If JRH was on trial for being a terrible husband he would be found guilty.....
You know what? This is a very, very interesting statement and one that is worth taking several looks at. Why indeed is it that we don't hear about people leaving their children in cars when it's really, really cold out?
I have friends living in the northern areas of North Dakota, Montana, Wisconsin, Minnesota ect..and when I read this I am forced to strain my brain to attempt some kind of recall where ANY child recently has been left in a car in the winter in these areas.
This is very interesting and puzzling. I'm sure it happens but absolutely not with the enormous frequency that this does in the summer. It REALLY begs the question as to just how many of these 'accidents' are truly accidents? This summer we seemed to have a dang outbreak of people leaving their kids in cars in our state and several over. Seriously! It was like two a month.
I'm beginning to wonder if these pencil necked nut jobs are just spineless copy cats. They hear about this happening and start thinking it's the way to go. My greatest wish is that they get systemic yeast infections that lead to flesh eating bacteria, which slowly eats them away. Then, they rot in hell after that, in Dante's Inferno.

I thought he seemed tired of having to reading that stuff. Or maybe I was tired of hearing it. Could be either or both, lol.
I am just taking a stab in the dark, but if a child is left in a car for 8 hours in a freezing car, the results are likely not fatal. Unless a fatality is involved the story is not newsworthy IMO.

It use to be, years ago that when someone got drunk and drove their car, then caused a fatal accident; the people would say, "Oh how sad. what a sad accident." and then, that was it. Now of course we know better. Now if you drive drunk and kill someone you go to jail for murder.
The same needs to happen to all of these people leaving their kids to die. I don't care what the da#!#$%& excuse is for this. "Oh I was in a hurry to work.", "Oh! How could I do such a thing! I was rushed!", "I wasn't use to dropping the baby off."
NONE OF THESE EXCUSES ARE VALID WHEN A CHILD DIES.
If I gave you a sack with twelve million dollars in it and put it in your back seat I can bet you everything no one would forget that sack of cash in the back seat. Our children are worth more.
Here's what needs to change: If you don't want your kids then there needs to be EASY, LEGAL avenues for which people can shamelessly put their children up for adoption. No hassle.
2). Men; if you are out there and you don't want that baby, you don't like being hassled for child support or the responsibilities of having anything to do with that baby then SIGN OFF YOUR PARENTAL RIGHTS. If women have the right to have an abortion then men should have the right to cancel any and all financial obligation to a child they do not want. FAIR IS FAIR.
3). We need to pass unilateral legislation so that when a person kills a child in this manner they go to prison. No more cute little blonde women weeping away on the TV, "She is such a good mother, she just slipped up this time and the child died." TOO BAD off you go. Enjoy the dinner trays.
At some point it simply just does not matter if he made a phone call, if he was sending nude photos of himself to a teenage girl, (throw up) or if he had receipts for every donut shop in five miles, he needs to go to jail and play with the big boys.
Hmm but they didn't bring this person in with the others?

I'm sorry, am I supposed to believe that JRH killed his child so he wouldn't have to pay for his cruise/passport cost?

On an unrelated note, I think that those in the courtroom are bored, frustrated, and/or angry with JRH's sexual antics. Did you hear the laughter that emerged from the entire courtroom, including Judge Staley, when Boring told Detective Stoddard that he wasn't going to have him read a particular sexual exchange since the jurors have heard enough? Since we can't see the jury, it is hard to know exactly what they think of this extensive evidence/testimony. I definitely got the sense that they are ready to move on. For me personally, I couldn't imagine seeing booby and genital pictures for days on end. I find most of the testimony to be emotionally draining.
I LEFT IT BLANK FOR YOU TO FILL IN.Where's 1). ?
You've obviously never been to North Dakota in the winter, lol. I lived there for one unbearable year. The day I arrived it was minus 30 degrees F before windchill, the wind was blowing so hard I had difficulty keeping my footing, and the weather wasn't considered to be especially bad yet. :O
Children could certainly die if left for 8 hours in a car in those conditions.
You are correct. Cold will make metabolism slow down. Not only that but kids are normally dressed in snow suits and other warm gear in the winter so if they're left in a car, their body heat is retained. Also, the temp may be cold outside but the sun shining through the windows of the car will warm up the car somewhat.
ETA: Most body heat is lost from the head. Kids usually have a warm cap on in the winter which drastically reduces their heat loss.

Did the prosecution take into consideration that it was Cooper that died, and not Leanna?
It seems that this testimony would be a lot more pertinent if he spent all day talking about how much he disliked being a father, rather than a husband.
I don't know if RH planned Coopers death or not, I flip flop all over the place. But I am not seeing his dissatisfaction with marriage as any sort of smoking gun here.
I think the state had to bring up this passport issue first because the DT is planning got use it as evidence themselves----as in he was applying for his child's passport thus he had no plans to get rid of him...
"I love my son but that joker drains my paycheck." Ugh, he's such a classy guy.
How cold does it get where you live? My car broke down last January and it doesn't matter if you have your Hello Kitty mittens on and your long johns. When it's -25 you lose your heat. You lose it very, very quickly.
By the way, I'm here to give testimony that FAT does not keep you warm.
