"Pistorius may be called to testify as early as the middle of next week, after State Prosecutor Gerrie Nel dramatically requested the court be adjourned until Monday while he "reconsiders his case" and said the state is likely to conclude its case by the middle of next week.

Mr Nel said he would be calling another “four or five witnesses”, which means that around 80 of the 107 witnesses on his list will not be called to give evidence at all".

I wonder which five he will call? Surely Netcare must be one of them to confirm the contents of OP's call to them?

I'm confused. Is the blood above the headboard not going to be addressed at all? How could it have got there if OP makes no mention of going back into the bedroom after he carried Reeva downstairs? I'd have thought the blood above the headboard was something important to focus on.

Maybe it was found not to be Reeva's blood. You would think that this would have been pointed out. Then there is the hole on the bedroom door, that has never been explained either. I am just assuming that these were not involved with the case, but that should have been pointed out. Why bother even mentioning these things if they have nothing to do with the case?

maybe 2 ipads in synch means it was definitely op using them.

I'm not certain but think it just means both ipads had bookmarks and certain viewed websites in common.

The uncle of Oscar Pistorius yesterday told Reeva Steenkamp's grieving mum "we are trying to save a life."

Arnold Pistorius tried to build bridges with June Steenkamp, 67, when she attended his nephew's murder trial for the third time.

Sitting next to the grieving mum briefly in the morning before proceedings began, he told her: "I am so sorry for your loss.

"We as a family are just as heartroken for the life that has been lost.

"Like your family we are trying to fight for a life and also for a life that has been lost
."

I think it's really REALLY insensitive for Arnold to try and persuade Reeva's mother that OP's family are 'just as heartbroken' for the life that has been lost!!! Reeva was NOT part of their family. They only knew her for a few months for God's sake. How can Arnold possibly suggest that the loss of Reeva means as much to them as it does to Reeva's own flesh and blood? Tactless beyond belief. As for OP, even if he DOES go to prison for 25 years, his life is not lost. He'll still be alive. His family will be able to visit him. He'll be released at some point to live the rest of his life. His life is not at stake, just his freedom. To try and make out their suffering for Reeva is the same as Reeva's own family's suffering is crass.

Also surprised there was no mention of the door damage/bullet hole etc, but remember there were unconfirmed reports when this first happened that the police have been called to incidents at pistorius house before(not necessarily involving Reeva), maybe there is a blackout about commenting on it since it could unfairly influence this case?, maybe showing photo's of it are fine(and very clever from the state) since it is part of the house but mentioning how it happened not allowed?. is this possible?.

BBM - I have no idea, but yes, it should have been pointed out it was nothing to do with the case, so at least we'd know it was completely ruled out.

Maybe the hole/damage in the door has been largely left alone by prosecution because they have no way of proving when it happened, or where it might fit in to their version of events, and left alone by defence because OP either hasn't revealed how they got there or Roux believes it's better not to 'go there'.

State allowing Roux's hint it was made by police to hang in the air, may be better than state opening up a can of worms trying to prove there was no contamination/collusion/corruption at the scene. That's difficult with the missing watch, the handling of the gun and all the people accessing the scene, I think. Not to mention Botha....

Now that's interesting. I never thought of that.

Apparently it's more important to call Johan Stander before Netcare.:innocent:

Wouldn't Reeva have heard Oscar approaching on his stumps? I can't imagine he could be stealth quiet.

and the highly activated Clarice, she of the fetching of towels, and plastic bags, and ringing, and general tidying up and so forth and so on. the comforting of Oscar, the organizing of no press releases.. who gave an interview to the SA times and said REEVA DIED IN MY ARMS>.

So from what we know, Reeva arrived at the complex around 6pm with Oscar following shortly after.
Around 6.30pm 🤬🤬🤬🤬 is viewed on an ipad, that's definitely not normal, literally all i can think is Oscar viewed this 🤬🤬🤬🤬 on his own unknown to Reeva, you know how allegedly ejaculating a few hours before you plan on having sex makes you last longer, maybe that's what he was thinking.
Lol that's all i got.

Maybe Reeva got into the bath shortly after arriving, and that gave OP time on his own to do some browsing? It could explain why Reeva had (probably) changed from jeans into shorts, but doesn't explain her still being in the same vest/tank top (if it was the same one she arrived in).

Reeva ate very late. If she had eaten an earlier, heavy dinner I'd have thought that would have been present in her system too. It makes me think that for most of the night they were lovemaking, snacking and then rowing.

Oscar himself says he approached tha bathroom door yelling, I think....

Clarice and Johan.. the dynamic duo. yes. them on the stand.. I'm up for that.

Qtips. those wretched pistorious's . the sister Aimee, haunting and stalking June in front of cameras, demanding to be heard, the gruesome Uncle, ditto. this is the last business to attend to of her daughters life. after this, its just a life time of mourning.. God alone knows what it costs her to drag herself to the Pretoria High Court .. What does he mean , save a life?? what.. this life?? a murderers life?? why?? so he can kill again?? gimme a break, Arnold. get back and sit on your bench and leave that poor bloody woman alone.

I'm confused. I always thought it was OP who claimed Reeva died in his arms. Although, the pathologist said she'd have only taken a few breaths after the head shot, so it's highly doubtful that she died anywhere other than the toilet floor, exactly where he shot her.

well.. he couldn't be on tippy toes, Zwi!!

in the early days, sooz. Clarice was every where... did Oscar come dowm the stairs slowly, like Rhett Butler carrying Scarlett?? oh yes , Clarice saw all this. she was there. . was she helping resuscitate Reeva?? oh yes. clarice saw it all, hands on, who covered Clarice oh clarice did. she had to fetch towels.. she was front and centre for any interviews....

then Clarice goes mighty quiet

Clarice didn't notice Dr Stipp, or Baba, or anything inconvenient like that...

yea I'd like to see Clarice on the stand right up there with Johan Standar. just for the hell of it.

June Steenkamp is giving Oscar's family more of a chance to defend and protect their loved one than Oscar ever gave her daughter. By doing that, she is showing the greatest grace and dignity.

She is providing a stark contrast to the retching and attention-seeking attempts by the accused and his defenders, to portray him as an equal victim to Reeva. I think. I do acknowledge though, that OP's loved ones are in a terrible position. For sure, they would be criticized to heck if they had failed to try and offer words of condolence to Reeva's family.

I just hope the Steenkamps are not forced into a financial settlement that forbids them from discussing their daughter's death, or the trial verdict. I think they will be though. I don't know what sort of confidentiality clauses are in operation in SA civil suits...

I think they're from an organisation for South African women agains violence (or words to that effect).
Thank you both for the question and answer. I was wondering that myself.
