Hmmmm. You have given me an idea. What if Jodi was faking each of these ladies' ID and chatting to Travis.......AND what if Juanyummy has proof that it was actually Jodi? Like maybe her ip address. I noticed how he was specific about stating the whole name of each lady. Thoughts?

Perhaps this is what the forensic computer guy is going to testify about in rebuttal.

I was thinking the same thing...like the show "Catfish" on MTV....AND, there's a "rotating" IP address program a company offers for $19.95/mo.
You can change your IP to another address every 30 mins....it picks ones all over the US.

I don't question anything this beast is capable of, anymore.

THIS IS ABOUT ALV USING JM's WHOLE NAME IN ALMOST EVERY ANSWER

The fact that Juan does not respond by using her full name in every single question tells me that, contrary to HLN, his questioning and technique is considered and deliberate. It is designed to take advantage of witness manipulations and expose them to the jury.

Juan does not use a script because he is reading body language and responding to the witness in a very dynamic way. Pick any one of his famous lines from this trial--most of them are created by the defendant's answers.

I love this one:

Were you crying when you shot him? Were you crying when you stabbed him? Were you crying when you slit his throat?

You can't match this with carefully scripted questions as the HLN expert keeps insisting.

My favorite Juanism

"So you shot him in the head and it's you who gets the brain fog. Maam, were you shot in the head?"

So, am I right that ALV testified that she didn't interview anyone except JA? If that's the case, how did Aimee "tell her" about this manifesto? My brain is starting the day scrambled, I guess.

I wondered about that as well. She definitely said Aimee told her that, not that she "found out" or some other more nebulous way of saying it.

Well, that depends. Are we talking female Martians who did the killing?

:floorlaugh: Good point! :floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

He recently said he wants to be a detective. Yessss!!!! I can live vicariously through him!! I knew I did something right in raising that boy. ;)

See! We knew what we were doing even when we didn't think we did!! :great:
Good for him!! I hope he becomes a Det. Flores but you may have someone else in mind. I'm in awe of Flores's style!!

I thought once I got a break from work I would be able to just sit and watch but no.. after leaving my 21 y/o son (whose idea of cleaning is apparently to run the vacuum and load the dishwasher) at my house for nearly 3 months umm I had to find a way to actually clean and watch/listen, so what I've done is just drag the laptop from room to room while cleaning baseboards and doors and such. The ones closest to the laptop are the cleanest.

I took my laptop to the computer store and bought a "dongle" that allows me to show my laptop screen on my old-but-big-screen tv. I plug that up, then I run a red and white audio cord from my laptop to my stereo speakers.

Now I have trial coverage with NO COMMERCIALS on my tv and Surround Sound loud enough to be heard over running water.

I was watching Nancy Grace one night and she talked to one inmate and the inmate stated that JA had (not word for word) basically chopped up the person she killed and spread his parts throughout the desert. :what:

:floorlaugh: She did say that.

I still enjoyed JW expression when JM was asking ALV about Jodi's Manifesto. She was not happy. To me, it still goes back to being prepared and doing their job. They (DT) was shocked when JM showed JA the receipts from her filling up the gas cans in Utah. I am hopeful, that as the trial winds down sometime before Christmas, that we have many more "shocked" faces from the DT.

After reading your post, I was telling DH that the DT must have been praying all this time, "Please, please, please don't let them find out about the manifesto!" DH said, "Well, it must be a stunning work, considering it came from the mind of an Einstein!"

The TH's on HLN thought she was.

So I understand (I can't get to see those shows much).

The DT have a pretty obvious and much commented on system whereby the witness looks directly and shamelessly at the DT for an indication of the 'required' respnse, and gets an unambiguous nod or shake of the head answer to their plea for help.

Elaborate arm flings of the type seen here just seem so complicated, (and therefore prone to misunderstanding) compared to the simple but effective system already in operation, imo.

It's condescending, IMO. She's trying to equalise her perceived "power differential". I'm guessing it's all about power for LaViolette.

It IS condescending and I roll my eyes each time she says it. How many times did she say "Miss Willmott" during direct? I can't remember once, though, I didn't watch all of it. I had to mute it after the first day and just read along here.

I dread her re-direct with a passion. I know she will go on and on and on and on. I can only hope there aren't many jury questions so she can get off the stand and we can move on to the rebuttal case.

BBM~ Yes, I believe it is also.

If there was in fact 82,000 electronic exchanges between Travis and Jodi that it is alot to sift through.

I believe her computer history is under seal??? IIRC it stemmed from when she was representing herself but I may be wrong. I'll check.

119 minutes until we get the seal and then have to wait another 2 hours for the DT to stop whining about a mistrial!!

What was Einsteins IQ?
What is the killer's?
Mine is around 130-135ish...

Everyone tells me I am a fountain of incidental information...LOL...:floorlaugh:

IQ lower, but I'm a Roads Scholar for all the colleges I have attended. HA HA This trial needs a little levity.

  • #1,253
Fun fact: IQ tests were developed after Albert Einstein's death, so his IQ is not known.
Well, you know, Jodi must have estimated by comparing her accomplishments to his. He thought up the general theory of relativity, and she thought up using gas cans to try to hide her route. He calculated the mass-energy equivalence formula; she calculated that putting a camera in a washing machine would erase the pictures in it. Stuff like that.

Something I gotta get out. I admit there are many, many posts I haven't read, but there is one item I haven't come across, even in posts where it would fit in the dialog.
Its CANCUN....simply said & Timeline-wise, she was NOT going to allow him to go to CANCUN w/o her....I haven't seen this mentioned, and perhaps its importance to JA

Yep, I always thought it was odd JA made a entry in her journal about Travis and Mimi on their 3rd date, then she changes it to something like it's actually the "second and a half" date.
And, I know many on here agree right there with you about Cancun!!

All IMO, as always.

There's always a grain of truth sprinkled in with JA's lies. She probably did chop something up and spread its parts throughout the desert - but it was the dog she kicked, not TA.

So much is 'under seal' in this case. :banghead:

I'm hoping for some incriminating computer evidence, something like the evidence uncovered in the Melanie McGuire case. There were google searches that implicated her in the homicide. It'd be awesome if Jodi has searches on her computer like, "25 caliber, murder", "crime scene staging", "cleaning off DNA", etc.

I know but on the court watchers thread recently I learned that under seal doesn't mean it can't or won't be admitted. So who knows!!

Oh me too!!! I love me some Det. Flores!!

Did anyone catch the vid that mod, NurseBeeme posted?

Dr Drew interviewed someone from her town who knew her.
When she was asked if Jodi was known as brilliant in school, she said that Jodi never even showed up in school.

Now sometimes, like the movie Brilliant Mind depicted of mathematician, John Nash, some students don't go to classes. But John Nash was a supergenius and smarter than most of his fellow students and profs.

But Jodi... what was she doing?
