trial day 42: the defense continues its case in chief #128

I have a question, I hope it doesn't get lost in the shuffle, this thread moves so fast...

One thing that Martinez brought up was Arias' self image was within a "normal" range. Laviolette kept correcting him by saying "the test was given two years after the fact" she said this a few times, to me implying that Arias could HAVE suffered from low self esteem when with Travis, but has since recovered.

Is it just me, but if someone is a victim of DV... do they really recover that quickly??? I assume that low self esteem goes hand in hand with someone who stays in a violent relationship, but it seems like two years is a quick recovery for something so traumatic in regards to self image. I know YMMV with people, but that just struck me as odd, or am I overthinking it?

O/T. Love your profile avatar!!! :D

I've searched high and low here and cannot find the link to where Wilmutt is supposedly giving cues to LV by sticking her arm out them running it through her hair. (I don't think she is giving cues, but I would like to show someone who asked.)

Any help on page numbers or a link to YouTube would be greatly appreciated!! I've also Googled and Yahoo'ed all to no avail. Thanks!!

I don't care about this woman's feelings. I care about justice being served on this heinous creature Jodi arias. I am simply worried he is turning off the jury. If he did that we might lose justice for Travis. That's the ONLY thing I am majorly concerned about. The smallest thing could sway 1 jury member and its over!!!!!! Out the doors like Casey Anthony. I adore Jeff Ashton , but folks have said the jury favored Baez .. God knows why... But Ashton too was passionate about his case and may have appeared cocky at times turning away the jury.??.. I want justice for Travis as much as anyone on here. I was simply freaking out that JM was coming off too abrasive to make his very good points he was trying to make.

BBM

That's not the case here. She is not going anywhere. She will stay in jail, regardless. One juror can HANG a jury. That doesn't mean a walk. She'll be tried again.

Try to be calm- this is not like FCA. We have a confession, cause of death and the killer's DNA at the scene.

The DT is going to fight the shelves ever coming in since "who knows what shelves were actually there" yada yada yada. I pray the Judge grows some balls and Nurmi can sit down and shut up while JM shows how JA could not have done what she said she done. Ha!

JM showed Jodi a zoomed in pic of the closet. It showed sneakers and shoes neatly lined up. Everyone saw that, including Jodi. She QUICKLY offered up,"I stepped on the edge of the shelf". Under normal circumstances, who would remembet a detail like that? And its something noone would remember if you are running for your life. There was never a gun in the closet. She went there with the gun she stole from her grandfather. Also, I dont believe there was ever a rope. Remember that story? She pretended Travis cut a rope. That is suppose to explain why thete ead a rope in the immediate area. There was never a rope. Do you see any rope in background pics they took?

6 1/2 years later...I have a lot of self-doubt, low self esteem, you'd think I was mute unless I know you already because I'm just that shy now, and huge big bad scary anxiety that didn't even start until 2 years post abuse. (My relationship was 10 years and was almost entirely psychologically abusive.)

And that's with therapy too. I am, shall we say, a work very much still in progress? :giggle:

I noticed you're from Upstate New York. Did you want me to connect you with Brian?
I'm kidding of course. I can't say that NO ONE does this, but I don't and I pray to the Lord above that no one I associate with does this either.
Don't let me discourage you if you want to give it a go though. They say after so many years of Chess, it's nice to spice things up a little.

:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh: Who the heck is Brian anyway????? and what does Upstate New York have to do with it?????:floorlaugh::floorlaugh:
Does he live there???:floorlaugh:

He appears very combative on TV, but some trial attenders - KatieCoo mentioned "live" is much different and Juan is tiny guy with a big growl. :heartluv:

JM either received some great advice about "toning down" or he took some kind of "chill out pill" today, was somewhat refreshing....Guess we'll see tomorrow if it's still the same, didn't seem to work for to many days in the past....Ready for this trial to be done, jmo

If anyone here has YouTube video #20 plus more, please do tell. Thanks to NG, I missed the end of today's trial. What time did the Judge tell the jurors they should be there tomorrow? 10:30 AZ/PST again? When we all know Nurmi is going to take up another 1-2 hours?

Vhead,I say this sincerely,Juan is really good at what he does..This is his style and has been for yrs..he will get the jury to convict her..I promise!!

fair amount of bear activity on the back 40 (okay...I only have 5 acres but ...) but nothing as up close and personal as the other night...

To be honest...its the crazy wild turkeys that are freaking me out right now. Its like 'Night of the Living Poultry'....all Toms ...they are driving me and the 'guard dog' flocking nuts.....

Sorry for OT....

Even if you're being interviewed for 48 hours and "Inside Edition"?

I'm no professional, but I'm with you. I can honestly say that I believe a few years in jail would LOWER my self esteem, not RAISE it. :twocents:

So, by reading this motion, clearly ALV, is being affected by internet postings. IMO.
"JENNIFER WILLMOT #016826
Willmott & Associates, PLC"
Which is it? Willmot or Willmott? Or did JA edit this one too?

bbm

If I were in her shoes, making that realization, I would wet my bloomers when that thought really sank in. Oh my, imagine the feeling of no longer being sure of anything. At least that would be my feeling. I wonder if this has happened to her before. I'm thinking not, or she's a slow learner. If she had checked around just a little with some of TA's friends, as we all have been screaming all along, she might have begun to have some doubt. And ALV, IMO, seemed so adamant that men could not really & truly be abused...

I also think that by now, few of us have any compassion left for her, but ol' Jodi put the act on her in a big way, as she did so many, Travis being at the top of that list, bless him.

We all tend to believe what we want to believe.

Now what will she do?

BBM

That is EXACTLY what I saw on her befuddled face when he told her about Applebees and the '2 women'.

She was :waitasec: and then slowly she was bordering on :what: but then she regained her DT composure and tried to pretend like it was a misunderstanding.

Its probably on youtube at this time. Type Jodi Arias trial( with the number you want).

Alert! Katiecoollady is in her thread posting, the court observer thread. She is there now... she just got home.
