My dog thinks I'm rubbish. I won't let him bark at anything this morning, and I don't want to play football or tug the rope. If he gets half a chance, he'll chew my keyboard, I know he will. :)

Sorry doggie but Zwiebel has a very important job to do and is doing it wonderfully!! Back away from the keyboard! Good doggie!

OMG, all this crime where he lives .. and he never thought to put a lock on his bathroom window, and *use* it!! I don't believe half of this guff ..

Funny about that, how many reports of crime in his neighborhood did the officer testify to?

The drinking can be taken any way you choose.

If you say you don't have a single drink, people won't believe you.

If you say one drink, people will say 'yeah right'.

If you have quite a few when you get the chance, you're a raging party animal.

Take your pick.

AFAIK alcohol limits for boating are the same with driving limits in SA (whatever they happen to be)
LOL, Thanks..you said it better than me.
Back then, the limit for a man would be max 2 beers, in recent times the law has become much more strict and its 1 beer at most, but most don't bother and adapt a zero approach to drinking and driving. His boat was full of alcohol fruit coolers(vile stuff) and don't know what percentage alcohol they are.

And considering the money he's got, no panic room, steel bars, cctv. Doesn't sound to me like somebody whose paranoid about intruders.

O: Dec 2012 I'd been to Jo burg to look at property - I was bowled over by Reeva so thought of moving there. I put in an offer. But reaalized before I could move needed to fix up my house to sell. Got a contractor in - list of things; broken window, carpentry

Says window broke through him throwing cricket ball to dog. Window fixed 13th/14th Feb.

Who the heck throws cricket balls to dogs near windows? They are hard!

  • #487
OP says his contractor was a friend on the estate and his home was also broken into by people using a ladder.

I'm so glad he mentioned that piece of replacement glass was wrapped in brown paper .. important fact, that .. < yawn >

  • #489
If he was so paranoid, wouldnt he have fixed the window IMMEDIATELY?

O: I got my first dog when I got my first house 2005. Jack Russell. Two years later I got a bullterrier. Three years later I rescued an Americcan pitbull. But they are very loving, placid, calm animals. They play with kids. Not at all aggressive...video of police I saw in my garden. Dogs were licking them.

He is really hyping it up, isn't he .. overly so, imo.

O: The Jack Russell was a better watchdog. He's a light sleeper. The others are deeper sleepers, not alert. But my J Russel died 2011.

O: House in Joburg had much better security; higher fences, electronic alarms...

O: I chose that estate (silverwds) because it was further out of the city. My house, 27, was one of the first developed. Contraactor working on my estate was a victim of crime. They used a ladder to break into his home.......another contracter working there got through estate security and broke into a woman's house, tied her up.

I thought, when this question came up about crime on that estate, that it had been said there had been no reported crimes .. except for OP's crime of shooting Reeva?

Poor OP - his 'guard' dogs were placid and friendly.

He had no choice but to shoot the phantom intruder in his toilet - after all, his dogs weren't aggressive.

Also, a cricket ball that hits a window would completely wreck it, IMO. They are so hard. The hole was not particularly large. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a pellet from his air rifle.

Confused. I thought he said he got the new dogs because they were better watch dogs, then he contradicted himself and said they were deep sleepers.

  • #498
He got the other dogs as guard dogs but they were 'very placid'. He rescued the last from a breeder because he though she was not being taken care of properly....she'd pull me on my skateboard. She had the temperament of a labrador.

Stumbling over the words 'blood on her head' .. and that was just in regard to his dog ..!

Excuse my ignorance but what the heck is that contraption Uncle Arnie clasps to his chest constantly?
