If that's what she said then yes I would concur that it could mean she needs to retain counsel.

Hope she has PPL!

There was this one motion AND the issue of public harrassment is one of the issues.
Attaching (have a feeling JA wrote the first page due to absurd pretentiousness)

Thanks.

According to the motion posted by lil buddy, "Note should also be made of the fact that the conduct described above has ramifications that effect the ability of Ms. Arias to present her defense as the public response to this unprofessional conduct has involved berating witnesses via email, telephone and in various internet forums. Said action has not only caused personal distress to these witnesses but has made it difficult for them to provide effective testimony for Ms. Arias."

Thanks for letting us know when Juan steps up, I'm skipping all of Willmott .. can't be bothered really ...

Except....she had a total brainfart/meltdown/fognesia moment....which was priceless Imo.

Does someone have that cued up for MrsG? She would love it...

5) The manifesto
6) Seeing how very cool Juan is even when the witness is hostile
7) Seeing JA at her most 'animated'

ETA I forgot one. The keynote breakout speakers. That was a right clanger and if I lived on your side of the pond, I'd be using that at work.

8. pronunciation of the word sure >> SHORE :giggle:

Why is Wilmott smiling after the judge overrules her objections?

It's so bizarre and petty. Am I missing something here?

I am just wracking my brain trying to figure out why they want ALV back. I loved the judges no nonsense response to ALV's feeble excuses "I don't want to hear your personal issues, this is top priority".

Whatever it is, it's got to be very important. I hope someone finds out. Maybe they will update the docket with details??
I would love if it had to do with approaching the family...but think it may have to do with the backlash on social media.

Jus thinking aloud..could her lies about testifying for men or other conflicting things on her cv be grounds for a perjury charge??

:seeya: That's what I was wondering as well -- Mr. Martinez really jumped on her "CV" !

But as usual, Mr. Martinez was 10 steps ahead of her .. He wanted that name, and how convenient she couldn't remember the name ...

Ah ... it seems she's gotten a bit of Jodi's fognesia ...

:moo:

Wondering: will ALV be paid to come back if its not to testify? Maybe the fact she won't be getting paid (if that's the case) for this Tuesday appearance has something to do with her sour face and trying to get out of it?

If Ms. ALV is found to have lied on her CV, misrepresented her testimony on her previous testimony experiences and so on, would this finally be the issue that just might give Nurmi grounds for a mis-trial??? Maybe I should put this question on the legal thread.

Good Lord it crossed my mind too. MOMMY! (my F word)

O/T"
For those following Jessica Ridgeway case, AS pled not guilty this morning.

Thank you MidwestMama, I think of the little girl all the time. I am hoping for LWOP for him. :seeya:

In Nurmi's request for mistrial, because of prosecutorial misconduct, part of his complaint was that the expert witnesses could not successfully testify because of problems with social media blowback. I wonder if they are calling her back to testify to that?

I think you're right. I also think that may be why the judge said she didn't want to hear about her personal issues, especially if they were related to medical treatment or similar. That would be evidence for the hearing and not something to discuss off the record directly to the judge today. jmo

I read he had a bad cough yesterday. Poor guy, I hope he gets well soon.

I remember hearing him cough today and both JW and KN quickly looked toward the jury box - which at the time, I thought was strange, considering it was "just" a cough. Sounds like it was more serious than I thought.

Alyce never changed her testimony so what is the point??

This is the age of the internet, so they need to suck it up.

We have a right to see what happens in our courts.

Health issue, reportedly.

HLN initially had the wrong juror identified.

He is described as Hispanic with skull and crossbones attire.

And I believe he was the oldest, 70.

Wow. I was home sick again so able to watch the live feed when not on the phone. What a day!

Judge S seemed, to me, really ticked off at ALV at the very end when they were discussing the "other issue" she needs to be there for (under subpoena, which means it is very unlikely to be anything she's getting paid for).

In your professional opinion would it be likely then if it's something she's under subpoena for coupled with the comment the judge made about her "making arrangements" (came across like she needed to find legal representation) that is may be related to her courtroom behavior? Being combative with JM after being admonished, approaching Samantha, or mentioning in an almost defiant manner in her response to juror questions that it's illegal for her to talk to TA's family...all examples of poor courtroom conduct.

Arghhh I can't enlarge it to read it:(

Linda - I don't know if this is an issue with your funky-phone-forum-reading-software but in a normal browser when u click on the image of the doc, it downloads to your computer.

IMO she was the worst ...unprepared, unprofessional expert I have ever seen testify! And I've watched too many trials to accurately count over the years. I've never seen anything like it...ever.

Seems to me Juan was ready to impeach her on how many times she had testified -- when the DT jumped up and approached for 10 minutes then went in chambers. I'm betting it has something to do with the fact she has never testified and she is going to dig up this ONE report she made.

ITA. I'm thinking impeachment of some sort. Juan seemed to centered on that. Jmo

Can someone bring us slackers up-to-date? Why isn't there any court? What happened?
Thanks Sleuthers!
