Its quite customary in Zulu culture for women to be obedient and respectful towards their husbands..also, this witness seems to be quite demanding of respect at all times, making the police come to him numerous times before being satisfied he was approached in the correct manner. Definitely a Mr No Nonsense lol.

That's why I included those of Asian (Indian precedence) because (apart from my sister in law :-) ), Indian wives are also usually very obedient and respectful. But what really struck me was how OP, (I am pretty sure it was him but if not another white male), said in the same "no nonsense" fashion, something about the women in his family not being allowed to drive at night.

NW: He (husband) told me someone had passed on at Mr P's house but he doesn't know exactly what happened.

  • #223
It seems the only logical explanation, much like other witnesses. What's throwing me is them hearing the 'help help help.' Unless OP called for help after the second set, as well.

He screamed for help before breaking the toilet door down, so it backs the state's claim that the gunshots were the 2nd set of sounds.

Aimee is mumbling to herself again .....what's up with that ?

  • #225
His FIANCE? Since when?

No kidding. I thought the SAME thing!!

Maybe this guy was confused about what he heard. He thought OP said, "She's my fiance," when OP actually said, "She does what I say."

Her husband went to OP's house. When he came back he told somebody had passed on in OP's house. Van Aart came to house some time after incident.

#OscarTrial Nhlengethwa: did not like the way the police approached him, saying “hey brother, what happened here?” (in vernacular). BB

Barry Bateman ‏@barrybateman 33m
#OscarTrial Nhlengethwa: told the police if they wanted to talk to him they would have to make a proper meeting. BB

Barry Bateman ‏@barrybateman 31m
#OscarTrial Nhlengethwa: says two policewoman approached him the next day. He was still not satisfied with the police conduct. BB

Barry Bateman ‏@barrybateman 31m
#OscarTrial Nhlengethwa: told the officers that they expected him to drop everything to speak to them. He said they should arrange a meeting

Barry Bateman ‏@barrybateman 31m
#OscarTrial Nhlengethwa: was then approached by Van Aardt. Now satisfied with how this was done he agreed to a meeting. BB

Sorry, but that is not quite what I heard. Are you listening live? He was suspicious of the first two sets of "visitors" being press not police. As he was not sure they were police he would not give a statement. He also said they were very rude.

Interpreter. Aaaargh.

Roux keeps asking N if he switched lights on. I don't know why. He says he did switch some lights on when he left to go to OP's.

Roux is still trying to discredit Mrs. Stipp's testimony... :/

lol hehe

NW: I went into the dining room (to make a statement) my husband got up to leave but Cpt VA wouldn't let him.

Nel up.

I'm just getting the impression he's down playing the events of that evening. All he heard was OP crying and splits hairs on the definition of crying. So I imagine he's only testifying what OP was like when he'd realized what he's done.

He screamed for help before breaking the toilet door down, so it backs the state's claim that the gunshots were the 2nd set of sounds.

Not really. Where's the second set of bangs, regardless?

  • #235
Unless the second set were what woke him and his wife.

If it was the second set that woke them then the second set would have been much earlier than the 3:15 aprox accepted because by the time he rang security he had checked all the house, argued with his wife about going, not going, etc. and then rung security which apparently clocked in at 3:16.

Nel: Do I understand, the first noise you heard was a bang, only one?

NW: Yes.

Nel: The second noise was 'help help help?

NW: Correct.

Nel: And after that. you heard crying?

NW: Correct.

  • #237
Nel: This was terrible evening. Yes.
Nel: Have you been following trial.
N: I'm a housewife, always at home, watching proceedings. Only heard one bang. Then help, help, help. Then heard a man crying.
Nel: You're sure that's what you heard.

  • #238
Mrs. N (a Tswana speaker) and Mr. N both confirmed that they have been following the trial.

Mrs. N says she's a housewife and she likes watching the trial on TV.

She heard a bang. Help, help, help. Then a man crying. No bangs after that.

  • #239
Nel: After the second of the shots you heard...

Judge: What do you mean by that? You mean sounds? You didn't say sounds?

  • #240
Nel: Stipp heard help, help, help after the second shots.
Masipa clarifies what question is.
