I know, the quote thingy went haywire for a bit

I mainly posted that because I found it amusing that Ebay shut her down :)

BTW, Ebay shutting her down and her new website came straight from the horse's mouth via Donovan on twitter

Hey! Don't insult horses!

Ok....I watched the whole thing again...so much I missed the first time because I could not believe what she was saying.

Another thing I caught was the Alyce said when she first met Jodi, that Jodi thought she was NOT abused...but it was more give and take (equal power)...it was ALYCE that told Jodi she was abused. Alyce set up her defense...and then of course we all know she gave Jodi books so she could educate herself on Battered Woman's Syndrome.

This makes Alyce ever more responsible for the defense.

I agree, she said she met for the first time with ja Oct 2011, it was in 2010 that ja came up with the abuse defense...

Is that a bullet-proof vest?

I don't think so, I think it's just ugly wear.
I could be wrong!

I think one of the questions from the jurors today was something like, "Have any of your past patients killed their partner?"

Answer: Yes

I wondered if the Juror that asked that question wanted to see how effective she was as a Counselor.

And didn't it take her FOREVER to come up with 2? Or maybe that was how many women in your group over the years have killed male partners.

Over 30 years and only 2 men killed by women? That's not a lot of experience with women as abusers ...

Going to be for realz now.

One of the few times a question was answered with a one word answer, then pursed her lips to stop anything that might give Mr. Martinez a chance to question her in detail.
Self Preservation.

Curious to see if court will be delayed with another Mistrial request.
Client can't get fair trial with in unsafe court... yada yada..
and ..that sort of seriously worries me...

Looks like JW's hand-me-downs from the 70's.

Funny BB - I don't think JA is wearing a bp vest in court - just her trusty belt that can be jolted any time. (This is what she is covering up with the sweater over the left sleeve some days to hide from the jurors but recently covers up entire frontal area - Maybe in some trouble for doing something bad? Who knows...).

The Hughes have been added?

I actually read they won't be called. That was last week that report came out. I guess we'll know for sure in a week or so.

The biggie of the day for me was when Alyce said she had read that Matt never saw evidence of physical violence between Travis and Jodi.

Juan questioned Jodi on who she told about the violence and she said Matt, and that he had seen bruises on her neck.

And Matt has stated that he WOULD lie for JA.

Just heard Donovan answer a question from a caller about when she met JA. I thought I heard her say she's known her for about 6 years, that they met when JA first moved to Arizona and when she was first in the Estrella jail. Did she meet her before jail or in jail? JA has been in jail since 2008, when she killed Travis, not before that I know of.
I just listened again and she did say since she first came to the jail. I guess Donovan's memory isn't very good, either.

Watching the TH's and Donavan Bering said she met Jodi in 2007. I thought they met in jail.

Looks like SHE was the one leading the double life. A "good mormon girl" LOL hanging out with an arsonist???

I think I heard Mr. Hughes being interviewed on some TV show recently. That would tell me they will NOT be called for rebut.

I think they made a cute, young couple..Course we know how that worked out. I sure wish JA would have not watched that Pre Paid Legal video.
I agree. I've little doubt though we'd still have been here at some point and the title of this thread would be (Some other innocent person's name) - The State Vs JA. JA is evil

Hard to tell - I heard the same thing. I assumed "Donnivan" was a woman that met JA in jail but maybe "she" just met "her" at the jail.....:what:

Same people that stole Juan's psychologist's computer???

Seems Jodi made a lot of nice friends in and out of jail.
My bet's on Donovan...

The thing to remember is the questions were asked in the order they were received. That means they started when JW was questioning the expert. She sounded fairly credible until JM got a hold of her. You can feel the change in the questions. They listened to what JM said and felt he made sense. They wanted to know the answers to the questions that she was too evasive to answer directly.
I also get the feeling that some of the jurors were playing devil's advocate. They were trying on AVL's opinions and wanted her to expound on them to see if they held up or if they fell apart as it seemed they did. They seemed to be trying to give her the benefit of doubt given her reputation and good work she has done. How they assimilated those answers remains to be seen.

Embellishment - Remember one of the juror questions from today? Didn't JA's friends embellish to help her? Maybe Donnibun only knew who JA for 4 years. She just threw in a couple extra?

Great post, Puzzler! Such good points. I've heard a lot of people say that she killed him because if she couldn't have him, nobody else would. But I don't necessarily think it's that simple. I don't think it's just a scorned love thing, I think it goes deeper. And let's face it, Jodi is not capable of any type of love.

Did you notice how when Detective Flores tells her during the initial interrogation that her motive was jealousy, she genuinely (I use that word loosely) seems to deny that and almost catches herself up in wanting to explain more of a motive for just a quick second but doesn't really say more. But she's pretty direct that it wasn't jealousy. I just found that moment to be interesting.

I agree that this was much more about control and her ticket to opportunity. Yes no doubt she definitely was jealous of those other girls, but not so much because she was head over heels in love with him. Rather more so because she couldn't control him and those girls were getting something she wanted.

She so desperately wanted him and his life - the whole package. He held the ticket to her getting out of Yreka and staying out of Yreka once and for all. All those trips they took, the big house, the business opportunities, the potential of marriage... was all a taste of the good life for her. And he could take it all away from her at any moment, and was fighting hard to do that. It was his life and his circle, not hers. I do think she desperately tried to blackmail him and he wasn't having it.

I think she wanted him gone because her opportunity had clearly passed, she was furious about that and had run out of options. She couldn't let him stand in her way. All of those horrific wounds are clearly from somebody who has intense rage and hatred, which I have to imagine is born out of more than simple jealousy.

Of course, this is all just speculation. Just my take on all I have absorbed.

One more thing to add to my point... the premeditation is so easy to see with this motive. And the prosecution, I believe, has clearly proven the premeditation.

The DT is throwing out self defense, abuse, PTSD and all other sorts of nonsense because it's easier for most people to believe that murders, especially female murderers, can only commit these types of terrible crimes in a defense or rage type of situation.

But the sad reality is that people do indeed kill each other every day for just plain evil and greedy reasons.

OK - Then I want to know EXACTLY how many jurors asked questions and on WHICH days. I was not aware there was someone keeping an "Eagle Eye" on the jurors. I mean if someone is keeping track, I want the full results, don't you?

I think some people might have slipped them in unnoticed, while others did so more obviously.

In the thread ' court observations' there have been comments about seeing certain jurors place questions in the basket. Juror #5 reportedly asked a whole lot of questions. I think she might have asked the sarcastic 'haircut' question. Maybe that is why they wanted t get rid of her.
