Speculation: If it was MTR who had been there PRIOR to April 8th or AFTER April 8th, his Blackberry may have pinged the tower at MT. Forest again.

JMO

Didn't it pinged the night of the 8th? He went back that's how the detective knew TLM was talking about Mount Forest if I remember correctly

I still can't get over Rafferty wearing a purple shirt and tie to court today:banghead:

Maybe the defences way of saying" we know this is gonna be a hard day today"...IMO like the idea might have come from the lawyers possibly. Likely a lot of people are going to feel very angry today more so than the others and if they look over and see the purple maybe it might deflect the anger???

Where does the money come from for his clothes? Most young people unemployed don't own so many suits IMO

MTR was on welfare at the time of the murders...do we know if MTR was as well??JMO

strange he didn't notice the garbage bags or the odour of decay...JMO

Hey maybe wouldn't have recognized an odour of decay?

When her body was found a lot later the detective said there was a slight decomp smell so I think he couldnt smell it if it was May 2009 as it was only a month after and it was cold plus she was under the rocks.

Her body was probably preserved from the cold. They had snow that week. I don't know what the temperatures were in 2009 but if I take today's temperatures, I would guess it was approx the same. At night it gets to below zero still.

Also, who expects a dead body to be there? He was probably oblivious to his surroundings, going about doing what he's always done. If she was underneath rocks, he wouldn't notice. :(

not sure I understand what you mean by "farmers nose" being as I am a city gal ha... but having said that I would think that being a farmer and used to slaughtering animals he would notice an odour of decay...just saying... and JMO

Farmers don't usually slaughter animals themselves...in fact I think that is illegal. They would have a truck come pick them up and take them to a slaughtering plant such as that MTR worked at!

Also, Tara McDonald tells me that yesterday was the first time she had visited the site where Tori's remains were found #sl

~ while watching the Casey Anthony case, I believe her defense lawyers bought her clothes for trial. Perhaps they do this in Canada as well, not sure. Just a thought :)

sorry but I find that a minor detail considering what will be shown in court today...what to come is what I would be livid about....:moo:

Also just to add to that, even if one of the farmer's beef cattle had died of natural causes on the farm, there are special trucks that come around and pick it up, most likely not more than a day later.

So the farmer said he saw the tire tracks so did MR go back or did TLM not get rid of all the tire tracks?

Well lots of unusual and nasty smells on a farm ie large composts, chicken coops, dead fish (don't even ask), fertilizers etc etc...it is a term used around here to express don't ask if something smells nice or do you smell that...to a farmer...as they have farmer's nose.

I wonder if he did smell an odour and attributed it to deceased wildlife (deer?). The crown didn't ask so we'll never know.
How horrible he must have felt to find out Tori was there so close to the rock pile.

The jury is returning now.

Pathologist Dr. Michael Pollanen is the next Crown witness

RaffertyLFP: Dr. Michael Pollanen being called to testify.

Jury and public has been warned a number of times this morning that Pollanen's evidence will be extremely graphic and disturbing

Crown lawyer Michael Carnegie has called Dr. Michael Pollanen to the stand.

Carnegie is going through Pollanen's credentials. He's considered an expert witness.

Avery Moore ‏
I will filter tweets as testimony becomes graphic

Pollanen is standing in witness box like past witness, Det-Staff Sgt. Jim Smyth
