My prediction, this non experts evidence will be discredited

it is embarrassing.

it appears so amateur.

think he will be back to his day job - just geology expert - after this.

D explains how he is not a ballistics expert.

Nel asks: Did you ever consult the accused about how he hit the door with the bat?

D: Milady, I consulted him once....beinning of the trial...

N: And he gave you answer?

D: (after some prevarication) He says there was a strong vibration.....

He can't recall if he asked OP what his position was.

@Debora_Patta I hope dixons payment isn't outcome related, left discredited and humiliated !

But didn't OP testify that the black talon ammo was what his firearm used? Does everyone have a difficult time acquiring this
ammo--but OP??

BRB, going to get my tent and joining beach and Britskate in the Twilight Zone. :D
It's not manufactured any more as it was taken off the market 10 or more years ago, maybe even 20. Was popular so people pay more to buy old stock and the price is set by supply and demand... as years go by the rarer they become so the higher the price.

Did I just hear what I thought I heard.

Nels: Isn't wound ballistics an area for pathologists?

Witness: Normally, but it can also be part of the forensic scientist(?) course

Nels: Did you do that course?

Witness: No

Edit: Why is a geologist giving evidence on wound ballistics?

He concurs with Mangena... what tests, rods, lasers, etc. ???

  • #428
Breaking News : None of the bullets missed Reeva. Gawd !

  • #429
I snorted so loud at that my cat fell off the back of the sofa.

The other slight problem with his cricket bat experiment was that there is a fair old difference in the build between Dixon and OP, OP is much more athletic and physically powerful and together with the rage/desperation to open the door would've been hitting that door with one heck of a lot more force that Dixon could ever have done. The experiment is useful-ish, but it's not scientific .. it can't ever be unless it is replicated in the exact same surroundings, with the exact same equipment, by the exact same person in the exact same 'heat of whatever moment'.

  • #431
Dixon saying that he tried to replicate the scene exactly with all things like cricket bat, etc, as near as possible to the real things .. except for the small little matter of them having conducted the experiment right out in the middle of an open field!!! :banghead:

Not to mention they brought a couple of the wives along, as if this was some kind of cocktail party (when Roux asked Dixon who was there).

I've never heard of bringing your wife to a crime scene replication.

MOO

He'll fade into anonymity for sure...or start doing speaking engagements like any respectable discredited expert witness. ;) Ala Alyce LaViolette and Sally Karioth.

Please pardon errors as posted via Tapatalk with a less than stellar user.

Nel is back to ballistics, re Reeva standing and bullet to hip.

N: Which bullet missed?

D: None missed, in my opinion.

N: Which bullet was E?

And witness says probably B?

N: In your recon, C must have missed?

D: What recon....

I forget which one he said now, I'm so astounded by this testimony.

For OP's new defence the they HAVE TO have four rapid shots... I think.

  • #436
N: First three shots we heard were the bat - you holding it at shoulder height?

D provides measurments of , Nel queries if it was actually 60m. Seems to know something.

By the way, are they meaning to say cm when they say m? I'm as lost as the witness now....

60m is over 180 feet isn't it?

Witness talking about 'my interpretation' of how gun would have 'moved up' after firing.

  • #440
This is not real life, it can't be!

RT @barrybateman: #OscarTrial Dixon then starts explaining that he went on to the internet to listen to sounds of gunshots… like those in movies. BB

:floorlaugh:

I'm an expert then, I google sounds and all sorts all the time .. I'm an expert on everything!
