I'm starting to agree with you Schuby. And, I'm being sincere (not mean or snarky) when I say that I think that Sandy Arias is not a particularly....um...sophisticated person. As KCL observed, she seems a little simple and as much as I deplore the laughing, I can cut her some slack given her position.

I agree with you both. First thing I thought when on the video she told Dect. Flores she thought she was going to "puke". I do get very frustrated with her antics in court though. :banghead:

Neither her life nor her daughter's ended with that voluntary police interrogation.

And now Sandy sits there in the courtroom laughing while Travis's siblings are sobbing.

What am I missing?

Some WS'ers have much more respect for Sandy Arias than I ever will after watching her laugh through the Alexander family's misery.

She disgusts me on the Alexanders' behalf and my own.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like her nor do I respect her. I think her behavior during the trial has been atrocious.

I guess I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt, probably much too often. I'm not always the best judge of character. Trust me, it's a character flaw.

I think her behviaor it the courtroom is deplorable.

Until you've been told your child committed a horrible murder, I don't think it's fair to judge the intiial reactions in a police interview.

You cannot like someone and still treat them fairly.

The Sandy Arias in the courtroom is the same Sandy Arias in that interrogation.

Folks are talking about compassion for Sandy Arias.

Where is her compassion for Travis's family?

Instead, she treats them with derision.

Sandy Arias laughs as her daughter, after murdering Travis Alexander, then slanders him by fabricating after the fact that he is an abusive, misogynistic pedophile.

Perhaps folks who feel strongly about compassion and support for Sandy Arias should explain those emotions and their underlying rationale to Samantha and Tanisha.

Jodi's mother did not kill Travis. It's really that simple.

This judge should have cleared her schedule. Why in the world would she hear other cases while the biggest trial in the country and a DP case is going on!? It's been said a thousand times but this trial needs to go for 9-5 Monday through Friday with ONE hour lunch breaks. If you are going to do two hour lunch breaks and several long recesses then go all day on Saturday too. We will all die a natural death before this trial ends!!!!!!

I also try to keep in mind that Mr. and Mrs. Arias didn't kill anyone. They didn't ask for this. Having compassion for someone isn't in any way, shape or form synonymous with supporting them or their ungraceful actions in court.
