So was thinking again about Jodi dragging Travis back to the shower.

I still can't fathom how she physically did this? Part of me thinks there was a 3rd party involved. What do you guys think?

Its REALLY not that hard to do, especially if the floor is soaked with water and blood.......

In other words, no, I don't believe that there was anyone else involved.

Has anyone figured out what 'cork the pot' means?

Yes…and TRUST ME, you don't want to know!!! Google if you must, but don't say you weren't warned. No one here at WS is going to tell you (and remain a member).

IMO, Nurmi only hurt the defense with his X-exam of Deanna.

Poor thing, having to answer those questions in public.

Just awful.

After listening to DR's testimony yesterday and after viewing the sweet pics of her with TA, I was just simply moved to tears. Her gentle disposition is a gift.

Her presence must have made up for some of the emotional neglect he experienced in his early years.

Travis was blessed to have her in his life.

He left Napoleon to her is his will. He knew jodi was capable of killing him.

As much as Nurmi went way too far with regards to the Travis' alleged sexual deviancy,
Nurmi is doing his job to the best of his ability. He did not sign up for this. He had no choice to take on this case. moo

How can you be an exchange student if you're failing? Don't you take the cream of the crop? IIRC Jodi said after two weeks his parents were hiding him from her?

Oh, about the grades (sorry, I forgot.) Many of these kind of trips get bundled under "exchange" titles, but they do not actually involve living in a host country with a family as do traditional "exchange" programs.

If it is simply a study abroad opportunity, minimum GPA is not always a requirement. Many of them boil down to taking students who can afford the costs. There are often academically competitive programs where students who can't afford the tuition can win scholarships based on academic merit.

Traditional "exchange" programs involve significant screening and do require minimum GPA's.

Ok, sorry dani.

I did google and on the first page didn't see anything other than regular corks and clay pots.

I am not sure I will look beyond that and maybe stay a virgin on that topic. :blushing:

The # of words spoken about that will be equal to the # of questions the DT had for Walmart.

What we will likely hear is more lies to try to justify those that have already been exposed.

Anyone know if we will hear from the restaurant manager that failed to do anything about the bloody finger?

BBM
Regarding the photo of the bloody finger: was there testimony about which phone JA used to take this photo? IIRC the Helio she taped the phone sex on was "lost/stolen" about a week after the taping on May 10th, so that would mean that first Helio would be unavailable to take the photo of the injured finger on May 31st (not sure if that was the date she claimed the injury occurred, but I think that is it plus or minus a day). So that would mean the photo would have been retrieved from the second, replacement Helio. I just am not clear if there was testimony as to which Helio it was on. If it was on the "lost/stolen" phone, then that is yet another lie JA can be caught in, and she made that first Helio "lost/stolen" AFTER the murder.

I believe she told him her cell phone was hopelessly lost, and sadly, according to her, she was just trying something out, and she recorded the sex call, she planned to delete it, and now....geee gad, it is out there, floating around and could come into anyone's hands.
Of course he would not have believed that. If I recall correctly some of his friends said that the week before his murder he started to get REALLY freaked out about some stuff Jodi was pulling, that even for her....was way out there. I believe it was Taylor that he read , what I call his "go f yourself and the horse you rode in on" message to Jodi, he read it to Taylor to show how explicit he was being telling her it is OVER, FOREVER. The friend asked him, OMG, buddy, aren't you afraid she is going to hurt you after getting something like that? He mentioned that Travis had already went to the Bishop about him and Jodi, so there was nothing she could do to him in that way, but his friend was literally afraid for Travis' LIFE. I am just surmising that it was after the sex tape.

She got the Helio phone, that records, from Gus, who seemed to have a real disdain for Travis and Chris Hughes. Gus said that he told Jodi straight up that Travis was using her for sex, and dating his good Mormon girls, looking for a wife, she was just being used. I think between Gus and Jodi the plan to record him, not being so Mormon was hatched.

Travis was blogging about how he had decided the time to come to grow up, look for a wife and begin his family. No where in that mindset would he be wanting someone he is just having sex with, that he is trying to get away from for the most part having something in another state.....that he would have no control over ....to record.

I know the rule is , if you are going to declare something ...provide the link, so let me say this is just what I remember Taylor saying, but I could be wrong. Let me try to find the link.

You're right! It was Taylor Searle who he told all of that to. I distinctly remember him because I wrote his name down hoping we would hear from him. Sadly, we have not.. hear say I suppose :(

Thanks for your posts!

Skew: neither parallel nor at right angles to a specified or implied line; askew; crooked:

Yes. Those straight lines in the bar code are referred to as skewed lines. lllllllllllllllll This is a skewed line. SKU refers to the stock number as you said but the straight lines in the bar code are often a skewed recording system so that a scanner can read it. So her spelling skew was not incorrect for what she may have been referring to. Hey, we have to give this one to her. lol

Has anyone figured out what 'cork the pot' means?

:seeya: I tried -- but I did not find anything ...

I have no doubt, that it has a "sexual" connotation to it since it came from Nurmi ...

:furious: That "cork the pot" was totally out of line along with the rest of his questions for Deanna ... Nurmi has NO shame ... just like his "client" ...

Rewatching the trial day 2, Det. Flores asks Jodi about whether or not there was a rope and she was like "no, but he had throw pillows with those type of strings".

So was thinking again about Jodi dragging Travis back to the shower.

I still can't fathom how she physically did this? Part of me thinks there was a 3rd party involved. What do you guys think?

First, Travis was only 60 heavier and 3 inches taller than Jodi.

Second, adrenalin! You've heard of amazing feats when fueled by adrenaline. (Lifting cars when someone is pinned underneath, etc.)

When I was a child I saw my mother (about 125 pounds) put a throw rug under the ends of sofas, buffets, china, cabinets, oak roll top desks, and drag them all over the place when she was rearranging furniture. She even moved the refrigerator that way to clean under it.:twocents:

If "cork the pot" was in a TA email to Jodi, it may have been his inexperienced sex-talky version of taking a virgin's "cherry" - as in "popping the cork" on an unopened bottle of champagne. The old-fashioned ALV may have misremembered popping the cork as corking the pot. Just guessing tho.

I just had the chance to get caught up with the trial, I had to leave for an appt yesterday so I just finished watching the days testimony. I was thrilled with Juan and felt he really hit several home runs for the state but at the very end of the day Jodi and her atty were very happy - too happy..wth?? PLEASE tell me that the bogus manslaughter charge has not been allowed! I hope not but I cannot see why they would be so happy. I literally feel sick with the thought she would get manslaughter..anyone have an idea?
As far as we know, there hasn't been a decision on including the manslaughter/heat of passion among the charges for the jury to consider. Hopefully it gets shot down.

BBM~ Day off today. :rocker: I will on here most of the day. I am not planning my day around the court schedule because they're never on time.

I think this morning's hearing has to do with sub-rebuttal witnesses the DT wants to bring in?

Good morning Sleuth! I am excited that the hearing this morning might be televised. Unfortunately I'm at work, but with the help of you fine WSers, I will be able to get updates until I can watch it later tonight on Youtube.

What do you think the hearing will be about?

Ok Bette---my point is that I don't think that peeps here on WS understand that an *average* overall IQ of 119 is bright. And clearly scoring a 136 in any segment of the test is quite bright. Many people do not know what their formalized IQ is via appropriate and approved platforms.

What is your opinion of 119 as an average score on a proctored, standardized IQ test?

I consider Jodi to be above average with exceptional verbal skills as indicated on the WAIS that was administered by Dr. DeMarte. If her school/s offered special programming for gifted/talented students, Jodi might have qualified based on her outstanding verbal ability and possibly her creativity as indicated in her art work.

I taught high school English and easily recognized that Jodi has a large vocabulary and likes to express herself verbally and in her prolific writings. She wouldn't have liked me as her teacher because I find her rambling writings to be hyperbolic and just plain verbose. If she had an English teacher who attempted to guide her talent - I would have definitely suggested a much more economical use of words - Jodi probably thought that she knew better and didn't need anyone's assistance. :moo:
