DH thinks I have tipped over and completely become psychotic in watching this trial. He keeps saying I don't even know these people - how on earth could I possibly bet interested in this whole thing? I haven't told him that I pseudo-transcribe for others but I don't think he is feeling the love for my obsession. I don't have anyone to talk to about the trial except my peeps here.

In my opinion, the DT adding the Manslaughter option is just a way of saying, "Well, if you don't believe our lies about self-defense and DV, then maybe you'll pick this one instead." Some of the jury questions seem to give the idea that a few jurors might be leaning in the direction of "crime of passion" thinking. For instance, the "love/hate" questions regarding their relationship. Frankly, I think the crime of passion defense would have been more plausible for the defense and I'm surprised they didn't go with it to begin with. But the way I see it for the jury to pick this option they would have to not believe the words of Jodi Arias and the experts...and if they find her to be a liar willing to lie even under oath then why would they select a lesser charge to convict her of? It would make no sense. I really hope the judge does not allow it to be added, but I'm sure she will. I don't get how it's even legal to add a charge that isn't corroborated by your case. It would be different if they didn't put on a positive defense, by actively attempting to prove DV and self-defense, and just put those options out there for the jury to decide after considering all the facts. But they did. It's like backpedaling now to attempt to add this now after they realize that the jury may not be buying what they are trying to sell.

Not that I think it was a crime of passion, but I think the DT will say she decided to go see TA last minute with no pre-meditation of murder. The supposed heat of the moment happened once she got there. :sick:
