interesting the blade was removed from the knife... why did he keep the handle?

Maybe the knife wasn't his and he didn't want it noticed missing from the house.

  • #103
Maybe he got the boxed set and kept the smaller one in his car for those times when you just feel like cutting out chunks of your back seat?

<bbm>

Thanks for the chuckle Kamille ... needed that right now.

Only time in my life I would have considered that was when my old dog had a bad accident in my old jalopy. I just rolled down all windows, drove home like the wind, left the car in the driveway for 3 days while I pondered what to do ... then set about cleaning it. No way I was going to carve up my carseat (and it was only a Renault ;))

Fairly small crowd in overflow court today - about 8 reporters and as few spectators

Good move to take a break with it etched in the jury's minds that Tori's match was 1 in 28 billion.

Just wanted to thank everyone who is keeping us updated via tweets. :)

That MR is a bright one. Getting rid of the back seat, but leaving the piece he felt needed to be removed in the car.

And....he's toast. If he only helped bury the body when she was already in garbage bags, he wouldn't have any of her hair on him.

that is the coat TLM said they threw over Tori in car to hide her...MTR would have been part then of hiding her....working together IMO

I'm on pins and needles waiting for the rest of this testimony!

We left off below prior to break

In the case if evidence found in this case, chance of random person matching Tori's DNA is 1 in 28 billion.

RaffertyLFP: Court is resuming with more testimony from McLean

The jury has returned.

Jennifer McLean back on the stand. Says she and a technologist went to Tillsonburg to examine #Rafferty's 2003 Honda Civic.

Usually cars are sent to the centre of forensic sciences directly. But, the car was examined in Tillsonburg instead.

McLean said she did an offsite examination of Rafferty's car usually the care is taken to the centre

There was a series if tests to be done on the car, so McLean did her test on site in Tillsonburg.

Me too. I have the feeling they're just getting started and the evidence will pile up.

McLean said she and a forensic technologist went to OPP station in Tillsonburg to examine Rafferty's car

McLean said she had the chance to stop the examination and move the car to the CFS if needed. She didn't need to.

RaffertyLFP: McLean said she a special forensic examination area had been constructed at the OPP office in Tillsonburg

Mike Knoll:

@Sean - no. If this was the U.S. we could. It's actual a criminal offense on the juries behalf to discuss the trial following it.

Comment From Sean

Would you be able to interview some of the jury after the trial is over

  • About 84 items from the Stafford case were sent to the Centre for Forensic Science for examination

  • #119
84 items were sent for CFS examination in this case, McLean says.

McLean says a hair root and one of Tori's teeth were used to create a DNA profile. Also, samples from her parents.

McClean said a hair from comb and a tooth recovered from autopsy used to work up a DNA profile on Tori Stafford -also samples from parents

McLean says police sent a total of 84 items to the Centre of Forensic Sciences for testing
