Roux had the prosecution witnesses badly treated and tricked. In contrast to OP they are not the perpetrators. Nel may take OP quiet a bit harder, I think; that's only compensatory justice. I personally want OP to confess the truth, for Reeva and for her poor parents.

Nel is treating OP with kit gloves compared to the badgering Roux gave every prosecution witnesses....IMO

Yes, how can he say that he tried to use Reeva's phone to call NetCare, and yet once he has his own phone to hand, NetCare is not the first person he calls and he phones Stander instead?

01:48:48 – GPRS – 309 seconds – tower closest to Oscar’s (the remaining are all on the same tower as well)

03:18:45 – GPRS – 75 seconds

03:19:03 – Outgoing call to 2251 (Johan Stander) – 24 seconds

03:20:02 – GPRS – 79 seconds

03:20:05 – Outgoing call to 082911 (ambulance service) – 66 seconds

03:21:22 – GPRS – 61 seconds

03:21:33 – Outgoing call to 6797 (Baba, security) – 9 seconds

03:21:47 – Outgoing call to 121 (voicemail) – 7 seconds

03:22:05 – Incoming call from 6797 (Baba, security)

03:55:02 – Outgoing call to 8888 (Justin Devaris) – 123 seconds

I still can't make out how much of a discussion could have been had with the emergency services that only lasted 66 seconds, either.

Don't know about SA, but in Aus it would only get you to central dispatch who determine which service you want, fire/police/ambulance & then transferred to the one you want. Not enough time to give address & details

I've always thought that 66 seconds was not long enough.

Dispatcher answers phone. OP says he needs an ambulance. Dispatcher asks for address. OP gives it. Dispatcher asks what is wrong. OP tells dispatcher ALL of Reeva's injuries. Dispatcher then would need to say to bring her in instead of waiting for ambulance.

Now, would the dispatcher really tell someone to bring Reeva in in the car instead of waiting for an ambulance IF the extent of Reeva's injuries had truly been explained? I don't think so.

MOO

I don't think he had to explain the exact nature of all of her injuries to make the point that she was very critically wounded from being shot in the head. And I really have no idea how emergency calls are handled in SA - the few times I've called 911 they have been very brief calls, but I've never had to report a critical gunshot wound.

Until I hear a dispatcher testify or a recording of the call that indicates that they did not tell him to take her in his car - then what he's telling us is the only evidence there is and nothing contradicting it.

I hope the Netcare call is played.

How weird, I read this post at this exact moment lol I was watching Sky & pressed pause to read some posts & guess what is paused on my screen? A transcript of OP's words "Of course I think of every single word I say when I'm sitting here".......spooky

I bet that's how Reeva felt with the volatile OP.

Things may be different in America, but when you call 911 or an emergency responder they try to keep you on the phone after getting your address to keep tabs on the condition of the victim, they make sure you are doing CPR if indicated and will provide instructions if needed. I have never heard of a case where someone was instructed to bring a seriously wounded patient/victim to the hospital themselves. (I'm a physician so I have experience with this).

That seems logical and that's what I would expect in the US for sure, but don't really know about SA

I thought OP said today that he called Netcare but doesn't remember talking to them. Is that correct? Or maybe he meant he didn't recall his side of the conversation, only theirs?

When Nel mentioned the hair clipper next to the bed, I wondered if it would be somehow tied to the unexplained "tram track" striation pattern in the injury on Reeva's back. Then I realized Nel was addressing the number of outlets required for the fans, clipper, etc. But out of curiosity, can someone tell me whether the clipper was found within the charging device at the bedside? I couldn't tell from the blurry screenshot I saw on Twitter. TIA.

As always, all of the above is just my opinion.

He remembers calling Netcare, I don't remember if he said he couldn't remember what he said, he might have. He said he doesn't remember calling security, though.

Oh My Gosh I just called that.

WOW a legal expert is tipping that the DT will ask the court for a postponement in the morning due to OP being emotionally unwell. They are predicting the court will have to allow it.

I think it was in the charging dock in the pic but he said that's not where he put it?

(Someone please correct me if I'm wrong about that?)

Yes, he let his mouth run a bit, but really if the guy has nothing to hide it's not so necessary that he only give quick concise answers. He got into some difficulty when he was trying to anticipate Nel's thinking and answering questions or explaining things that were not yet asked.

BIB. I agree but that is putting it mildly, IMO. OP was an absolute mess on the stand! I cannot see Roux and Co anticipating that meltdown. They must have Royally botched his trial preparation.

Anyway I'll bet OP comes to Court tomorrow red eyed from staying up all night memorizing scripted answers.

Sounds like it Luv,He better call out sick...

Sounds like it Luv,He better call out sick tomorrow cause he's in for a bumpy ride.If he's lying about little things then there is a totally different reason he shot through the bathroom door.

Oh My Gosh I just called that.

wow. I have to say that this is odd to me. OP has said that he didn't draft the document, and wasn't there when it was written, even though he signed it. But he wants to distance himself from it's contents now. And you have no problem with this stance by him?

And he just said the word "reworked" in regards to his story. wow.

And two fans going but he heard something in the bathroom? Great hearing. But never heard Reeva get out of bed.

Yes it was within the charger device.

No he didn't. He believed there was an intruder and he gave all the reasons why he thought that.

And this is where difference of opinion is good. For me to believe your opinion, I have to believe that Oscar's belief of an intruder is true & I've tried but I just don't.

How much pressure needs to be applied to the trigger to make it function or does that vary a great deal with different pistols.

It varies, the pressure on the trigger requires effort, you wouldn't normally fire unknowingly (as in your finger brushing the trigger by mistake).

66 seconds seems like a pretty long call to emergency responders - hey, I shot my girlfriend in the head and she's dying, send help quick, my address is blah blah blah ...we'll send an ambulance but you will get help for her more quickly if you drive her to hospital yourself if you're able.

Sadly in SA you'd be lucky if anyone actually answers the call to begin with.

  • #1,159
can anyone tell me where is the video from today starting after the delay so Oscar could pull himself together.

  • #1,160
Haven't been keeping up except for a few headlines.

My understanding is OP is bawling like the baby he is, on the stand, claiming to have "deeply loved" Reeva. @@ <-- rolling my eyes.

Instead of taking it like a man he's sounds like a big coward, all tough and manly and macho when he's got a loaded gun pointed at someone, but now? Not so much...
