Yes. :( 2 photos, 2 different angles.

I think it was one pic, zoomed in. I am watching it on tv and have been able to rewind and rewatch. Poor Reeva.

Yes, sorry. Wasn't trying to suggest this was something OP manipulated. I'm just a bit cross with Nel for that. I think he messed up.

No worries. :loveyou:

I feel he reached the crescendo without doing much 'build up'. I imagine much of the courtroom are feeling pretty blindsided!

Did they actually show the photo on the feed? I wasn't looking.

Indeed, though I don't know if we're ever going to get our live feeds back now.. :/

The BBC live newsfeed I'm watching alongside the coverage says the picture has gone down badly:
"The BBC's Andrew Harding in Pretoria reports that it is the first time the courtroom has been deliberately shown a photograph of Ms Steenkamp's head injury. He says there was no warning to her mother, who is in court today, and adds that there is little sympathy for Mr Nel's provocative behaviour in the courtroom."

I think Nel needs to find his footing with Pistorius - and fast. Some prosecutors have it (Juan and Jodi; Kelly and Susan) and some don't (Becky & Jason, Round 1).

Personally, I believe true responsibility would have begun with pleading guilty to culpable homicide and then, only then, throwing oneself at the mercy of the court, Reeva's family, etc.

GRAPHIC: Looking at her head wound it seems to have entered right at base of neck/head and exited upper right. There is brain matter extruding from exit wound. :( My heart just aches even more for her now, seeing this.

I don't think the judge appreciated it.

I've poured through SA's rules of criminal procedure but can't ascertain whether they actually have reciprocal discovery or not. State's obligation on discovery is very clear - defense, not so much.

For me the most fascinating difference is that it doesn't matter legally if he intended to kill Reeva or an intruder as long as intent is proven itself. Makes a heckuva change from castle, SYG, and other domiciliary defenses with which I'm familiar.

From watching this trial the prosecution doesn't appear to know anything the defense is putting before the court until it happens. So it looks like it's only 1 way.

Another adjournment for OP to compose himself, but again I don't hear anyone say how long?

This delusional cold blooded murderer is going to spend the rest of his in prison with real burglars who with teach him basic toilet etiquette with tender loving care daily, and not just on Valentine's day.

Did I hear him in between his sobs saying he wants to get on with his life? lol This delusional cold blooded murderer is going to spend the rest of his in prison with real burglars who with teach him basic toilet etiquette with tender loving care daily, and not just on Valentine's day.

I didn't hear that at all.

Aislinn Laing @Simmoa Nel is, without a doubt, trying to viciously strip away any concept that Pistorius is a victim in this. He wants him to confront what he did

Huh? I certainly didn't hear that.

As I predicted... in being [modsnip] Nel is proving stuff about himself rather than the case... and he is helping to engender sympathy for OP in the Judges eyes.... I think Nel needs a "tea-break" (cigarette)

OP has apparently now left the Court room with the psychologist (according to BBC)

Am I somehow connected with "Really?" because if I click the THANKS button, then always "Really?" and "FG" plopps?
