Oscar is rehearsed and careful about his recollection of the night. It was Steenkamp's fault that the sliding doors and binds were open. He remembers many minute details and positions yet somehow forgets others:

OP: I don’t remember what it was (the television he was watching).

He had bought Reeva a bracelet from a designer that she liked earlier in the year and seems to say they were going to go there to pick out a piece of jewelry.
OP:I hadn’t made any plans for the 14th. I had a dentist appointment, so we made no plans for that day.
We had both decided to not make a big deal about it (the day).
Pistorius says they were going to do something quiet like dinner on the 14th. It’s unclear as he talking a bit out of sequence. Sound odd that they both did not care about Valentine’s Day. Steenkamp seemed to be someone quite invested in traditions and celebration.
OP:I got home on the early evening of the 13th and there was a wrapt present, with a card that said Ozzie. When I walked to the kitchen, made as if I was going to open it, it had red, white and pink wrapping paper. Reeva said not to open it.

OP: On her birthday I opened it (he cries) it had four photos of her and I.

O: I woke up in the earlhrs 14 feb. Extremely warm. I sat up in bed. I nticed the fans were still running and doors open though lights switched off. Reeva was awake. Saif "can't you sleep baba?'

I got to the fans, took the small one, placed it pretty much in the room. Then the big one, placed it in the bedroom. They were still running. Then I closed and locked the doors and closed the curtains. I can't remember about the blinds.

Roux prompting 'and the blinds?' .. that's not on .. and then OP says he doesn't remember ..

.. OP really pausing for ages now .. trying to be really careful about what he says ..

O: Only light a little led light where tv ws. I could see Reeva's jeans on the floor. I picked them up and was going to place them over the light........

You are so right !! But Nel will bring him down to earth and help him remember the real event as it happened .

O: I heard a window open in the bathroom. I heard the window hit the frame...alll are wooden frames in my house.

R asks if OP can remain in his present clothing, for the demonstrations.

R: What time did you fall asleep?

O: Just after 9pm. Between 9 and 10pm.

What ! I thought Reeva was doing yoga after they went to bed at 10pm
Big change here. I feel dizzy
Did I miss something about the did he admit to searching for it or are we to believe Reeva was watching whilst cooking ?

That's interesting. They went to bed at 10pm (according to his affidavit) and he fell asleep about an hour earlier than he went to bed... ... or he fell asleep immediately at 10pm. Hmmm.

So where those jeans actually found covering the stereo after the event? No, they weren't! What a load of old hog wash.

O: That's the moment that everything changed. The moment I thought a burgrlar gained entry to my home...I thought I just froze for a moment...no barrier between me and the bathroom. ..they could be there anymoment. The first thing I thought, I needed to arm myself. Protect Reeva...I needed to get my gun.

Shaking head. Would you not whisper to Reeva at this point? Are you there (to check if she is in bathroom). Are you ok? Stay here and let me check this noise out. Ugh. I want to believe him because I really believe love existed between them, but this night and these moments do not compute).

Reeva's mum is not buying this story, see the look she gave her husband

O: I couldn't see...ran with my hand in front of me. Grabbed my gung from under the bed, took it out the holster...I wanted to put myself between the person and Reeva.....slowed down, I thought they might be in the closet.

Just before I left the bed I WHISPERED for Reeva to call police.

So now he "whispered" for Reeva to phone the police.

If I can explain, there will be many things said in addition to the statements that fill in the missing parts of the evening.

Both statements are mere outlines and do not include everything that happened that evening/morning.

This is what the defendant does now, he goes into more details with DT and under cross-exam.

This works exactly the same way for the prosecution. Their claim only comprises of a few paragraphs, and they also fill in the complete details regarding their theory during trial.
