I have read, Leah already had been seen in court before postponement.

I would like to see a link for that. I have not seen anything like that.

I think defence have managed to create a single line of a sense of insecurity and/or fear, stemming right from OP's childhood;

Insecurity and struggle about trying to fit into a world of able-bodied people

Insecurity caused by parents' divorce (with the hint of mom's fear and possible paranoia about intruders 'passed on' to her child?)

Fear and trauma caused by mom's death, and his adult accidents, as well as his fear of failure at sport. The stressing of his vulnerability on his stumps; 'I can't balance/can't put weight on my left leg' sets out why he may have additional reasons to fear intruders or attackers I suppose.

Here we go again.....

So hoping he goes for the rile up! In fact I am sure he will after this drawn out soap start. This trial is supposed to be about the murder of an innocent woman, not an advert for the Bladerunner! But then again Nels draw out could have the bullet leave the chamber...so to speak.

At least they've not got a stand selling autobiographies outside the court door I guess.

...I hope not anyhow.

Actually there are photos of the boat showing alcoholic beverage containers in it; and the paramedics never said that OP had not been drinking. And there are tons of incidents where OP has gotten drunk and caused trouble for those around him, many of whom OP didn't even know, strangers in restaurants and parties.

I thought I read a post on his testimony that his cousin or other family member at the scene of the accident, was a paramedic & took control. Maybe that's why no bloods were taken for alcohol testing

R wants to know effect of racing on social life.

Judge tells OP to speak up, sharply.

Yes, OP said she was 'telling then what to do?'

Just catching up with the morning's events. Many thanks to all the posters who are bringing Nel 'live' to my laptop :loveyou:

Wasn't much of an apology to the Steenkamps's for taking their daughter's life, was it? Not. At. All.

It certainly was not. What a statement " I was simply trying to protect Reeva" Nothing simple about it mate, RS's young life has been snuffed out by you and because if your actions her poor family will forever have visions of their beautiful daughter lying on a slab of ice, hooded to try cover the holes in her head.

Yes, I saw the photos so yes sure, they must have definitely ALL belonged to OP and he was drunk out of his mind :p .besides, there is a very good chance his blood was drawn at the hospital because of the booze in the boat. I would love to see this ton of stories of a drunken OP, only one I have heard of is the woman who came crawling out the woodwork and said she was at a concert and OP was next to them etc. Im not disputing he is an a-hole but I highly doubt he is a big drinker!

Sorry, not making a big deal about it but since a man is on trial for his life, and we are quite an unforgiving bunch... we should have the proper facts and not hearsay or what we heard from uncle toms neighbors brothers boyfriend last year (or evidently The Sun newspaper). :)

R: How do you always eave your legs covered?

O: I always leave the pants on, or throw clean clothes on top of them (for the morning). On the track....either my tracksuit legs or top on them, or put the legs in my bag....

R: Why don't you put clothes beside them?

O: I see them as part of my body...I get shy about them, embarrassed about them.

R: Do you drink?

O: I do.

R: Can you expand?

" I had drank on that day...one drink..."

  • #452
O: Xmas I drink. Jan no alcohol...after that, if I'm with friends or on a plane

R: Boating accident?

O: I had been drinking on that day. I only remember having one drink. I wasn't intoxicated on that day.

Don't believe the drug denial, he hesitated too long

  • #454
OP admitting to excessive drinking while on break from training - but Roux interrupted him before he could finish his sentence.

  • #455
Saying "I wasn't intoxicated at that time" just smacks of being coached. Sounds much better than "I wasn't drunk".

Re drugs:

O: I smoked once after my mother passed away. Says otherwise, he doesn't do drugs or enhancement substances that are prohibited in his sport.

He pretty much just admitted that he is sometimes a partier and a drinker.

Before lunch break OP said he did not drink on the boating accident day.

After lunch break Roux brought the topic up again and OP said he did drink.

  • #459
Roux asked questions about PED. Testis Composium was found in his bedroom. Roux would not ask about that if it wasn't going to come up from Mr. Nel.
