Trinity Poague, Reigning Miss Donalsonville (GA) Facing Murder Charges in the Death of a Young Child - 19 Jan 2024

DONALSONVILLE, Ga. (WTVY) - The reigning Miss Donalsonville (GA) faces murder and other charges related to the death of a young child.

Sumter County, Georgia jail records show state investigators arrested Trinity Madison Poague on Friday. She is 18.

“The investigation indicates an unresponsive 18-month-old boy was admitted to the emergency room at Phoebe Sumter Hospital in Americus, Georgia,” Georgia Bureau of Investigations said in a statement provided to News4.

GBI said hospital staff tried to perform life-saving measures on the baby, but he died.

Poague faces Felony Murder, Aggravated Battery, and Cruelty to Children charges. According to jail records, she has no bond.

Officials with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation say on Sunday, January 14 the Georgia Southwestern State University Police Department asked the GBI to investigate the death of a child.

The investigation indicates an unresponsive 18-month-old boy was admitted to the emergency room at Phoebe Sumter Hospital in Americus, Georgia. Officials say hospital personnel performed life-saving measures on the child, but he later died.

After multiple interviews and an examination of the evidence, GBI agents arrested Poague.

On Friday, January 19, agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation arrested 18-year-old Trinity Madison Poague and charged her with Felony Murder, Aggravated Battery, and First Degree Cruelty to Children.

Childs name = R.A.

The coroner revealed to WDHN that Poague was dating the Angles' supposed father, but the child's birth certificate does not name anyone as the biological father.

Deputy Coroner Wright says that on the night A.' died, the supposed father identified the infant as “Jaxton Drew” to hospital staff.
