1. OP is deceiving his defense team
2. The defense team is deceiving Jo Expert, purposely keeping him in the dark
3. Defense is setting up grounds for appeal (incompetent representation)
4. All of the above

For anyone who missed it early this morning :

Taken from the court record of yesterday's testimony at the point when the live feed cut out (remember?)
This was our Rog (Jack) Dixon discussing the WC light:

"I performed a scientific test using an instrument known in forensic geology as a 'finger'. I used this finger to press the light switch in a horizontal fashion which then confirmed to me, to the best of my knowledge, that the light was not working milady.
I then used additional instruments called eyes to confirm the above and then allowed my brain and physical existence to bring all the evidence together milady.
I then made some notes on a napkin to accurately record all these findings. Which I then blew my nose on. And then lost.
No I did not check if there had been any previous fault reported to confirm the employer's, sorry i meant the accused's story milady.. quite honestly I couldn't be bothered milady.
I also did not check that the bulb had been accidentally smashed by a cricket bat.
I did not do this because I was satisfied that my initial test was sufficient to reach the conclusion I had been asked to reach.
I also could not do this milady because by then it was night-time and it was dark and the lights weren't working for some reason... and so I tried to use both my eyes and my finger to make my notes on the back of a stamp, but then I didn't have a pen because it was stuck up my arse milady.
No its true that I am not a qualified electrician milady but I once changed the batteries in my portable gas spectrometer, so I am an expert to the very best of my recollection, but I don't actually know how the thing works milady. I think you blow through it or sing it a song. One of the three. Or four. Numbers aren't my strongpoint.
No there is no report milady, because the dog ate it on the way here"

* might have been slightly edited since this mornings shambles!

Good afternoon from a UK expat in Cyprus. Cant see how relevant the Stipps curtain experiment was. It was 9pm when he saw the curtains closed but they look like nets to me; if they dont go to bed at 9 then the relevance of curtains closed or not is irrelevant for that time; just because they are closed now doesnt mean they were closed on the night; there are more houses now so likely to shut them now for privacy, plus probably trying to protect themselves from all the extra media attention and strange bearded men standing outside their house staring up at them surely? How on earth can this be brought in as 'expert' evidence to support DT? The man's an idiot.

anyone get the impression that Roger Dixon is Barry Roux"s revenge for getting blamed so much by Oscar??

LOL

Key Defence Expert Flounders At Pistorius Trial Martin Brunt
Crime Correspondent

I am supposed to be impartial, but it is difficult to report on the performance of defence witness Roger Dixon without pointing out he had a rather uncomfortable time being cross-examined. He was billed as an expert witness, someone with particular knowledge and experience and without any allegiance to one side.

Prosecutor Gerrie Nel spent most of the day trying to show he really was not much of an expert at all in his evidence on sound, light, fibres and blood......
..

Poor Roger Dixon will be waking up to some humiliating headlines... no TV but he does surf the net.

Good reporter, but whenever I see him I always hope he is in therapy because he goes from one terrible crime to the next. I'm sure he can't sleep at night.

At this rate I'm tempted to visit David Ickes forum.

Is feeling strange but the Oscar thinks the same!

To be fair i find the theory that the royal family are lizards more believable than Oscars story.

I wonder if Nel can actually ask the court to reject all of his evidence or if he'll just hope that the judge will disregard it herself?

I think best no one gets any hopes up about the judge disregarding all RD's testimony as the law permits anyone to be called to give an opinion and it is entirely at the judge's discretion, (and she is taking a lot of notes), to decide whether she gives weight to all, part or none of Dixon's evidence. Nel can, and probably will, in his final submission make a plea for the judge to disregard much of it but then it will be up to Masipa so best is he do his job as he is doing, i.e. look how to contradict it and make it look unreliable.

I think Dixon is rather naive. More accustomed to the (relatively) genteel struggles of academic life. I think he completely failed to foresee or understand the scrutiny and powerful cross examination he would be subject to, in the witness box.

I don't believe he thought of keeping his eye open for any possible manipulations either...

I don't think he can have followed many trials.....

N: For purposes of your evidence, you're relying on your memory. Why would you not have a report?
(Judge interjects and says witness may sit down)

N: ....I prefer not to refer to written evidence. I've been over this many times and it's fixed in my mind...

Nel explains how the court needs to follow the process, does the witness understand that?

D: I can take you through the process...

N: Noo.

Then Nel goes on to ask about prosthesis.

And why did the other experts or the DT not inform him that the balcony light was on. It could be that even OP's own DT don't know what the heck OP's story actually is, since he tailors it to suit adding and detracting whichever way he assumes the wind is blowing.

Yes, I think it shows he really has been tailoring. As if we didn't know that already

snipped

I agree. I'm feeling rather ill for speaking badly about him, thinking it's funny about his Trans Am and posting it He's probably a really nice guy and this may ruin him... and who knows if he might hurt himself (yeah I know far reaching). He didn't murder anyone after all.

D: Prosth was given to me at crime scene by Mr V either ?? March or ?? Feb.

I didn't catch exact dates.

Nel pursues, repeats 'Why was this not in the reports?'

D: It's not a chain of evidence report.

And Nel wants to know what 'those notes' are in front of him now? Witness drew them up this morning....
