Alyce's 'tripe'? Are you kidding me?

She has clearly explained the processes behind domestic violence. I say no one is getting it because everyone is saying things like 'tripe.'

Obviousy, a psychopath living a double life would not be bothered by emotion. But, a man with emotions would be. Alyce made it clear that when guilt turns to anger, then how the man deals with it has a lot to do with how he saw anger modeled in his family of origin, among other things.

It is most associated with men statistically for a few reasons. Men are not taught to process their emotions, and anger is a more acceptable emotion to men than guilt. And, men usually have the upper hand in the power differential.

As Alyce said, a power differential between two people is ok if the one with more power isn't an abuser.

IMO

Yup. Her tripe. I actually believe any statistics stating that could be wrong because how many men are going to admit they are being abused by a woman with anger and rage issues?

Travis had anger towards her. Whoooopiedooo. She deserved it. However, he did not have RAGE and did nothing wrong or inappropriate in his actions towards her (from the evidence we have).

and in regards to anger.......who on this Earth does not express anger? The most sane person will express anger when it is deserved! It is not a sign of abuse like Alyce tried to tell everyone. her ideas of domestic violence are warped and completely irrational. And she still sat there with the audacity to say that Jodie was never a stalker/abuser, etc.

Who was the one in that relationship with more power and was the abuser? it was most certainly NOT Travis! It was that woman - Jodi!
Yeah, she spewed a bunch of tripe.

This reminds me - didn't she say something like, "she lied because she was scared," because if so...

She is on on trial for MURDER, facing the DEATH PENALTY, she's not scared NOW? If she is scared that she has to spend the rest of her life in jail, at the minimum, or get the death penalty, at the maximum, wouldn't she STILL be lying to get away with it? Their logic is hard to swallow.

not only that, but she apparently is such a saint that she sat in jail for TWO YEARS, charged with first degree murder, to protect the reputation of a dead man, before FINALLY telling the 'true' story.

how much sense does THAT make?

Good point!

Just saying
I truly believe nurmi, gave birth to the pedophilia story, It's his specialty. I just wonder how many families have been falsely accused because of his need to win at all costs and that's what this trial has been for them.

I haven't read overnight discussion other than the Jury Question Poll and have a few things to do before the trial starts today. I just want to mention some of the problems that I find with ALV's answers to the jury questions and, generally, issues that I've had all along with ALV's testimony.

ALV admitted that she doesn't do emails, texting, etc. yet continues to suggest that she can glean all she needs to know about a person by reading same and/or the collaborative writings of others about Jodi and Travis. Instant communication via internet, mobile devices, cell phones, etc. has become a language of its own and in order to understand the subtle nuances involved, ALV needs to familiarize herself with it before she makes broad statements as if she is an expert on communication in the new millennium.

I am offended by ALV's arrogance in suggesting that she knows what people are thinking, feeling, and their motivation through their emails and other messaging formats. She wants to pass herself off as a literary scholar who knows instinctively what is meant by anyone's written word. Some of the greatest literary scholars often disagree on interpretations of authors' works. This doesn't mean that one critic is right and the other is wrong. It simply means that they interpret the written word differently based on their knowledge of the author and the period during which the work was written.

I'll be back when the trial starts. Looking forward to continued questions from this awesome jury.

Exactly. I was saying something similar yesterday. That ALV admits that she has no experience with this form of communication, yet she wants people to take at face value that she can understand it. The older people on the jury may be like her, though, and think the same thing. We'll see.

That's fine. You just can't complain, though, about the horror show we're witnessing and Travis' memory being dragged through the mud.

IMO

Well....yes, I can complain. :twocents:

ALV: "Hi Jodi, First I would like to apologize to you right off the bat. So sorry to intrude on your personal life. But here are some books to familiarize yourself with DV. If you think you can fit your story to the info in these books, I can probably keep your guilty-*** off death row. Have a read and see if you can make it fit. We will discuss strategy on our next visit." *wink, *nod

bbm
good morning all,

alv first question: did you have to calm ta's anger with sex to make him feel normal? nod wink alv to ja say yes. ok good putting that in my notes. shameful :moo:

I just was watching CNN and Baez was on talking about the harassment of LV and it should be against the law. I think intentionally lying on the stand IS against the law and ALV should be ashamed of herself.

You have to keep in mind the questions are being read in the order they were submitted.
The witness was on direct for 6 days with Willmott.

That is why the questions seem to contradict each other even after she has answered a similar question...:rocker:

I think "tripe" is very generous of you. I called it "a flaming bag of poo"

I think it's revealing that she quotes Edgar Cayce as an inspiration. IIRC, he vvas a fake psychic and con-artist. (Sorry about the spelling--my double-u key doesn't vvork, hence the double-vvs.)

YES. maybe she'll be quoting Nostradamus next

I just got up & went to bed early! I slept good! GM all!! :)

thanks :seeya:, but we must remember she stated she only saw what the defense gave her.

Her inquisitive mind really blows me away.

All reference to Travis being taken in and raised by his grandparents at eight years of age has been conveniently left out of LaViolette's testimony.
Well, that doesn't count, he was practically an adult. Already damaged, destined to be a bad man. [/sarcasm]

Travis does not fit in that box. He was not living with Jodi. He was in his own home. She did not have to be around him and he certainly did not feel guilty because he was dating other women. It does not appear that was ever a problem for him. Alyce is trying to stuff him into one of those DV boxes and Travis does not fit. There is nothing "domestic" about Travis and Jodi's relationship. JM has already proved in court that the day Jodi said she saw Travis with the pictures she was not there. He did this through the text messages between them. She worked until 6pm and he was at his meeting at 7pm. She went to bed with a migraine once she was home. It never happened. If it never happened then what are the chances the broken finger happened the following day...zero....since we have all seen Flores' interview with her where she shows him her left hand where the tendons were cut from the knife she claims the ninja had as she tried to protect herself. Flores calls her on it and tells her he was seen that type of wound before when someone stabs their victim and their hand slips on the knife. If she lied about those two days and the State can prove it and it is reflected in her journal that nothing significant happened those two days no amount of abuse that she claims happened can be believed. There goes Alyce's theory right out the window.

:goodpost:

Most of the relationship description comes from Jodi and her journals. When you live in "another world" it is described that way when discussing or writing about it.

Jodi and Travis dated for about 5 months and then she became a booty call. She was never forced to run to him everytime he wanted sex with her. They did not have a long term dating relationship. She became his booty call because she was obsessed with him and did not want him to get away.

We all want to know. Because the texts from Travis aren't specific in nature I'm afraid we'll never know. I believe one reason is the May 10 sex tape. She secretly recorded it and was going to use it against Travis as in, tell his Bishop, PPL colleagues and his friends. I hate her more everyday.

Jodi said on the stand that these texts were sparked by a phone argument over his alleged pedophilia. Conveniently there are no texts to support her claim because she told Nurmi that she preferred not to talk about this issue through text messages. Again, how convenient.

OK, we're missing Weebles and Horace. :(

She also doesn't know or understand the relationship between Travis and any of his friends.

I thought Jodi had the fake letters while trying to act as her own attorney? Before Nurmi?
