A side note about defense strategy. IMO the defense just began to innoculate the jury about the sexting and adultery evidence that's likely coming next, and did so by asking that delightful , cheery, momma-like daycare teacher questions like-- "did RH talk to you about his watching 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬? Did he tell you he sexted? "

The J. Arias trial is instructive on that score-- the sex talk can be shocking at first, but keep talking it and the shock wears off pretty quickly.

The room Michelle was working in, was supposedly the phone that RH called for 6 minutes? But Michelle said no to the phone ringing, or anyone using it. Right?

Defense is really talking about the call... I wonder what he is trying to get to..
Side note he would make me so nervous.

10:52 a.m. Hawkins says learning that Harris was sexting other woman would have been surprising to her because that's not how he portrayed himself.

State: If you heard or knew that he was sexting other women and prostitutes and things like that, would that be night and day from the way he protrayed himself to you?
Hawkins: Right. It would be.
Defense: How he protrayed himself to you was in fact what you saw over the period of more than a year with Cooper, which was, you knew he loved that little boy. Is that true?
Hawkins: Yes.
Defense: And you knew it because of the way he interacted with him?
Hawkins: Yes.
Defense: Because he came back to check on him. The way that he came back for special occasions, to dress up as the tool, or to be there for the parades and to be involved. That's how you knew Ross loved that little boy. Isn't that true?
Hawkins: Yes.
State: Did he also act like he loved his wife?
Hawkins: Yes.

10:55 a.m. State calls witness Michelle Gray to the stand. Gray was working as a co-teacher in Cooper's classroom at Little Apron Academy in June 2014.

10:58 a.m. Gray says Cooper was just starting to talk and had learned to say her name. She says the night before his death, he said, "Bye Chel" on his way out the door.

11:02 a.m. Gray says she was there when Leanna Harris came to pick up Cooper on June 18, 2014. She said she thought it was odd and asked Leanna, "What are you doing here? Cooper's not here." Gray says, "(Leanna) was confused. She looked frantic."

11:15 a.m. Defense says during an interview, detectives asked Gray over and over again about whether or not she had talked to Harris that day. Gray said no but the detective continued to ask and warned her against making a false statement. Gray says she never spoke with Harris that day. Defense says detectives also asked her if she had a relationship with Harris.

11:27 a.m. Defense says "What in the World" email that Harris received the day of Cooper's death does not list absences or mention Cooper anywhere on it.

Defense shows emails from Little Apron Academy that were sent to parents. One shows a day where Ross Harris came to visit. pic.twitter.com/DLvsH2FcFl — Ross Harris Trial (@RossHarrisTrial) October 13, 2016

11:32 a.m. Gray says in interview with detectives she was "scared" because "I did nothing wrong."

Interesting. Defense says police asked teacher if she had relationship with Ross Harris. She said no.

Does anyone know if she did?

#RossHarris - Det. told her they had records showing there was a phone call to the number in Toddler Room 5 (daycare).

#RossHarris - Police questioned her over and over about the phone in the toddler room. Did she pick up the phone and talk to Ross? No

Det warned her that making a false statement was a crime. She says she always told the truth to them.

Sounds like police think/know the call made from the scene by Ross was to the daycare & kept questioning teacher about it.

After the redirect of teacher, it now appears that detectives were on a fishing expedition with teacher, Michelle Gray.

Interesting the way the police were treating that one witness

The cops were just all over the place on this case. With each passing witness it looks more and more like the cops came up with a conclusion and tried to make evidence fit their preferred narrative.

New Witness Jeffrey Jackson, IT security engineer at Home Depot. He pulled the phone records from LA.

Teacher Gray just testified that the emails sent do NOT make note of children being absent. Defense points out that if Leanne read the email, she wouldn't have known from it that Cooper wasn't there.

Also, the defense is using Gray to illustrate how aggressively Stoddard went after potential witnesses who didn't give him the answers he wanted. Gray was even threatened by Stoddard of the consequences of giving untruthful answers to LE. Kilgore all but held her hand in commiseration as he questioned Gray about her interview with Stoddard, lol.

How would anyone know that? Imo that question was incredibly insulting, part of an overly aggressive interrogation of that poor teacher, and an neon flashing indication of the State's premature conclusions about RH's guilt.

So maybe the 6 minutes phone call was to Michelle? I'm confused. :(

Sorry, cannot reply with qoute. Why are they quitting eatly today?

Could someone answered the phone and redirected to another area in the daycare? Or would that show up as being redirected in the system?

I agree. The whole team is a pleasure to watch in action, but especially Kilgore. He's especially good with witness handling, imo. These are State witnesses he's crossing, but without knowing that, I could easily infer by his mannerisms and his even, unchallenging tone of voice that these witnesses were his own.

(I have a feeling witness Gray left today feeling like Kilgore really listened to her, and felt her pain. Kilgore's that good).

And their trial preparation? Absolutely impressive.

I'm also very much enjoying a trial that isn't interrupted every few minutes by demands for a sidebar that are always granted, and in which opposing counsel treat one another with respect and courtesy. ;)
