There are pieces of the door 'that must have got left at the scene' Col says :(

  • #602
Col: 'I had to deal with the door without those pieces...it would have been interesting and could have shed more light, but that's what I had to deal with.'

  • #603
Roux wants to know who told him missing pieces of door 'not available'

Col can't remember 'exactly who' He says the missing bits were 'an issue'.

Did OP see the face of the intruder in this metal plate on his bat tub that made him smash it with his bat ?:floorlaugh: I thought he only used the bat to bash open his toilet door to rescue Reeva

Wonder what sort of noise that made...

R: 'What is not in the report is that the accused was on his stumps"

Col: 'I was not requested to determin if Mr P was wearing his prothesis or not"

  • #606
Col: says he did not know it was an issue if OP was on his stumps or not.

Roux says well, now you know so why didn't you make a second report?

Col says because his case was closed by then so no need. He did discuss it with Mr Nel.

  • #607
Oh dear, IF OP is guilty, I hope he doesn't get acquitted due to bungling of crime scene and evidence. :(

  • #608
Col says at time of orig report, he did mention 'marks were low' and he was confident OP was on his stumps, but it was 'not an issue for me at that time'

  • #609
Roux: 'Why not a report? Why not a second report? What I'm trying to understand...'

  • #610
Roux wants a second report. For heaven's sake, someone give him one, pleeeaase....

  • #611
Judge just told Roux off "That was a very long sentence'.

A whistle was just heard in court?

Like a person make with their mouth

Text message noise, my wife has the same one on her phone.

Back to Darren for a moment: isn't the main question whether Oscar fired a gun out the sunroof of a vehicle?

There are two witnesses who say he did. Why did it matter who was driving the car and speeding? That's a detail that is not as important as the main question, in my opinion.

Oscar either fired a pistol from inside the car or he didn't. How did Roux impeach Darren on this point?

Col says it was not necessary to go back to home and affix door at time of his original report. Just examined it in ballistics lab.

Roux notices in photos the door was 'leaning slightly' in pics in the lab, but Col says he took account of that.

  • #616
I don't understand why the Col. didn't include an addendum to his original report, if he learned of additional information.

It's called dotting all the I's and crossing all the T's.

This is a murder trial, for crying out loud - his report is crucial evidence!

R: 'Would it have made a difference if the door was at an angle (when firearm was fired?'

Witness says with bat it doesn't make a difference, except if door was perfectly straight, angle of hitting would have to be even lower.

  • #618
For what it's worth i just swung a baseball bat(similar) while on my knees with my feet off the ground and could do it fairly comfortably, i'm going to politely suggest that perhaps the colonel's "frame" prevented him from doing it, lol.

  • #619
Col: 'If a tall person had to hit there, it would have been an unnatural position'.

Explained in terms of doing dishes on your knees and Roux made a joke about being scared of your wife??

I'm used to forensic evidence & testimony pertaining to forensic evidence being explained in more scientific terms.

This seems a bit haphazard & rambling, IMO.
