Here are some other little pieces of the puzzle as "summarized" by a tweeter in the courtroom.

From Alex Crawford ‏@AlexCrawfordSky 22m

#OscarPistorius The pathologist talked about splinters from the door entering RS's arm

#OscarPistorius There was tissue and bone fragments on the black t-shirt

#OscarPistorius There was a small 5mm hole in the shorts

#OscarPistorius Saayman said RS had been wearing grey Nike shorts and a sleeveless black vest

TEARS AS STEENKAMP INJURIES REVEALED

Murder-accused Oscar Pistorius cried in the dock on Monday as pathologist Gert Saayman described the head wounds of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp.

Pistorius sat in the dock with his head bowed and his hands laced behind his neck.

He was shaking as Saayman described how a bullet entered Steenkamp's head in the right upper part, and ran under the skull before it exited from a second wound in the head.

Steenkamp family friend Desiree Myers also sat with her head down as Saayman spoke. Two women next to her held her hand and comforted her.

Pistorius sat gagging as Saayman said a bulk of the projectile went into the brain. Proceedings were briefly halted to allow him to regain his composure.

Saayman said Steenkamp's body was naked when it was brought in for a post mortem. Her clothes were brought along with the body.

Steenkamp's sport shorts had blood stains on them, and a small hole around 5mm in diameter.

What initially seemed like a defect on the trousers turned out to be a blood spatter, said Saayman.

A sleeveless black vest accompanied the pants.

Saayman said small tissue and bone fragments could be seen on the t-shirt.

Pistorius's sister, Aimee, also silently cried as she watched her brother break down.

Pistorius is on trial for the murder of Steenkamp.

He shot her dead through a locked bathroom door of his Pretoria home. He said he had mistaken her for an intruder.

The State, however, argues that it was premeditated murder.

The "vest" thing is weird. Is it actually a vest with nothing else underneath it or just a sleeveless t-shirt (tank)?

  • #265
I think of a vest as a tank top or under shirt

That's what I'm trying to figure out. Was she wearing a black tank or an actual vest? Or a vest over the t?

Vest is the word used in parts of the world to describe what we call a tank top.

I figure it must be a cultural difference then. So she was wearing a black tank top.

I see he managed to take attention away from the injuries Reeva suffered at his hands and back onto him. Now the news is all about him as usual and how he is suffering, it's a total farce. Over the top indeed, someone should check his large handkerchief, it would not surprise me if there were some vomit inducing, eye watering substance on it lol.

Good lord, Oscar, isn't your stomach empty yet? Don't eat lunch next time.

Gerrie Nel has intervened to ask judge to clarify situation regarding reporting restrictions.

Are the media allowed to summarise Prof Saayman after his evidence?

The judge says the press are not banned from from court.

"They can do their work as long as it is not live
," she says.

I think that means all the details can be published after the evidence has been given? Does anyone else get that impression?

They can summarize the testimony without quoting him and without broadcasting the testimony live.

BBM - Yes. God forbid that the attention is taken away from him for a single minute! He's the victim here, poor thing, and let's not forget it - not that he'd give us a chance with all the crying, puking, retching blah blah blah.

Thanks! In the CCTV footage of Reeva arriving on Feb 13 she is wearing a black tank so it appears she never changed clothes

Thank you. So we'll know the details of the 'gravely personal injuries' so long as nothing is quoted and it's just paraphrased. Okay. At least we won't need to speculate.

What about the Nike shorts? Are they Oscar's or hers?

It would seem that those were the same clothes she'd done her yoga in (if she really did yoga that night). If she did, I'd imagine she'd have changed before bed, just to freshen up a little after the exercise. I personally wouldn't go to bed after wearing the same clothes I'd had on most of the day, especially after doing yoga. So it's possible that no one went to bed that night. OP looking at 🤬🤬🤬🤬 and car sites, and Reeva doing, well, we don't know, apart from the alleged yoga.
