Morning jay-jay,

Yep, in the UK we're covered by NHS.

SA is a part funded/part private healthcare system, so it could be that ID is required. I'm not certain, but there are a few SA posters on here who would know for sure.

No part funded nothing, you either have medical aid that grants you access to top notch hospitals (Very expensive) or you use government hospitals- severely underfunded and you try avoid at all costs! :)

OP's first lie.....never heard of a zombie stopper...boom

  • #203
Finding Nel's manner a bit snippy. If I was the judge I wouldn't like to be spoken to like that. JMO.

Anyone know what a 'zombie stopper' is? Google hasn't given me much to go on!

There's a powerful sight for a gun manufactured by 'Zombie Stopper'. It's their brand name. Though I'm not sure if this is what Nel is referring to.

N: I'm not entering the video into evidence. I'm just showing it to the witness because the witness wants to see it.

Judge has adjourned.

I do think Nel was a bit tricky with this. And defence must think the judge hasn't seen it, and really not want her to.

Is it really damaging?

Thanks for that Carol. :thumb:

I think Zombie stopper is a shooting comp?

Nel really fighting to show it because he asked OP and OP said he would like to see the video, Lol.

I think I can see where Nel is going here...

I believe he is going to show the ongoing pattern of OP's reckless, impulsive and irresponsible nature when it comes to firearms.

He is trying to make the judge doubt OPs versions of shooting out of the sunroof & the restaurant incident. OP painted himself as being the responsible one who seems to always be a victim of circumstance.

I want to see this video.

I will say that in the U.S., this video would probably never get in because I agree with Roux's legal argument. (I'm a paralegal though, so don't throw things. Just how I think re. law)

O: From garage I was taken to foyer of my home, officer came up and told me he was a family member of mine and I didn't have anything to worry about..at that point Col Vsaid because I was the only person in the house, they were going to arrest me.

I didn't catch the name of officer he said was family, but he said it.

I thought he said the officer said he was a friend of a family member...

Back to that friends in high places again. :/

I think Roux is right in this....the video should have been introduction during Nel's case.

Judge doesn't seem clear and going to take a break.

Hate to say it but I'm with Roux on this too but the Sky News SA expert is saying that as the defence have introduced his character as a defence then he's allowed to cross examine that character.

He's kicked just above the doorhandle.

Now asked to show how he handled the cricket bat.

R: But please don't actually hit the door.

Now OP is giving court a serious lecture on the 'natural way' to break down a door with a bat!

WTH? Zombie-stopper? Or is it stomper?

Dare I even ask.....? lol

A zombie stopper is an add-on to a gun where you are supposed to see zombies/eople in complete darkness. Never heard of such a thing.

Save Your Brain with the New EOTech Zombie Stopper! In these troubled times it's good to know you can count on EOTech to bring you the ultimate in Zombie Stopping Holographic Technology. Use the awesome new biohazard reticle to sight them in and kill them dead (over and over again). When threatened by a pack of brain eating beasts, fast target acquisition is a must-- and no one is faster than EOTech.

Single transverse 123 battery to reduce sight length
Special Bio-Haz Reticle. The reticle is capable of auto-ranging Zombies up to 600 yards.
Shortened base only requires at most 2 3/4 inch of rail space
Battery cap and latch are eliminated and replaced with a simple O-ring, tethered cap; better sealing is achieved
Average battery life at brightness level 12 is roughly 600 hours
Zombies are visible in complete darkness and you do not need NV to see them.

They couldn't introduce it themselves because it went to character. They had to wait for the defence to open that door.

Didn't the state present a previous Sky News clip and it was allowed because it was in the public domain?

The defence did .. and I think it's a bit much they are allowed to do that but the prosecution are not allowed to show the zombie stopper vid. They are not presenting the zombi stopper vid as evidence, they are presenting it just to show what is meant by zombi stopper. I can't see what the problem is with showing it .. seems like this one little thing is going to take up so much time now

I've seen the video before, there's some comment made about blowing up the watermelon that it's not as soft as brains but will do, or something to that effect. :/

Yup, he knows damned well what that is/what Nel is referring to.

Well of OP didn't lie inthe first place, Nel could have just gone on with the questions....and put it to OP good fashion

There's some that argue this is the sole reason for the firearm charges - it was the only way the State could show such a pattern because of the rules on character evidence.

My understanding anyway as a not-a-paralegal. ;)

Bit of a trick Nel pulled there.

If someone's shooting and they say that was a zombie-stopper, it means you've made a volley of good shots (i.e. that would stop zombies).

It's something guy's would say when playing Call of Duty and similar.

Well, quite!

Okay, we are into a legal discussion between Roux, Nel and judge now. What way's she going to go?

Imo, doesn't really matter now, Nel has already highlighted the video and there are probably 10k people watching it as I type this lol.
