This is what Nel is looking at re section 77.
Oh, thank you so very much! I've read it before but couldn't find it now that I actually wanted to! :loveyou:

I might have missed it, can anyone fill me in as to what type of anxiety disorder Oscar is allegedly suffering?

Dr Merryl Vorster agreed with an alleged ex-wife murderer that he had amnesia while he "stabbed her repeatedly."

She says semi-autism, which she clarified as 'psychogenic amnesia' can last for a few minutes, "which explained why Alexander had handed himself over to the police after he realised "he had acted in a violent manner.""

A chill runs over my body at this type of defense diagnosis and psych testimony about the men who kill their partners.

Just general anxiety disorder. Quite common apparently.

On the other forum I read (can I link to it?) someone just said something pretty funny I thought. Can I quote it if it's just one short funny sentence? Paraphrasing will lose it.

Me too. He might get away with murder springs to mind. However, I think Nel is setting something up. She has dropped OP/Roux in the do-do there. We should know by the end of the day.

All the Pistorius family are chewing gum?

Oscar wouldn't like that at all. Remember the comment to Reeva how it looks bad on camera, and now the whole world is watching. Infinitely worse. :floorlaugh:

I thought the article was worth reading for people to understand what she was testifying. I did not imply anything else other than it can be associated with other psychological disorders.

Definitely is worth reading, wasn't having a dig at you IB if that was your perception

This psych witness got her info straight from OP. He told her he felt unsafe in SA, but alleviated his anxiety by having friends often stay overnight at his house. And none of them ever got up in the night and made an audible "noise"?
It would have been better for him if people rarely stayed at his house, because then he could have said he was unfamiliar with 'guest' noises. But the fact he's had people stay over regularly... and not killed any of them for making night noises sort of blows his permanent 'fear' of intruders away.

Did Roux give the impression that he hadn't seen the report either, or just wanted time to consider it some more?
I thought he asked for adj time just before the Dr V came into the court. There were earnest words between him and the blonde woman behind him.
Judge moved them on as witness had already entered the court.

Thanks, I thought it may have been generalized anxiety disorder. You are quite right it is extremely common. But to be diagnosed as a mental condition, it has to be 'excessive, intrusive, persistent and debilitating'...I don't think these apply to Oscar.

Yep. That's exactly what's happening in the Dewani case. He's actually institutionalised in a psych hospital.

so presumably it was done for this case too. and there is a report filed, that has been agreed upon before the trial started.

She herself intimated as much, in my opinion.

Can anyone help with how to include links in a post.....now that we are on a break? I've read the FAQ's and still can't work it out? I see the insert link button......Do I use this? It seems to bring the address twice when I copy/paste?

Many TIA..

Yes, either that or just copy & paste the link

I got that impression too Pat.

Oscar's going to end up sharing a room with Dewani at this rate.

I reckon. It seems it's his mother's fault as she was anxious. I hate this BS too.

And she drank. And dad copped his share of the blame too.
