I didn't get my confidence or self esteem back until I divorced my 2 abusive ex's. Still have an ingrained "Flight or Fight" response, which is good! (well, and carry a .357 mag, but that's just for varmints!)

I can relate....same thing with me. I have a fairly good ducking reflex too...helps me out at work sometimes.

Just got here so I hope this wasn't discussed earlier...

Since JM stipulated she didn't have a knife during THIS photo...no one testified she did????...is the DT going to admit this into evidence and who's going to testify??? Or is this just so JM can't say she did in rebuttal or closing???

I'm a bit confused! :banghead:

No one even mentioned she was holding anything in that photo I honestly think they are clutching at straws.

I trust juan and if he stipulated to it, it really means nothing in the grand scheme of things.

I'm just so tired of poor little Jodi and her neverendingstory story of woe and wooden spoons. She killed Travis, no question there. She overkilled him brutally and then went on to hump another man the next night. Why it is taking so long to get her convicted and settled on death row is an incredible waste of money and an outrage.

She should be ashamed of herself for demanding millions to defend her for something she obviously, undeniably did. That money could be better used to help REAL victims, not the obviously and un-remorsefully guilty. She is using this trial to continue to assassinate Travis and to inflict pain on his family.

Where is her remorse or self accountability? It doesn't exist. There is nothing salvageable about her, no trace of humanity. I, for one, will be so glad to hear the words "guilty" and watch her escorted off to her prison forever.

But i guess if it takes millions to make that happen then in the end it will be worth it to make sure that she can't complain she had inadequate council. It will be worth it to obtain justice for Travis and for his grieving family.

meh, I'm just venting. So much tragedy, sadness and ugliness in the world and yet Jodi still thinks she is the victim that everyone should feel bad for and pat her and comfort her.

So, I watched, but fast forwarded through, yesterday morning's shenanigans.

I think I saw a dog too in the eyeball reflection! :what:

I find the constant "mistrial" requests (begging) from the DT to just be utterly laughable.

And it seems things are getting very personal between the tow "sides". VERY hypocritical of the DT to "admonish" JM for his "star" status, that he has zero control over, yet it's OK for the murderer to "tweet" digs at the prosecutor!!

-------

And while I am VERY happy to have been working for the past three weeks, I almost wish I were sill unemployed...coz, damn, I do not want to miss the rebuttal! Coming home on lunch to catch a little of the trial never seems to work, coz, you know....it ALWAYS starts late!!! But thanks G-d for the the time difference...tuning in at 4:30pm NY time! So will be catching as much as I can!

Have a great day everybody!!

Watching and hearing early morning news reports from Boston makes me gag at the thought of JA's trying to be excused for the blatant, planned and disgusting crime she committed.

Morning,

I am so behind I do not know where to start. I am in MA so the bombing has been front line here. Already at work and will try to read up at some point.

Horace Finkelstein said:
Jodi does and says lots of random, nonsensical things. Why did she do a handstand in the interrogation room? Who knows. It's just part of her bizarre nature, not proof of anything IMO.

It was vain, not nonsensical. Mark Englarsh explained that one of his readers told him doing headstands was a beauty pageant trick to bring color and life to the complexion. Jodi had criiticized herself aloud in the interrogation room for not doing her makeup that day, and she asked Detective Flores, "This is really trivial and is going to reveal how shallow I am but can I clean myself up a little bit?" before having her mugshot taken.

Detective Flores said they'd take her as she is. That's also why she was tossing her hair around while she was sitting on the floor in handcuffs: Trying to fluff her hair out so she'd look better in her mug shot.

Afterwards, she explained why she was smiling in her mug shot:

:seeya: Good Morning, The Farm! Saw the following post a few minutes ago, and thought of you... This pretty much sums up the day:

1. The victim's siblings sat feet away from the killer, until the horror of that was finally fixed by placing the killer at the other end of the court room.
2. Hours were spent on what may or may not be seen in the victim's eye. Finally stipulated that the reflection does not show some one holding a weapon.
3. JM did not prosecutorially misconduct.
4. Jodi tweeted, and the sheriff controls what she does, unless it adversley affects the trial

So, you really didn't miss much yesterday... Just more displays of desperation from the DT, at the taxpayers' expense. :banghead:

ETA: I hope all your family & friends there in MA are safe... You're all in my prayers!

What a bizarre day! Between the bombings and the Mexican Chihuahua I felt like I entered the twilight zone. And, honestly, I felt like I was walking around in a REAL fog. I never understood the DT's tactics from day 1, but today was extremely freaky. Did they really draw a stick figure in Travis' eye? I loved it when JM referred to it as a dog -- best part of the day!

Yet, my heart aches for those who are suffering in Boston. May they find peace and speedy recoveries.

MOO

I think the defense wants to argue that she was merely taking pictures and didn't corner him in the shower, making him sit in a vulnerable position to stab him. They somehow think that this will make her story of dropping the camera more believable.

I agree with you and others - it's nuts. I think JM just thought it was better to stipulate that she didn't have weapons out by that time rather than allowing the DT to make a huge issue out of it, possibly drawing attention to something that was never an issue with the jury to begin with. Smart move.

What a colossal waste of the court's time. The prosecution never said she had the weapons out in that picture. The fact remains, the evidence of premeditation is overwhelming and the brutal murder was carried out.

Does anyone else think the defence and Jodi all know the jig is up, but are deliberately stringing it out. Jodi, because she knows where she is about to spend the next ten years and the defence because it pays them to extend the proceedings for as long as possible. My partner suggested this to me the other day. It's not beyond the realm of possibilities...

Thanks so much, I did watch a little of the trial at work but once I got home and found out what had happened that was the end.
It happened at 3:50pm and I was already outside doing chores. When I got in the house to turn on HLN is when I realized what had happened.
Lot's of scary things in this world today. Oh and Jodi is certainly one of them.

It appeared yesterday when JM made the comment about "pennies in their kettle" about the DT it was obvious because when Nurmi is talking about JM's supposed misconduct he talks much faster. He only slows down when it comes to witnesses. jmo
