#OscarTrial Defence also plans on calling neighbor closest to Pistorius who will confirm Oscar's version that he was screaming like a girl

From @DeboraPatta Twitter

This is the one I'm waiting for. The state did not call the neighbor closest to OP, which is interesting as he would have heard the most and it would have been the clearest to him. We know he called security so he heard something. Whatever he says could be a huge blow to the state's case, for instance, if he says he recognized the screaming to be OP, or that he was up around 2:00 and did not hear any arguing. That's just speculation though, who knows what he'll say?

Just received this reply from Debora too :-D

I asked her if PT can x-examine about the bedroom door, jeans outside etc, even if the DT don't raise it.

"@Jilltweety they can examine on pretty much anything if it's relevant" (from @DeboraPatta

They can. I doubt they will.

there is a history of Oscar wanting sounds to sound like alternative sounds , other than the sound that was..

in the restaurant shooting, he wanted people to believe it was a gas canister that had gone off in the kitchen..

I enjoy the Screaming Oscar theory as much as anyone could.. it needed Roux to think it up , though..... however.. even Oscar doesn't claim to have screamed for minutes on end , in a womans voice.. his only claim, and it repeats itself in each statement, is that he , and only once , screamed.. he describes all his other verbalizations as , yelling (2) and calling (1).. and 1 bout of screaming, wherein he screams help help help..

So even Oscar forgot about his long and womanly screaming episode before Roux got up and , to general disbelief, claimed it was Oscar who made each and every sound anyone heard on Silverwoods estate that night.

It would be interesting to know if he downloaded (carp :floorlaugh:) music regularly .. because if he did, he would more than likely know his apple/itunes/(i-everything!) password.

Well, if I'm reading that article correctly, then the claim that OP wouldn't give over his iTunes password might not be entirely true. The DT denies it and when the reporters tried the password themselves it worked just fine. I'm thinking Roux will question OP on this to clear it up.

I don't know about you folks, but I am so glad that Pistorius will be on the stand SOON. I hope on Monday. I have a feeling that this pathologist is not going to be asked to go through the entire autopsy, perhaps just the food digestion thing and maybe some other quibble. I cannot see a university professor challenging the autopsy finding in any significant way, it would look foolish to his/her peers and professors don't like that!

See post 357 for Telegraph "Day of Reckoning" link:

"Pistorius’s siblings Carl and Aimee, who rushed to the scene in the aftermath of the shooting, may be asked to talk about his behaviour and his heightened fear of crime that might have prompted it.

One of the team of psychologists who have worked with Pistorius in the year since the shooting may also be asked to put his actions in his own particular context, and explain the paranoia that drove him"

and the difficulty with the 'paranoia' is.. that he cannot be allowed to live in any circumstance ever again that may set that paranoia off.. a secure environment, bereft of all unusual sounds, where he is 'safe' but so is everyone else..

They'd probably strip his right to own guns anymore.

he'd go for another weapon, if he was paranoid..

the guns are not the cause of his 'paranoia' .. the claimed paranoia..

no. he would have to be incarcerated entirely in a soundproof environment, without access to any weaponry whatsoever.. that's not the cure for Oscars claimed paranoia, but it is the cure for everyone elses safety ..

That sounds like jail to me. :jail:

Precisely.

it would be a long stretch to claim that Oscar was only paranoid in regard to sounds translating into an imminent attack on his person and Reeva's on one occasion.. and on the one occasion where his guest uses the toilet at exactly the same time as a 'sound ' is heard...

that isn't how paranoia works..

  • #394
That sounds like jail to me. :jail:

preferable to a lifetime in a psychiatric ward.. even Oscar would have figured that one out..

he'd rather be thought of as a super marksman, than a diagnosed paranoid with narcissistic tendencies requiring the extra restraints and compulsory medication of the psych ward..

It does not appear to be a credible article because the writer says he gave the password, it didn't work, and in the next sentence says it did work. It is also date February 13th.

Here is a more credible source from February 27th:

Quote:
"The lead detective investigating Oscar Pistorius over the shooting of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp has been sent to the Apple headquarters in California to seek help in bypassing password protection on the athlete's iPhone, just days before his murder trial is due to begin.

The South African Police Service has been struggling for months to access text and Whatsapp messages on the iPhone 5 they found lying on the bathmat outside the lavatory where Miss Steenkamp was shot in the early hours of St Valentine's Day morning last year."

Snipped

"Mr Pistorius told detectives that he could not remember the Apple ID code needed to log in to the phone. The South African authorities claimed earlier this month that America's FBI was dragging its heels on authorising Apple to disclose the encrypted information."

It won't be on Monday. His defense team will make sure to question the first witness all day. Especially if they feel OP needs at least one more day to perfect his testimony. Heck, they may even drag out the first witness for two days putting OP on the stand on Weds.

MOO

BBM: That's not what it says, viper.

"However, Pistorius’s lawyer Brian Webber says this is not true and presented eNCA with a letter sent to prosecutor Gerrie Nel in June last year, containing Pistorius’s iTunes ID and password.

While the National Prosecuting Authority won’t formally comment on this, investigators have told us the password is incorrect.

However, when eNCA tried using the password it clearly worked. All it appears to reveal is that Oscar Pistorius likes legal TV dramas, cello concertos and dance music."

It's a he said/she said.

Investigators say it was incorrect, the reporters says it works and have proof OP provided the password in June of last year.

So the defense handed over OP's ID and password to the press? Hmmm, who is it that is supposedly leaking info to the press again?
