TSUNAMI WARNING - 30 minutes Fiji

The U.S. National Weather Service warns that a tsunami could strike Fiji within 30 minutes and New Zealand within 90 minutes, following a massive earthquake in the region. Details to come.

8.1 earthquake off the island of Tonga. Doesn't appear a tsunami will hit the west coast of the US but Hawaii is a possibility.

The U.S. National Weather Service warned that a tsunami could strike Fiji as soon as 1:13 p.m. EDT Wednesday and New Zealand by 2:21 p.m. EDT Wednesday.

CNN) -- All tsunami warnings issued after a major quake in the southern Pacific Ocean have been canceled, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

Glad the tsunami was cancelled. Unfortunately predicting a tsunami is not perfected yet. Hope people don't become indifferent to the warnings when a tsunami doesn't come.
