So I totally understand how TA might have expressed concerns that she was a stalker, but might continue to communicate with her. Jodi is a pathological sociopath. She knows how to get under his skin.

I'm sure, katy, that you wanted to, in a manner of speaking, put her in a crate & ship her one-way to Siberia. It was your son she was hurting, your little boy. (I have one, too -- he's 31 y/o, happily married, and they have a 5m/o daughter -- but he's still my little boy.)

And my DH & I had a friend -- he was the ex of my college roomie & BFF -- and he was charged & convicted of "Stalking" (a misdemeanor), when he was about 49 or 50, and given a suspended sentence. He was a highly paid & well-known & respected CFO of a good company here, had re-married a great woman & had a daughter my son's age. He was stalking (and did no more than that, but still...) a high school girl -- younger than his own daughter. He lost his job, his house, and his wife. So it does happen, and apparently LE will arrest and the prosecutors will prosecute stalking. And we're not in a small town with very little crime -- Raleigh has a population of around 420,000. So it is a crime that law & order will pursue.

And that's my brush with stalking.

And katy, I hope your son is indeed in LE, and safe and feeling good about who he is and the job he does.

So, LaViolette says that people who are stalked generally do something about it - like get a restraining order or make a police report.

Before I make a comment about this, I have a question -- did ALV ever define what she means by stalking? Is she talking about the definition of a criminal offense or "stalking" as the word is just commonly used or what?

She didn't give a complete definition, just added stuff as she went along. But her definition is just that, hers. Others would disagree.

I think Jodi's post-murder sexual encounter with Ryan Burns is her typical getting-to-know-you mo. She settled atop him to sleep, she "adjusted" him, he described her actions as "very aggressive"... he was the one who stopped things from progressing further and iirc this was the first time they'd been alone together. She was similarly assertive with Travis, if not more so.

I bet she got a sexual thrill from the murder. You have to wonder what she's done before. So disgusting.

I have a question that has been bothering me...the defense has referenced it quite a few times during the trial and it seems to be part of the reason why Jodi was so-called abused.

Their first sexual encounter, oral sex, was upsetting to Jodi because she felt it was too soon. Why is this used as part of her being abused? She never made it known to TA that she was uncomfortable/didnt want it and she never said NO! Fear of rejection is HER craziness not his. How was he to know she wasnt enjoying it fully if she never said no and she never said she was uncomfortable! Same with anal sex...I dont get where this is a serious issue with TA when it was never made known she had issues with it, and in fact quite the contrary, she acted like it was great. I feel like i am missing something here since so much time and energy has been spent fighting over this....what am I missing?

I think the whole concept of her NOT liking their first sexual encounter is flawed all together.

IIRCC, she told DB that they would no longer have sex (perhaps not those exact words) and she moved into another bedroom. This was when she first met TA. She wanted to convert to Mormon.

This doesn't fit, compute, whatever way one puts it.

She's going to become a Mormon and won't have sex. But then she CLAIMS they had ehhh, not sex on the first date? Then they break up and she moves to Mesa from Palm Desert?! :what:

JA is a sexual deviant..period. Just ask her former friend DB, if you can nail him down. She sneaked up on him in the shower and started snapping pics. He wasn't happy about that.

She coached TA into her web. He was the one who was abused. I think that he had no intention of ever visiting her in CA. He was starting to learn how to handle her. He would pay her compliments and tell her w/e he thought she needed to hear to keep her at bay. At some level, this was self-preservation.

I don't believe she was invited to his home that day. IF he had sex with her, it was done to calm her down, as she is the one who needed the sex every time she got nervous/antsy/irritable. Sex was a drug to JA and Travis was her dealer.

I'm not sure she's deviant per say, but she definitely comes across as sexually aggressive and confident. Not the demure, easily pressured type.

Do people on websleuths with teenagers "Know" that it's not uncommon for teenagers to be untruthful?

I have no kids, but I have 2 nieces and a nephew, who've reached or passed the teen stage, and I can't say that they were "untruthful" teens. Why does ALV think it's normal for teenagers to be liars? Isn't that to do with raising and environment and not to do with being a teen?

Did you notice that when JM was questioning her with the jury out of the room she didn't seem to have that problem? Answered all questions without any of her antics. And on two occasions, when she thought she had him riled up enough, she actually called him out in front of the jury. "Are you angry at me Mr Martinez?" and "If you were in my group I'd put you in a timeout". I'm sure she was hoping he would snap and throw something at her LOL. Which fits in with the defense motion for a mistrial about prosecutorial misconduct due to JM's "abuse" of the witnesses and his throwing a pen and disparaging the defense team.

When I watch this trial with ALV on the stand, I'm inclined to believe this whole defense was her idea and planning, and that she's continuing to have input. She's got JA's story down better than JA herself, as we saw today with the conflicting information, but can't seem to remember anything else. JA parroted words that ALV uses too. No coincidence that ALV showed up in 2010when JA was convinced to change her story by Nurmi and Samuels IMO. I bet after she read all those journals and "collateral" evidence she had a nice plan for them all.

BINGO! I think ALV was initially hired by the DT as a consultant, educating DT on their strategic options and consulting on credible DV experts. She has much more experience as a consultant than an expert witness, but probably couldn't bring on anyone in her field to testify as the "expert" so she had to do it herself, becomes Consultant/expert to DT.

Another thing, notes of a DT "consultant" would not be handed over to the prosecution. The notes of an expert witness, always. Maybe this is why ALV seemed so hostile when confronted with her own notes? It does seem like she took notes as if she never expected to hand them over to JM.

I agree that is was JA that was the sex-addict. She used this as a tool with all the guys she was with when she left her home when she was a Soph in high school. She had no CONTROL over her parents and left. Instead, she went after Men that she could control, and she failed on several attempts. Travis figured her out after he allowed this "devil" into his life. It was too late for Travis. He was the man she wanted and when she lost "CONTROL", she got rid of him and was moving on to the next one.

I don't think her assumption is necessarily wrong, but given Arias' actions post murder... I'd say it was significant piece of info. Arias is a fearless liar. Just watch the 48 Hours interview tape; she's undaunted despite the mountain of evidence against her. That takes a special breed... and someone with that ability doesn't acquire it overnight, and certainly not in such a high stress situation.
