No bond. East Baton Rouge Parish prison.

*Trial continues (Day 5) (for both) (@ 8am ET) - FL - Efrain Ibarra-Barcenas (44) his body was found in a burning field in Ruskin. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office said on Saturday, April 15, 2023, just shortly after 8 a.m., a concerned caller told dispatch they drove past what they believed was a mannequin on fire in an open field behind a residential area on Will Scarlett Avenue in Ruskin. Fire Rescue responded to the scene to extinguish the flames & discovered that the mannequin was actually a dead body. The sheriff's office said the victim was found with upper body trauma & due to the severity of the burns, it cannot be identified. Was id’ed as Efrain. *Christian Segura-Alvarez (20/now 23) arrested (4/21/23) & charged (4/22/23) with 2nd degree felony murder with gun & tampering with physical evidence relating to a capital felony in connection with the crime. $600K bond. Hillsborough County
*Antonio Juan Carlos Almraz-Barbosa (26/now 29) arrested (5/22/23 in Houston, TX) & charged (5/12/23) with 2nd degree murder, 2nd degree abuse of a human body, 3rd degree tampering with physical evidence & 3rd degree grand theft of a motor vehicle. Awaiting extradition from Houston to Hillsborough County, FL. Extradited & booked 6/20/23. $510K Bond. Plead not guilty. Hillsborough County

Reported missing by stepmom @ 6:40pm on 11/30/22; found deceased along the water’s edge of the Trinity River southeast of Boyd on the evening of Dec. 2, 2022 about 9 miles from her home). *Tanner Lynn Horner (31/now 34) arrested (12/3/22), indicted (2/16/23), charged & arraigned (3/6/23) with capital murder (under the age of 10) & 1st degree felon aggravated kidnapping. Bond $1M (murder) $500K (kidnapping). Surety Bond total $1,545,000. Plead not guilty (3/6/23). DA will seek DP (2/18/23). Wise County/Now in 297th District Court-Tarrant County on 3/16/24.[
TX - *Tanner Lynn Horner (31/now 34) charged (12/21/22) with 3 counts of sexual assault (from 2013) in Fort Worth. Bond @ $45K. Surety Bond Total $135K. DA will not be trying this case. Tarrant County

The judge said Horner's brother will no longer testify. Court resumes Thursday morning, 4/30/26 with Horner's grandmother expected to take the stand. Defense testimony is expected to wrap on Monday, with closing arguments as soon as Tuesday. At that point, jurors could begin deliberations on whether Horner will be sentenced to death or life in prison without parole. There will be no testimony on Friday, 5/1/26. Prosecutors will be doing rebuttal. Trial continues on Monday, 5/4/26.

Tuesday, May 5th:

Barahona (43/now 58) “adopted father” arrested (2/12/11), charged (3/7/11), indicted (3/23/11) & arraigned (4/13/11) with 8 felony counts of aggravated child abuse with great bodily harm, 8 felon/counts of child neglect & attempted murder (Victor) & charged (3/7/11) with 1st degree murder. Trial was set to begin on 4/6/20 reset for 6/15/20 & cancelled due to guilty plea on 9/20/20 & now has new attorneys, plead not guilty on 1/7/21.

*Sentencing Hearing (Macon County) (@ 10am ET) - AL - Aniah Haley Blanchard (19) (last heard from Oct. 23, 2019 text with friend, Auburn, Lee County; car found early morning hours of Oct. 24 along South College St; officially reported missing Oct. 24, 2019; Aniah was found Nov. 25, 2019 near Highway 80 in Shorter, Ala., which is about 25 miles east of Montgomery, Macon County off County Road 2 near New Hope Baptist Church several feet into the woods.) – *Ibraheem Yazeed aka Laquetta Nicole Lamar, Ibraheema Yazeed, Ibraheen Yazeed (29/now 36) arrested (12/4/19 in Escambia County) & charged (11/7/19 Lee County) with 1st murder & 1st degree kidnapping. Held with no bond. Lee County Case was moved to Macon County.
*Indicted (11/14/22), recharged & arraigned (3/6/23 in Macon County) with 1 count of 1st degree capital murder (during a kidnapping), 1 count of 1st degree murder (during robbery) & 1 count of 1st degree murder involving a victim in a vehicle [this charge was dismissed on 3/17/26]. Plead not guilty (3/6/23). Held with no bond. DA will seek DP. Held in Lee County jail. 1/16/26 transferred to Macon County jail. Macon County

3/19/26 Thursday, Trial Day 9/Verdict Watch (Day 2): Jury began deliberations @ 9:30am to 11am [question for Judge] 12pm to 12:15pm.
A Macon County jury found Yazeed guilty of felony murder and guilty of murder, lesser charges under the capital murder counts he was originally indicted on. The verdict means Yazeed was not convicted of capital murder, which could have carried the death penalty. He now faces sentencing on the murder convictions, which could include life in prison. Yazeed's sentencing is scheduled for 5/7/26 @ 10am.
3/31/26 Update: Attorneys for Yazeed are asking a judge to block outside communication ahead of his sentencing. In a motion filed in Macon County Circuit Court, the defense argues that social media posts from members of the victim’s family have encouraged the public to send letters & emails directly to the judge, urging the maximum sentence. The filing claims those messages constitute improper “ex parte” communication — meaning they occur outside the formal court process — and could unfairly influence the court’s decision. Defense attorneys argue that sentencing should be based only on evidence, testimony & legally permitted victim impact statements presented in court. The motion is still pending, and the judge has not yet ruled.
*Antwon “Squirmy” Shamar Fisher (35) was arrested & charged (11/22/19) & arraigned on (11/25/19) with first-degree kidnapping. $50K bond. 12/17/19: Charges dismissed “with prejudice” by Judge.
