The boat accident is another example of his reckless need for speed. It did not slow him down apparently, since Reeva had called her mother from the car to say he was speeding while she was in the vehicle... smh

Maybe a rock? Not sure. He gave the impression he was just cruising along, blinded by the setting sun and it was only John standing up who spotted whatever it was a yelled a warning. It doesn't really explain why John could see an obvious obstacle they were about to hit and OP could not......when he was going so slow and all, and hadn't been drinking....

I disagree that the position of a body would normally be determined by a medical examiner. Apart from it being something of a joint effort anyway, it is not the case here in the UK nor in the US as per the following quote by the American Bar Association paper called "Ballistics":

It might not be the case in the UK, of course ballistics experts handle ballistics. But yes, the ME's typically handle the actual wounds and order of wounds and position of body. I suggest you watch the Michael Dunn trial where the ME brought in a dummy with dowel rods in it to demonstrate the position of Jordan Davis when he was killed and the order the bullets hit him in. That is typical ME testimony to me.

So far, none of it explains in any way why he did not take 2 seconds to confirm her whereabouts before he shot blindly through a door.

The way he explained the boating accident made him sound calm, cool and collected. He said his face was torn up, but he had the presence of mind to call his uncle with the cell.

And since when has he been withdrawn and fearful? He was quite the social butterfly, always out and about, attending public events, staying out late.

I agree that Roux could have provided a short history of OP's life but this was a life story, even down to skin peeling from his stumps.

I agree. The crux of the defense is OP's psychology - his paranoia, the reasonableness of his actions, what influences his actions. You can't build evidence about that by just talking about the night of the shooting. Evidence from his pre-shooting life is critical. No saying it will be convincing, though.
