Tricia Thread

  • #41
Curiosity is getting the better of me.

How did Tricia come to be so publicly involved in this case? I read on another thread that she had people close to her that were hurt by the Ramseys and I know she started her forums because of JonBenet. They don't interview just anybody on these shows which tells me that Tricia is "somebody". Can someone give me some background or point me to a thread.

Not trying to be disrespectful here, I'm just curious.

What? She looked like a little girl in a beauty contest to me. She didn't look like she was suffering either. I've been to some beauty contests and they are really alot of fun for the kids and the parents.

I have never seen another child in my life dressed up as a Las Vegas Showgirl or anything else along that line, so if you are correct and she looked like all of the other little girls in a beauty contest, I'd love to see the proof.

To me, she looked like a young child who was being sexually exploited.

I replied to whoever posted before me, it happens sometimes.

But since I do seem to have your attention - maybe you can elaborate on your post and tell me why you do not believe that Tricia will not be asked back?

Because Lin Wood has Dan Abrahms on speed-dial? :innocent:

Actually, RiverRat, she DID look like all the other little girls in the beauty pageants that she participated in. Just look at all the other little girls in the videos that JonBenet is standing next to---it's all more of the same. They were ALL tarted up to the extreme, with makeup, the hairdo's all sprayed up, even down to the suggestive poses and strutting. I HAVE seen little girls dressed up like Las Vegas showgirls, BUT only in those ridiculous glitz beauty pageants. Truly sickening, if you ask me. IMO, these beauty pageants are a case of the mom's living vicariously through their children. For whatever reason, Mom didn't feel like she got what she needed when she was a child, IMO.

Just saw this story on Dr. Phil the other day. The mom was truly disgusting. The daughter did these pageants, and at 8 years old, the mom made her wear FALSE TEETH, a spray on tan, more makeup than I wear as an adult...geez. Her professional pictures were even air-brushed out to get rid of any freckles. The little girl truly looked disturbing. I mean, she was so "faked out" that she wasn't even pretty-looking....it was definately weird. As much as the mom said she was doing it for the daughter, she kept saying "I am addicted to pageants", and "I want to win", and I, I , I, I ......ugh! I wanted to yell "GET A LIFE" through the TV.

Because people that speak openly about anything, using high profile names are rarerly given much exposure - for obvious reasons (speed-dial being one). The reason the anchor didn't know what to say - more than likey is because she was caught off guard.
Thanks for asking!

OK, TRicia just called and said that she was worried she didn't do well. I told her she rocked and we were all going crazy because she brought up Carnes and also because she brought up the one person who always gets forgotten: JonBenet.

...
Good for Tricia on getting her point across! But I do have one nit to pick. It's almost a cliche to claim that the victim -- in this case JonBenet -- is always forgotten. I mean, whenever there are developments in this case, JonBenet's photo is ALWAYS all over network and cable television. I'd wager there isn't a news junkie in America who doesn't know who JonBenet is. In no way, shape, form or fashion has she been forgotten.

I saw that Dr. Phil show and took notes on it but then this sideshow came along......anyhow - yes, I do agree that some of the other little girls push the edge - however......I will still wait for the proof that a Las Vegas SHOWGIRL outfit is common.

Very good then. If the anchor didn't know why Tricia was there, well, then that makes two funnies MSNBC needs to own this week!

I hope you don't mind me quoting you, however, I agree with you Stonewall. By placing the blame for this tragedy on a parent's decision to feel proud of their child and placing the blame on a beauty pagent, it diverts the blame from the pedophile son of a b**tch animal who performed this heinous act of criminality.

Perhaps "the pedophile son of a b**tch animal who performed this heinoius act of criminality" cruises the young beauty pageant circuit in search of victims. It is not such a stretch to imagine that the beauty pageant life and JBR's sexual abuse are linked somehow.

Since the interview was interrupted and cut short, maybe they will run it again this afternoon. I have that channel on in the background.

Whoever posted that they knew some future appearances, will you post the times if you know them?

Hmmm I wonder what outfit she wore in the Atlanta show done in '96 I think. Maybe the showgirl outfit since there are real showgirls performing in Atlanta, keeping in the spirit of things? LOL

As much as I hate the whole ridiculous beauty pageant thing, I in no way place blame on the Ramsey's because of it. I am a Ramsey supporter as far as the murder of their daughter goes----I don't think they did it. I don't agree with them tarting her up like a sex object, though....but I don't blame the death of JonBenet because of their decision to do the beauty pageants.

IMO, I would rather feel proud of my child for a REAL accomplishment. You know, softball, baseball, academic work. IMO, strutting around like an adult woman when your 6 yrs old is NO accomplishment, and nothing to be proud of.

i dont think i would ever put my daughter in those pagents-fun or not-but they go on all over the country and world-thats a given. They have done many shows on this since the murder-so they exist. Big Time.

I think u meant that she wont be asked back only because she didnt take a popular postion-the show may not have wanted her opinions again? Is that correct?
That said, I think this is kinda out of control- u didnt mean anything impolite-but neither did RiverRat..she was being funny I think when she made this statement.
