Col up and demonstrating. Roux asks if 'you are suggesting he hit the door with a flat bat?'

Col says 'Edge of a flat bat'

???????

Now Roux telling him not to bend knees when putting bat in door.

Col says 'I am in unnatural position Milady'.

Roux "I don't see it as an unnatural position'

Col: 'It's important not to scew(sp) the investigation....need to look at whole.'

Col: 'You must be careful not to look at things in isolation and scew the investigation'

Scew? Sque? Just cannot think how to spell it....

If the prosecution are sticking to their claim that Pistorius was on his legs when he fired at the door - something that's far from certain right now - does this mean they will say that Pistorius tried to get to Steenkamp by breaking down the door with the cricket bat before shooting at it? If so, how did he eventually get the door open? And what on earth caused the damage to the metal plate on the bath?

I'm so lost. They have managed to confuse me totally with all of the rambling and muttering and boring demonstrations with bat and door.

Roux has Col on knees with bat in front of door again.

Col demonstrates the 'side of the toe of the bat fits very well'

Roux asks him to do that standing and bat does not fit well, Roux says 'We'll come back to that'.

The Col is getting a work-out today with all the back & forth between the door & the witness box lol!

Col: 'If you take a nail, put it in wood, pull it out, then try and put it back in without a hammer, it won't go.....there is expansion....that's what happened with the bat. That's why bat doesnt go in now like a key in a lock'

Col: not wanting to do what Roux wants him to in case 'It creates new marks on the door Milady'.

That metal plate looks as if was deliberately struck, right in the center. And that may have been the first thing he hit - to scare her.

Col and Roux locking heads on natural v unnatural position.

Col: 'This is a very uncomfortable and unnatural position' (that Roux has made him get in)

Laughter in court.

Poor man!

Roux has finally got Col to match the bat with marks in a standing position, but Col maintains that's an unnatural position.

Col: 'It matched if I bent myself into an unnatural position"

Roux wants to know how many unnatural positions he can get into???

Take a look: does this not look like a normal lock that can be locked/unlocked without a key from the inside? To me it DEFINITELY does.

So it begs the question, why all the mention of the key on the floor in the affidavit unless he was trying (unsuccessfully) to explain why someone might have found a toilet key on the floor - the only reason it would be there is because "someone" took it INSIDE - presumably to make sure no one else could get in after them.

...is my guess and just my guess. What do you all think?

Catchimg up, very late. But yes, it does actually. If that thing under the knob is the lock, it appears to be just a hole and not a normal lock. I do not see a knob where the door can be locked/unlocked manually.

The Colonel totally refusing to wilt to Roux here, so that means Roux will carry on questioning him for the rest of the year if necessary.
