtroom is deplorable.

Until you've been told your child committed a horrible murder, I don't think it's fair to judge the intiial reactions in a police interview.

You cannot like someone and still treat them fairly.
