I'll be back in time for trial - save me a spot will ya please??

Couple random thoughts/questions I wanted to throw down here...

1. Just how much is HLN charging advertisers for commercial spots during this trial, relative to how much they would normally charge in those time slots?

2. Does anyone else find it mildly amusing how the judge will sometimes say "ooo-overruled", as if she isn't quite sure?

3. I can only imagine how hilarious it would be if Jodi remained her own lawyer. If she had though, could she still take the stand? How would she question herself?

4. I've seen Jodi's youtube page with the one video of Travis posted on 06/12/08. The account was created on May 29th, one day after the staged break-in and three days after the huge text fight. Does anyone think there is any significance to her opening the account at that time, or a coincidence?

#4 - JMO but with Jodi - there is no such thing as a coincidence, especially when it comes to TA.

If she did not like the man, she could have, should have just walked away...but this is what she did and for that she deserves punishment for it.
He was defenseless in a shower..

Oh and as for myself...
just like the child murderer MOM I will not buy anything that profits her in any way..

I took my laptop to the computer store and bought a "dongle" that allows me to show my laptop screen on my old-but-big-screen tv. I plug that up, then I run a red and white audio cord from my laptop to my stereo speakers.

Now I have trial coverage with NO COMMERCIALS on my tv and Surround Sound loud enough to be heard over running water.

*begins packing up Sidebar to move it over to Anagrammy's* :great:

ALV is really in a pickle, but I think she has been in this very same pickle before...only not such a high profile pickle,

like everyone is saying...we have to consider that the high profile aspect of this case has brought out the malingerers , who are willing to look at what they are GIVEN by the defense and make a determination, with absolutely ZERO, interfering information.

just as jodi made up her abused childhood, she also has made up her abusive relationship.

Juan has to expose her, and the judge should allow some of this exterior evidence in so that Juan can do his job..after all...Jodi gets like what 40 days worth of hearsay???

Juan should just take all the time he wants...

Thanks.
And wasn't she allegedly growing it?
Breaking the very first rule--don't get high on your own supply.

In her mothers tupperware on the roof where infrared surveillance would never see it glowing like a light bulb. :great:

Genius! :floorlaugh:

So will this manifesto be allowed in? The DT seemed shocked and totally unprepared when JM brought it up yesterday. This could be a HUGE blow to their case.

They were probably legitimately shocked... It appears that ALV wrote about it in the margin of some of her notes, so the DT probably glossed over it while they were creating their other lies. IMO it's similar to the messages on the magazine spines where they had it but didn't get it until JM smacked them with it. You would think that JW, who allegedly teaches trial practice, would know that the first rule of trial is that you know and understand every single piece of evidence backwards and forwards (like Juan!).

I just finished posting the last of the transcripts of Jodi's interrogation videos, for them as wants them.

I really found myself endlessly fascinated by her. For example, it's really obvious that she's just playing with Detective Blaney, she really wants Det. Flores to question her. At first I thought it was just because Flores was a man, and that's true, but it's also clear that she wanted to talk to him because he was in contact with Travis' family. I think she couldn't wait to get all the details of how they were suffering. JMO

TY for doing that! As I watched them, I kept wondering whether she was "close" to actually admitting anything. It seemed at times that she was but in the end I concluded that EVERYTHING was an act. She was calculating what would be best for Jodi. They were appealing to her, especially Det Blaney, by bringing up his family. But she cares nothing for anyone but herself.

And this behavior continues in the courtroom. She's such a schemer. She's stopped the sneaky folder-hiding business but she's moved on to getting jurors kicked off and brazenly staring down people in the gallery. Just like in the interrogation tapes, she is amusing herself. IMOO.

Does this mean Nurmi is going to get his way?

The manifesto attributed to Arias was not entered into evidence Monday. The contents of it remain unclear. The Huffington Post has filed an official request with the prosecutor's office for a copy of the manifesto, but an official there said it could take some time for the request to be approved.

"In light of the prosecutor's ethical duties under ER 3.6, the State is seeking guidance from the Court on the nature and degree to which future public records requests could or should be fulfilled for the duration of the trial. Accordingly, the County Attorney's Office will cease fulfilling public records requests for materials in this case until such determination is made. While County Attorney Bill Montgomery fully respects the fundamental rights of a free press in our community, he is equally compelled to ensure a fair trial for Ms. Arias and any other defendant in similar circumstances. We'll follow up with you when we get a ruling and let you know what we’re able to release," Maricopa County Attorney's Office spokesman Jerry Cobb told HuffPost.

They will cease fulfilling public information requests????? REALLY??

Juan brought it up yesterday and his line of questioning had nothing to do with the contents, just the claims made by this woman named "Amy" which involved signing a copy. Combined with the revelations regarding "high" self-esteem and her comparing herself to Einstein, Juan was showing how pathetic and narcissistic Jodi is. Surely, some on the jury had flashbacks of her, "No jury will ever convict me" proclamation.

The majority could just be one line text messages back and forth. I know from having my DD on my phone plan - that gal can do some texting. Most young people can. I would rather talk than text, but I have seen my bill (unlimited texting thank God) and in a month she can have 2,000

I was joking with some friends the other day, saying I leave a message on my son's voicemail and he will TEXT me back: what do you want? :floorlaugh: Their kids pretty much do the same. And these are adult children we're talking about, twenties and thirties. Sometimes I have to text back that it's too long for a text, please call me -- then I get a call. But, yeah, texting is what they do.

Did anyone catch the vid that mod, NurseBeeme posted?

Dr Drew interviewed someone from her town who knew her.
When she was asked if Jodi was known as brilliant in school, she said that Jodi never even showed up in school.

Now sometimes, like the movie Brilliant Mind depicted of mathematician, John Nash, some students don't go to classes. But John Nash was a supergenius and smarter than most of his fellow students and profs.

But Jodi... what was she doing?

In her early studies of "The Big Bang Theroy":thewave:

This witness is a Smart A**. We need Judge Belvin Perry in this courtroom. Judge Stephens is too meek, imo.

I'm sorry Mr. Martinez, I don't know the age of the Martians. ;)

Hey Katie:seeya:

just wanted to say I :star: loved :star: the point you made in your notes that Juan is using this witness to get a LOT of new info to the jury. ITA!! :rocker: and cannot wait to hear what else he brings up today out of those text messages

OH-I also read Jodi's lips where she is sitting with the mig specialist..I did not get all of what she is saying b/c Jodi talks really fast & runs her words together, but she is asking the MS about someone and the only part I could get was Jodi telling her-he refused!!
I know its probably not important, but I thought I'd let you all know!!

Good morning, y'all! :seeya:

Today's drinking game:

Every time ALV says the word "CONTEXT", take a swig. We'll be chit-faced by noon Az time.

I've said before that I think games where you know a paramedic is going to be involved is a bad idea! :floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

I have wondered about JA's computer also. The only drives testified to, were Travis' laptop and Jodi's broken drive. From the sound of expert testimony it appears this broken drive was an external one. Is this the case or am I mistaken? If it an external drive why was there no talk by experts regarding her laptop?

Isn't it possible, and I know you are going to say she didn't have access to a washing machine, but, isn't it possible, that it was damaged, during a wash cycle?

:great:

Guess we'll have to wait for rebuttal...

Does anybody else think Juan is slow boiling this witness on the stand?

1st day - he reminds her of her lowly education being represented as higher than it actually is. Bound to get her blood warming.
2nd day - he calls her a lie-ah-, sorry a lie detector.

I loved the second one as he chose his words and the way he said it very carefully. He was always going to compare her to a human lie detector, but using the word lie, then his ah, then the words lie detector.
Lie-ah!

Up to a simmer now, if she did indeed catch that the way I did.

She'll be at boiling point by the time Juan finishes with her. Hoping to see her lose her temper or start ranting at that point :please:

Given her use of the example of the frog boiling, I suspect JM is smart enough to just do that. The art and irony of it by JM is quite amusing.
