These state rebuttal witnesses are probably going to give JA lots of headaches in the coming days.

Yes, it reminds me of my mom telling us as kids, stop that ever lasting whining before I give you something TO CRY ABOUT!

JM is just getting started!:floorlaugh::floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

I notice when the deputy brought JA back in, he walked in front of her through the door. I find that a little surprising given all the 'stuff' he's got on his belt.

At the ~1:50 mark, JW flashes a little grin like she's really pleased with herself. Then Nurmi turns his back on the jury to talk to JW. That seems pretty disrespectful - he couldn't wait 5 seconds?

Who is the blonde the judge called up at the end? She carried a bag, so presumably she wasn't a courthouse employee.

I wondered if that was her grown daughter or niece or someone like that. No idea, just speculating.

I just caught this as well. Way to go Nancy for exposing Wilmotts incompetence. I can't believe JW was so stupid as to make such a false claim:what: Love how Nancy is critiquing JW's strategy as a yawn and a fail!

I'm pizzd that just when things finally started moving the duhfense has delayed using dirty pool tactics again. It's really getting pathetic and the judge needs to put her foot down about these supposed migrains.
And this is probably stated farther on but the very last thing Lenore Watkins said on NG, the very last thing, was that she saw (not a direct quote) no BWS in this case.

Just re-watching Dr. D now. The DT seems is trying to make something of Dr. D practicing while she was UNDER/SUPERVISED by another licensed psych, but isn't that what ALV STILL does?? She never got her license so what the heck!?!

:banghead:
Actually the Dr who supervises ALV's practice lost his license so ALV lost hers by default so she's stuck with conferences, expert testimony and re publishing her book. I'm not sure what the DT is trying to pull off but I've noticed they assume the jury is really stupid. Either that or they themselves are.
I'm thinking they're hoping some of the gray haired jurors will feel threatened by the young Dr trumping the wordly wisdom of her elders. They won't be. I have gray hair and I'm not threatened. IT's the way the world should be.
It's not who an expert is, but what they know that should count and the jury will know this. :twocents:

Watching JW cross examine this expert reminds me of Jodi when she used big words during her testimony. JW can't imitate Martinez bc she lacks the knowledge and expertise that JM has, IMO.

Good morning all :seeya:

Been a busy evening/night/morning for those in West, Texas. My thoughts and prayers are with those missing, injured, and passed. Such a terrible past couple of days.

That explosion was something fierce! :(

In regard to all the posts about Jodi sneaking pencils out of court, I started wondering what else she could want pencils for and found the following article:

"3 Inmates Swallow Pencils: Get out of Jail"

http://www.peoplesdefender.com/main.asp?SectionID=13&SubSectionID=83&ArticleID=135761

I started wondering if perhaps Jodi has a different intention for sneaking/stealing pencils other than the obvious and regular use... What other (nefarious) things can pencils be used for?

-Stabbing
-Swallowing
-put in her lips to pretend she's a vampire...lol!
-????

From your link:

To bring an end to the problem, the jail confiscated pencils previously issued to the inmates. Beginning Monday they have been issued two crayons a piece to use as writing utensils.

"The law requires that writing materials be issued so the inmates can communicate with legal counsel," Rogers said. "The crayons are more safe and less costly - and the jail doctor can handle any problems that might arise from the crayons."

Jodi needs crayons. :fence:

There must be clearly established rules/responses to jailed defendents' efforts to fraudulently prolong their trials; otherwise all the guilty as heck ones would do it. If true, JA is being treated differently, but why?

If you know anything about migraines, stress can be a major trigger. I have had migraines since I was a child and had them into my 30's. Once I left a very stressful job, I no longer had migraines.

I think when Dr. DeMarte took the stand and broke down Jodi's testimony, personality and all her excuses, it overwhelmed Jodi. You could tell from her obsessive drawing and note taking that she was angry and seething inside. The past few days have been very stressful for her.

There are different levels to migraines and some are more debilitating than others. You can have a migraine, take some medicine and still work or function. Other migraines which involve an aura, flashing lights, numbness on one side of your body, vomiting, pain, confusion, and sensitivity to lights can be debilitating.

Jodi seems to have a milder type and she probably could function fine taking medication. She is milking this condition so she does not have to listen to this Dr. peel back the layers and revel the monster. :furious:

How Will Jennifer Willmott Handle Her Huge Mistake of Challenging Dr.D. re: Lenore Walker's 6 Criteria?

I have to say that I am REALLY looking forward to how JW is going to clean up her mess from yesterday--her attempt to impeach the witness by suggesting that Dr.D was ignorant of the psychology surrounding Battered Women's Syndrome and insisting that Lenore Walker does NOT still use the 6 criteria.

JW asked her questions in a mocking, condescending and flippant, shrill tone--almost laughing out loud when Dr. D. said that Lenore Walker's 6 criteria were NOT in her original book, but were the result of current research AND that she still uses them (per interview on NG).

I would not be looking forward to facing Dr. D today if I were JW!!:floorlaugh::floorlaugh:

Oh--and the copyright thing was downright bizarre!

And also: JW's complete ignorance of a professional journal aggregated database where the employer purchases rights for access for employees is frightening. Does JW go to the law library to pick up an article in a law journal or does she use something like Lexus-Nexus for research? How does she NOT UNDERSTAND that this is how professionals access research and peer reviewed articles in their field? It boggles my mind.

ALV isn't a psychologist, she doesn't have her PhD. I think she's a licensed family counsellor or something similar.??

I agree the DT making an issue out of this was stupid. Dr. Demarte was practising for 9 years, despite not having her PhD earlier. The DT are desperate, hoping one juror will find Dr. Demarte less than credible.

For the record, I find JW to be a lousy attorney. LOL

She was practicing under a licensed psychologist while resuming her studies to complete her PhD. I think this is normal practice for someone who wishes to become a psychologist because the only way to get the experience is to actually have clients. I'm sure JW realizes this. It just shows she has nothing to work with and a perfect example is the copyrighted material. Obviously Dr. Samuels has issues with JM or JW would not have had a copy of that test.

My money is on Arias calling in sick today making it basically a five and a half day weekend ...

Would it surprise you that wallmart have NO record of you returning this gas can?

The look on her face was priceless.
I cant wait for the wallmart and Tesoro witnesses. I hope the DT are pooping their pants

Ha. I just saw that clip again recently. The killer had a quick look of guilt flash over her face...then she arrogantly and smugly looked to the jury and said "That would be surprising, since I DID return it that day..."

I bet Juan was dying to pull that letter of confirmation out of his pocket right then and there. Glad he is waiting to lock it in at rebuttal though. Juries like things that are absolute, black and white, and PROVABLE. She cooked her goose with that bald faced lie. JMO

I guess what makes JM great could be analyzed and described, but it can't be taught. How do you teach someone to remember everything he's read, seen, or heard about a case.... and be able to immediately recognize something that's untrue... and immediately and articulately expose and confront the untruth teller in court? JW? Nuh uh.

Please visit my website for information on my upcoming speaking schedule. True greatness of the soul is in loving God and in humility.

That's from ALV yesterday. Apparently the social media backlash hasn't affected her all that much. :floorlaugh:

That explosion was something fierce! :(

I haven't followed the news on the fertilizer plant--was it an accident? I'm overwhelmed with the heinousness of the Boston Marathon bombing at the moment, so hearing about that was horrible.

Ack. I am up late, 3rd time posting in 2 days, while trying to ween off obsessing over this case. As I’ve mentioned, I've only got this involved on WS with Kyron Horman’s case, and I was active there. I can’t stop watching this case, and am waiting for it to be over in due process, and pray for justice to prevail for Travis. I piped up for the first time after lurking for months yesterday.

Frustrated about the abrupt halt today, I went on croakerqueen123’s youtube. Somehow ended up on Day 25, Part 3.

Jodi Arias Trial - Day 25 - Part 3 - YouTube

Juan had established she left the camera by the bathtub (0:03:22), and then he asks if she was carrying the camera when she ran down the hallway, and her response is “not the first time I ran down the hallway” (0:04:26). At 0:11:01 we see Exhibit 163, a photo in the hallway.

Have I missed more blatant examination about the discrepancies here? I don’t recall Juan literally pointing out, “Hey, you just said you dropped the camera and it stayed there after he lunged at you, but this is a HALLWAY and Travis is obviously fatally bleeding,” in direct words, just dots to connect. Is that yet to come?

In the main picture used to show Jodi dragging Travis, I'd always thought the spot on the upper right was a pool of blood, didn’t see Travis' foot. But, I see it now. That perspective to me says that camera was on her, swinging from her on a strap, the entire time :/ Will this be point blank pointed out the the jurors, or just left to their note taking? Or do I need to rewatch more trial time? I have to listen on my earphones on my phone at work...

Again, up too late. Frustrated.

There was no strap recovered from the camera.

However, that "slip" does support one of my theories that she accidentally dropped the camera as she ran down the hallway to acquire a weapon. Probably telling Travis as he sat in the shower, "I'll be back" in a deep Arnold voice. Ok, maybe not like that, but you get my point. Or, she placed the camera in her right hand and pulled out the 25 with her left hand for the surprise attack. It failed and she panicked (causing the inadvertent ceiling shot), so she ran down the hallway in search for the knife while still gripping the camera but "accidentally" dropped it.
