I am stunned that someone in the DV field could take this position. The backlash from her peers is going to be enormous.

If a client came to you in this situation and you thought they were joking/making it up, how would you feel later to find out they were truthful and had died at the hands of the stalker? Pretty bad, I imagine. But this woman knows that TA ended up dead at the hands of the alleged stalker and she still dismisses it and is testifying for the perp.

Beyond my comprehension. An 18 page IM that dealt with some very serious issues. Travis characterized as "extremely afraid" of JA by JM.

This witness is going to help JM show how crazed JA was in the time leading up to Travis' death. At first I thought that she would be under cross for one day with JM, but he may use her much longer to paint the way to Travis's murder.

And for all of the TH's that have criticized JM for his yelling and pit bull style, he is anything but today with a DT witness and an uncooperative one at that. She's been admonished by the judge at least three times in less than an hour.

Justice for Travis.

And yet when Jodi writes-' Nothing important happened today. I ate spaghetti and dreamt of Travis' ALV is prepared to buy into that being JA code for he actually broke my finger and said mean words but I didn't want to de-edify him.
I think it's one thing for a persons medical records, labs and CT scan to be reviewed by a Dr who has never met the patient to make a medical diagnosis. It's quite another for a Psychiatrist to do so and she's not even one of those. I can't even express how angry I am but I do hope she's sued by several people who've been served up as collateral damage to save JA. :banghead:

Yes, and it shows her to be inherently dishonest. If she is assured of her opinion and is willing to stake her professional reputation on it, why worry about any question the prosecutor might ask? If instead she knows her opinion to be on shaky ground and based on questionable logic, then she would fear his questions and feel a deep need to figure them out before they're asked.

To me, that woman looks very afraid. Her mouth sounds completely dry. And that look she gave to the jury at the end.. oooh boy. It appeared her stomach had sunk like a cold dead stone.

And this is what you get when you have a person who makes it up as they go along and who does not stay current on research and evidence based practice.

Wow I wonder if this was done or the motion is to stop it from being done?

IMO, I think the Prosecution went in and tested those shelves after JA testified.

One day this trial will be over and JA will be serving her fate.

Another trial will crop up, as usual, because there are some crazy people in the world.

I hope that out of this Alexander trial Church leaders from every faith consider changing certain policies that will encourage, not discourage, their faithful to seek help from them.

In this case, I feel if Travis had of felt encouraged to seek help from his Church elders rather than fearing excommunication or some other form of punishment, he might be alive today.

Please understand I am NOT bashing religion or anyone involved in religion.

I am just asking that the punitive measures be stopped, and love and enouragement be extended to all faith members - unconditionally.

i so wish it did not take tragedies such as the murder of travis alexander to effect the sort of change you speak of, but should that change come to pass, what a most phenomenal part of his legacy it will be. this would save lives. this would change the world. i pray it happens.

Rebuttal is going to challenge her claim of getting on top of the shelf to get the imaginary gun!

If they are the same ones I've dealt with in the past, just putting your hands on the front edge makes them jump up in the back and dumps everything on top of you.
If the peg fits into the side of the bookcase, and not into the shelf, that's what would happen.
If the peg goes into the shelf...... and into the bookcase.... it would hold a person up. I would love to see exactly what Travis had.
However, it's really not important, since it never happend!

These TH's on HLN are all saying that ALV is beating Juan on the stand. Seriously?

They are saying ' she is sticking to her guns, and not saying Yes or No, and not letting him direct her.'

Does that mean she is winning over the jury? I think Juan has shown concretely that she misrepresented much of the material in those texts/IM's. That is a major win for the state, imo.

And he showed that she misrepresented herself in the CCV document that she herself submitted to court for this case. I don't care if it seems like nitpicking---she purposely led the court to believe she was THEE KEYNOTE SPEAKER---when in fact she was just one of several speakers in some breakout groups. That is dishonest.

She has said she won't talk about her opinion until after the trial. So far, she has stuck to this.
